I’m finally not busy and out of a book slump. Me being a huge lover of books like this I gobbled it up in one sitting.
Max is going for the Heisman trophy and he needs to get the groupies and his ex off his back. So when he opens his door to his new next door neighbor Sunny, he comes up with the plan to pay her to be his fiancee.
What could go wrong?
These two were good together. The chemistry was brilliant. I just wish the past was a bit more developed. Going off the synopsis I didn’t know if I was going to like this or not but I am really happy that I did read it.
I picked up this book because I know the fake fiancee trope is very popular so I was curious to try one. This was an enjoyable story with a sexy college football player and a strong yet wounded heroine. I was pleased to see this book had a good plot that kept me interested beyond just the familiar fake fiancee trope. Sexy, sweet, engaging (pun sorta intended) read.
I took an Ilsa break after binge reading most of her books and coming to one that made me angry. Well, let’s just say, she made up for it now. As soon as I started this book I knew I would love it.
I don’t love fake relationships much, but do I love long lost soulmates? Um, yes. Yes, I do. I am in fact a sucker for them. What I love about this book is that it went deeper than I expected, but Ilsa’s books tend to do that and it is why I love them so much.
Max.. sigh. As soon as he said he didn’t hook up with random groupies I knew this was a book for me. Look, I’m sure the guy sowed some wild oats but it wasn’t thrown in my face and for that I appreciate it. Max was so focused on football that he failed to see much else around him. Sunny was so focused on not falling for another jock, but she knew in the end, it was inevitable. They were soulmates. Max wasn’t good at putting anyone above himself, that was abundantly clear, so it was hard for him to work through that, but he did make a lot of changes in order to prove to Sunny he was all in. As much as they tried to push each other away, fate had other ideas. Loved it.
Read this book from beginning to end in one sitting!! I love a great fake relationship that ends with the couple falling head over heals for each other. Max and Sunny’s relationship blooms throughout the book and their attraction to each other is undeniable! Ilsa Madden-Mills gives us everything in this book; love, humor, angst and best of all, smoking hot sex scenes! If you like a great fake relationship trope, then Fake Fiancee is a must read!
I loved, loved, loved this book! If I hadn’t had work to be done, I would have read it in one sitting. Max Kent was a to-die-for swoon worthy Alpha male that you just wanted to reach into the book and make your own. Sunny Blaine was a sweet, sassy, independent, vulnerable and very likable leading lady that you just couldn’t help but root for. I loved them both! The book had a fun storyline that flowed from the first page to the last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book
Sports and young adult romance are not my normal reads but I enjoyed this.
Max and Sunny have great chemistry it’s what made this story. He’s the hot quarterback, she’s an art major.
He’s sick of the superficial women he’s been sleeping with and Sunny a welcome change. He decides he needs a fake girlfriend to warn off the other superficial girl and hanger on so he can concentrate on his football.
A sweet romantic lovely story that turns out to be much more.
This was pretty good, I liked the story line. I thought Sunny and Max were really cute together. There was quite a bit of drama, but it was still cute and sexy. I really liked the epilogue and I hope Tate gets a book, he would be fun to read. I like me a guy with an accent.
This was such a sweet and sexy love story. I enjoyed listening to it and definitely recommend this book. The narrators were wonderful.
Sunny and Max are a campus couple to hot to trot. Sunny since she left home years ago has been taking care of herself and just trying to hold her head above water. After one last jock loser betrays her she has sworn off guys and is just going to focus on her studies and the family and friends she had left. Max is doing everything he can to ensure he ends up in the NFL – championship season√, good grades√, keeping his nose clean√, avoiding drama… After his ex leaves a bad taste in his mouth he cant trust the opposite sex not screw over when every girl on campus seems to view him as their ticket to wife-of future famous player. Until he meets Sunny, the one girl who doesn’t give to two figs for what he could do for her. Its refreshing and he is so intrigued! He comes up with a plan to keep to groupies off him and help her save some much needed dough – Fake girlfriend! There pretend relationship leads to a deeper connection and soon real chemistry is too hard to ignore. But when PR needs them to ramp it up to make the Heisman happen will Max put football before Sunny?
This book deserves so much more than 5 stars but considering that’s the highest we can rate then that’s what I’ll do. The way Ilsa writes she pulls you into the story and it’s like you live there inside that book with those characters and they are your friends. You not only fall in love with the main characters you fall in love with the secondary characters and you get mad and want to beat up some of those secondary characters as well. Sunny has run from her past and worked to get where she’s at and worked hard. She doesn’t need to fall for the star quarterback besides it’s all fake and he’s just like the rest of the cheating, lying jocks….right? Max is all about football he doesn’t need a bunch of football groupies trying to get with him so why not get a Fake Fiancée to stop all that. But Sunny feels so right to him. So what happens when he actually likes spending time with her..it’s supposed to be fake….Right??? The chemistry in this book is off the charts!!! There is an air of mystery and I love Charlie!!!!! I could read this book over and over again but that is no different than the rest of Ilsa books!!! I absolutely loved this book!!!!! You will absolutely drown in this book and not want to get out. I highly recommend this book
Who doesn’t love the fake fiancee trope!?! Come on it’s the epitome of fairytale!
A rugged good looking guy trusts you to help him and in the midst of chaos, drama, conniving hos, and bad people….the possibility of Love!
Yeah this hopeless romantic was sold on the blurb! I even got over the man bun once I realized why…because I previously was anti- man bun. Okay I still am with an exception for a certain hot quarterback!
It’s all kinds of naughty and nice. And worth every twist of the circumstances.
4.5*
You know when you’re reading a book and you can feel that the author is trying to almost force a connection between the H and h on you- but you just don’t feel it? You can kind of tell where they’re going, what they’re trying to get across, but it just doesn’t work? Well not to worry, Fake Fiancee is not like that at all! From the moment Sunny and Max meet in the prologue, to the very last page, I could honestly feel their connection…I just knew these were 2 people destined to be together.
This is such a sweet book- I loved both Sunny and Max. She is such a strong character, a fighter who’s worked hard for everything she has. Max is a sweetie who’s just trying to get through his last college football season without any trouble. When they meet *again* the sparks fly but neither understands quite what’s happening.
Fake Fiancee is an easy read, there’s not a lot of angst and drama which I appreciated for a change! It has some heavier moments, but overall it’s a fun, really delightful book. If you believe in soulmates I think you’ll love Sunny and Max’s story.
This was a sweet and wonderful read. I loved meeting Sunny and Max…OMG MAX I licked him he’s mine! 😉 This is a definite must read, it is wonderfully written and Sunny is a strong and amazing leading lady and Max makes it yummy!
Surprised at how good this one was. My first book by this author so I am always a bit leery of reading a good preview but then having the story fall apart later. No such thing here. Characters you like, some angst but not so much that it feels contrived or you want to holler at the h, good dialogue, interesting plot. I’ll be looking up all her other books

