Nothing says home quite like the smell of baking. The quiet, small town of Higbee is set in the perfect place for the upcoming northern lights. People from different parts of the country are flocking in droves to see the brilliant cosmic show as the town celebrates this unusual event. Anthony Clarence has spent his entire life not only in Higbee but in the small bakery he runs from his home. A … runs from his home. A devastating attack in his teens has kept him terrified of the outside world, Anthony locks the world away, scared to step outside his front door. Only his cakes and cookies allow him to paint the vivid world that lives on in his mind.
Jax is a movie star on the run. Attempting to distance himself from his long-time manager, and the stress of being a Hollywood star, he comes to Higbee to see the northern lights. Upon arriving, however, he finds out he’s too late to see the celestial event.
Not knowing Jax’s true identity, Anthony pulls him into a scheme to win over the heart of a man he swears he’s destined to be with. Jax needs a safe place to hide his well-known face from the world and agrees to the idea of a fake relationship.
In the process, Jax will rediscover a love for his art, and a passion for the man who reignited it in him. For Anthony, the security and comfort of Jax’s presence will force him to face the world of fantasy and dreams he’s lived in for so long, and wonder if perhaps reality could be so much better.

This was such a sweet little short read. I absolutely loved it.
Jax and Anthony are totally different people, but absolutely perfect for each other.
Jax is a movie star stuck doing the same roles over and over again. After learning a shocking secret about his manager he takes of to a little city where no one hopefully won’t recognize him.
There he meets Anthony. The sweet, caring baker afraid of leaving his house and bakery after a horrifying incident when he was young.
Together Jax and Anthony explores how much better the world can be when you are true to yourself and have someone backing you up.
I have actually never read anything by Romeo Alexander but I’m in awe of his writing. It’s really good.
A Day late and the lights are out? Jax shows up and missed the Northern Lights. But he found Anthony the amazong visionary artistic baker. He saves him from Mark an overzealous suitor. We learn what drives Anthony. His story is heartbreaking as well as watching him cope with his trauma. They each have secrets and baggage they aren’t confronting. Jax gamely steps up and helps Anthony with his baking while he contempleates his life. Matthew and Skye make an appearance. What answers does Jax reach? Will Anthony confront his trauma? Will Anthony and Jax have an intimate conversation? I think this may be my favorite of the three. Nicely done! I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
This is interesting, romantic and heartwarming. Jax is a teen heartthrob actor who finds out that his manager has been keeping him in teen roles rather than being in more adult roles. He heads off to Higbee to see he northern lights, only he had a slight meltdown on the way which caused him to be a day late. After spilling hot coffee all over himself he ends up at Anthony’s bakery looking for something to dry himself with. Anthony is a genius at making and decorating sweets, he’s also agoraphobic. While cleaning up in the back of the bakery he hears Anthony talking to someone, and when he hears what it’s about, he walks out front and pretends to be Anthony’s new boyfriend. Afterwards they come up with an arrangement that helps both of them. Jax stays with Anthony where he can get peace and quiet, and pretends to be boyfriend to make another man jealous. They end up having some deep conversations and help each other see that they don’t have to remain stuck in place, that they are stronger than they believe. They’re an interesting, sweet and romantic couple.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
This is another great story from this author. I love the story lines and characters in these books. They all are linked together yet all separate stories. Loved it

Another winning story. Anthony is so sweet and trusting and the kind of person you would want as a friend. He wants to see the good in everyone and always tries to help. Now Jax on the other hand is suspicious of everyone and afraid people will take advantage of him either for his money or good looks. The author brought the two characters together in a surprising way that fit perfectly. This is a blossoming romance that will not disappoint.
Higbee, Maine will never be the same after the Northern Lights last week.
Jax is a movie star that is disillusioned with being stuck in the teenage movies and not being able to move on to bigger and more mature roles.
Anthony is the sweetest person that owns the bakery in Higbee and hasn’t stepped foot out of it since he was 18. He suffered a beating from some of the locals at 18 that traumatized him very badly.
When Jaxs shows up in town Anthony has no clue who he is and that is just fine with Jax. Love starts to develop. you will not want to miss this sweet addition to the Northern Lights series.

Spoilers Alert!
Jax is growing tired of being just another Hollywood heartthrob – destined to do the same movies over and over until he’s too old for the roles that made him famous…
Anthony isn’t just trapped in a small town; he’s trapped in his own little corner of the world and too afraid to ever come out…
One is trying to escape from the world and be his own man; the other is scarred by past events to the point where he won’t venture out into the world. Each is talented and creative in his own way…two lost souls trying to find their way through life – and find their way to love.
This book stands alone to tell a wonderful story or can be read as part of the series which tells of how the Northern Lights and the little town of Higbee work “magic” to bring those who are seemingly different and diverse together in life and love.

This is book 4 of the Northern Lights series, but can be read as a stand alone. I have not read the other books in this series, but I plan to go back and read them soon. Reading the blurb of this book seemed entertaining, so I had to give it a shot and I am glad that I did.
Jax is an actor, looking for a place to hide for a while. Fate steps in and he meets Anthony. Anthony owns a bakery and has put himself under house arrest to protect himself. Jax helps him to come out of his shell, bit by bit. Things seem to be going great until secrets are revealed.
Strong story line, great characters, good description to detail, and engaging dialogue. Written as a third person, multi pov with a HFN ending.

I enjoyed reading this beautiful, emotional MM romance. The plot is well-written & intriguing with complex, individual characters that continue to develop throughout a well-paced story-line.
