Caleb has just signed a contract with a new team which is part of a new league and so his football career isn’t over. His focus: the game. Too bad their team is on a downward spiral before they can even begin and their starting quarterback is at the center of all the doom. No one can stand the guy, but Caleb is determined to make the most of a bad situation. He’s just got to keep his head on straight. He had no plans for a relationship because he couldn’t guarantee that he’d be staying in town. But what quickly developed between him and Jodi was obviously the furthest thing from casual and he would give anything to stay a part of the losing team if it meant he’d get to keep her.
Fair Catch was a charming and humorous romance with a bit of an edge. There’s a gorgeous football player who also happens to be an honest to goodness sweetheart and a really good guy. There’s a sassy and sweet event planner who always hoped for love and easily falls head over heels for the hero. There’s even a man who doesn’t understand social cues, has abhorrent manners, and refuses to take a hint. ←←← Bad guy! If you love romances that are like honey with characters that are easy to love, you’ll adore this story too!
Audio Review
Blind date gone right
This book is about a good friend helping out her working partner by going on a planned blind date when said friend was too sick to go and it going from bad to really good in a short amount of time.
Jodi goes on Becca’s blind date to keep her from breaking her dating average and it a disaster from the very beginning but things turn around when a stranger saves her.
Caleb can’t believe his teammate is out with that beautiful woman and when she looks at him as if to say “help” he steps in and their love blooms from there.
Reagan West and Teddy Hamilton did a great job narrating this book. I enjoyed listening to them deliver their story. It was fun and had heat and even some drama to get through. It is a well written book that I enjoyed.
This second book in the Men of Fall series continues to fresh, fun and flirty. Caleb and Jodi’s story is sweet, and sizzling with a bit of suspense. Caleb need’s to prove his football playing days aren’t over. He needs to stay focused and not let anything, or anyone distract him. When he is out with his team, he sees a beautiful woman on a bad date and steps in to rescue her. Caleb and Jodi connect right from the start and their chemistry is explosive. The are so good together, even tho they weren’t looking for a relationship. They fall fast and hard for each other, until someone steps in and tries to tear them apart. I loved Caleb and Jodi together, they had fun together and their chemistry was off the charts.
Teddy Hamilton, and Reagan West did a great job bringing this delightful, heartwarming romance to life. Their expressions, and voice changes were wonderful, and the comedic timing was spot on. I really enjoyed both their performances and thought they made this fun, exciting, and steamy romance even better!
Fair Catch
Men of Fall, Book 2
By: S.R. Grey
Narrated by: Reagan West, Teddy Hamilton
I have to say, football is not my sport of choice, by SR Grey knows how to make me love it! Fair Catch caught my heart and held it captive the entire listen! Caleb is the new tight end on the Colorado Comets. Needing to prove he is not a washed up athlete, he has no interest in a relationship. But when he sees a woman obviously looking to get out of her date, he comes to her rescue. Jodi has no faith in love, so going on a blind date in place of her best friend is not exactly her forte. But when Caleb comes to her rescue, all bets are off. This instant chemistry is felt from the minute they lay eyes on each other. From here Grey works her magic and creates a story that makes you smile, occasionally laugh, become frustrated and just feel good. She has a real talent for engaging her listeners by giving a story that is not only fun and well written, but gives us an escape into their world. With overlapping characters, we have that sense of knowing them, giving it that home feeling. I loved Caleb and Jodi, getting a look at other team members(I loved Dumbo as a nickname) and the little edge of suspense. Another entertaining listen!
This narration team of Teddy Hamilton and Reagan West enhances Fair Catch! Hamilton always finds the best voice and personality for his characters and he is spot on for the dashing Caleb. West too has a way of personalizing her characters and she does an outstanding job with Jodi. Each brings individual qualities to this dual narration combining to make an enjoyable listen.

Fair Catch
Men of Fall, Book 2
By: S.R. Grey
Narrated by: Reagan West, Teddy Hamilton
S.R. Grey writes another fabulous novel set in her “Men of Fall” series, she is truly a master at writing sports romance. The story immediately captures my attention and holds it straight to the end. The characters are realistic and easy to relate to. I adored the two leads, Caleb a 27 year old football player who wants to prove that he is not at the end of his glory on the field and that he still has it as a tight end. He is picked up by a team in a newly created league, the Columbus Comets. He is committed to give it all he has got. Jodi’s business partner and best friend, Becca, asks her to do her a favor, to go take her place on a blind date. Jodi reluctantly agrees and it turns out to be the worst date ever but thanks to a quick thinking savior the night ends well. I loved how Jodi and Caleb first meet, also loved how everything plays out in this book. The story flows naturally and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, both relationship and team, some angst, some twists & turns, heartfelt moments and some hot romance. S.R. Grey, thank you for another great and entertaining story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Reagan West and Teddy Hamilton are fabulous narrators and voice artists. They do a fantastic job portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture and project the characters emotions into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen
Five fair catchy stars! A surprising football romance. Refreshing & captivating.