I really like “fake relationships” stories and this one was incredible. I really liked it.
From the beginning, it was different and original. The connection was special and from then on, their love story became even more beautiful.
Max is the hero. He’s a jock, he’s talented and popular but he’s not the cliche of this role. He’s not a player, nor a jerk. He’s a good friend, loyal, he makes mistakes but away from the cliche.
Sunny is everything her name means. She’s smart and kind. A fighter, with an enormous heart and a genuine person. I really loved them together. Reading their story is heartwarming and puts a smile on the face.

This the second book that I read from this author and it’s a shame that I’ve just discovered her books despite having some of them before.
I’m a sucker for fake relationships books and this one was soooooo good. The MCs are perfect together. I was hooked since the start (I just wish that part had been more relevant at the end). The plot was well written and paced, but I guess I was waiting for something big to happen at the end, but I am very happy with the end.
A great read if you enjoy this kind of reads. You won’t be disappointed.
Fantastic
A Very enjoyable book about fate and finding the one who was always meant to be yours.
Max and Sunny I loved them they start a fake relationship which turns into a fake engagement,Max needs this to further his budding football career and Sunny needs the money he is offering.
But there is a twist,
They have met before…what would happen if they remembered their past meeting.
I relished these two and their push and pull,I loved reading about them falling in Love and how it takes them by surprise.
What I also liked was that there was not too much angst and it was refreshing that they weren’t all secretive with eachother and causing unneccessry drama.
Ilsa’s words had me enthralled and I finished it in record time for me as I couldn’t put it down.
A wonderful read that I highly recommend

We’ve all probably read a million fake engagement romances.
Sunny & Max really were different.
From their first meeting, to the very end of the book, they kept me captivated.
Just enough angst, a mystery to solve, and a thousand feelings!
Max Kent is the big man on campus being a quarterback phenom, he is a Heisman contender and has a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When his new neighbor slams into his life, he is intrigued by Sunny who doesn’t care who he is and makes her aversion to athletes known. Max though is trying to clean up his act and Sunny is trying to show her ex-cheater boyfriend that she has moved on. Together they come up with a plan to be pretend boyfriend – girlfriend. What happens though when feelings get involved and Max sees an opening to ensure his Heisman victory but will he lose Sunny in return?
Loved every moment of this one. It had a bit of angst but overall the story flowed nicely. I liked that Sunny is a strong woman who has a unique past that she has overcome and is stronger for it. Max has his own issues which being with Sunny he works through. Wonderful read.
Max is a literal hero! The way they meet is so gripping. And it isn’t the only time he basically saves her. I love it when the main characters try to fight their feelings. It makes it all the more satisfying in the end. This book had more suspense than I’m used to from this author, but I loved it. All in all, a very entertaining read.
