BBB publishings presents A Modern Fairytale Anthology. Immerse yourself in a collection of fantastical fairytales retold with a modern twist. From your beloved favorites to a few tales long since forgotten, fall down the rabbit hole to discover worlds of fantasy, intrigue, and romance as we reinvent them like you’ve never seen before.
A great collection of re imagined fairy tales. SA Mackenzie’s entry is particularly fabulous- a dark and demonic re- imagining of Rumpelstiltskin with a mischievous demon villain and sassy heroine. That one had lots of steam and was a clever and inventive way to imagine that fairy tale within some well-loved paranormal cannon and romance tropes- loved how it all wrapped up.
Fantastic read! I loved reading each authors take on these old classics!
Not all stories read
The snow queen j.a Cummings feaful fairytail
Holy cow that is an awesome book I didn’t see any of those twist and turns coming at all. I can’t wait to see where this goes. Out of the park yet again.
Loved this collection of “new” fairytales. Each author puts their own unique twist on the original fairytale bringing them in to the modern time. Each one was so unique I don’t really have a favorite but if you love fairytales you will love these versions. The authors are absolutely amazing!!
I love all things BBB but fairytale is now my new favorite. Each story was unique, different and well written. My favorite has to be XIAN(G) though this retelling of Milan is one of the best I’ve read and I can’t wait for more.
Snow Fall by Rae Tina (Snow White retelling)
I loved this story. Snow has moved to a small town to get away from the city but she doesn’t like the small town gossip so she avoids dating any local guys. That is until Flynn moves to town and tries to change her mind.
Snow is a confident character and once she’s decided what she wants she goes for it. Flynn is totally intrigued by Snow.
A lovely romance story with a HEA.
As you Wish by Rachel Pudsey (Aladdin retelling)
I enjoyed this story, a bit of mystery, a little fantasy, some suspense and some action thrown in. Gun-woo finds a mysterious ring in his fathers shop which leads him to Heather, together they need to unravel the mystery surrounds the rings, with the help of the mischievous Jinni.
Xian(g) by Alexis Taylor & Beth Hendrix (Mulan retelling)
This is a great introduction to Xian, as she takes on her brothers identity and role in the Order. She is determined and with Feng as her mentor she learns what she must in order to succeed.
Briers and Brimstone by Charlie Daniel’s (Beauty & the Beast retelling)
I loved this story. Isabelle is sent to work with scientist Dr Griffin, as punishment for her fathers actions. What she finds there is nothing like she expected. She soon finds a passion for not only her work but also her colleague. Great short story with HEA.
Say my Name by S.A. MacKenzie (Rumpelstiltskin retelling)
I think one was my favourite. I absolutely loved the banter and snarky arguments between Alora and the demon. Alora makes a deal with the demon for a dream life if she can’t find out his name within a certain time.
A really unexpected romance and a great ending.
Red by Michela White (Red Riding Hood retelling)
I loved this story. What’s not to love when you have a shifter, witch, bounty hunter, gremlin, some suspense, mates and some love. Red is paid to hunt a rogue wolf, but what she finds leads her to investigate something completely different. Red is a great character, badass and independent. Silas is a sexy wolf.
A great story with HEA.