Gah! Where has S.R. Grey been all my life? Fair Catch was my first read from this wonderful author and let me tell you one thing, she surprised me in the most beautiful ways. Her writing is refreshing and captivating. She took a well-developed football romance to a new hilarious level! I do really love a good game and this book just gave me that. It has its ups, downs and laugh out loud moments that warmed my heart making me forget the world around me. It has all the right elements to keep readers craving more and more. S.R. Grey did a stunning job on this book.
Fair Catch is the second book in the Men of Fall series, it’s the story of Jodi and Caleb and it’s narrated in dual POV’s, so you won’t miss a thing about these two. It’s a charming sports romance and a lovely written story which is funny, with witty banter and with just a bit of suspense, which all kept me hooked and intrigued throughout.
As soon as I dove into the Men of Fall world, I don’t want to up. I wanted to stay and befriend Jodi and Caleb. They were so reliable and real that I could help but love them. Their story is one hell of a ride, unique and different. Caleb is a football player who lives for the game. Jodi is a wedding planner who can make anyone’s dreams true but when it comes to her, she is pretty reserved and happily ever after are not her thing, she doesn’t believe in them. When their world collide sparks will fly around them and everything will change. The chemistry they share is so intense. The way they met was exciting. A blind date going bad. A rescue. Just glad Jodi didn’t end up with Dumbo.
There were twists and turns that kept things to the edge. Caleb wasn’t looking for a distraction of his end game because he was there to play football. And Jodi just was helping a friend. But fate has mysterious ways to work. From the beginning, Caleb wanted to keep things casual with Jodi because he didn’t know I he will stay but what quickly developed between him and Jodi was obviously the furthest thing from casual and he would give anything to stay a part of the losing team if it meant he’d get to keep her.
This book gave me everything I love in a sports romance. Love, loyalty, dreams, desire as well as secrets, deceive and so much more. Amusing. Captivating. Addicting. A humorous and refreshing mix with sweet moments, witty dialogue, playful plot and compelling characters with strong chemistry.
This was a nice read. I’m definitely checking out other books by this author.
A cute closed-door romance. I enjoyed how Caleb was portrayed as a sweet, kind, caring football player. Jodi handled the silence in between text messages like a pro. Not many women would be ok with silence for a full week. It was very fun, flirty sports love story.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Catching hotness everywhere!
By a strange twist of fate, Caleb comes to Jodi’s ‘rescue’ from a bad blind date that wasn’t even hers! It was a favor for her bestie which was the worst turned to the best ‘date’ ever. Their instant connection was so sweet. This was fun even though sometimes frustrating with the messes they get in.
The football elements are written very well – always a major plus!
I feel that this book should be the first book in this series since it takes place before book 1, Forward Progress (which is also a fun read!) and basically leads into it.
(I received a complimentary copy of this book from Hidden Gems.)
I’m definitely a sports romance junkie. As the song goes: my favorite season? Football (though baseball and hockey are not far behind; and I have fun joining “my guys” – sweetie and son – watching soccer). No surprise then S.R. Grey’s Men of Fall series is such a pleasure. It’s sooo well written. Just read Jodi and Caleb’s story in Fair Catch (Book 2) and I’m sure you’ll agree. Totally delicious, and totally recommended.
Caleb is focused on his football career when he meets Jodi. Jodi is on a disastrous date when she is rescued buy Caleb. This is a fun and witty story. Both characters are pleasant and easy to like. They have to overcome fears and a crazy teammate to make their relationship work. A good fun read.
Fair Catch by S.R. Grey is the second book in the Men of Fall series and gives us a fun and charming sports romance. Caleb is dealing with so much right now, including an unsure future. The last thing he has time for is romance. Then a sweet and sassy wedding planner enters his life. Jodi does not believe in love after being hurt before. And yet she is drawn to Caleb. Together they share great chemistry and I loved the banter between them. A quick, sexy and charming read!
Happy reading!
Very enjoyable read.
Caleb Fortier, tight end for the Comets, is dead set against having any type of serious relationship with the fairer sex. His main focus is football and proving to everyone that he’s still a force to be reckoned with on the field.
Jodi Knapp doesn’t believe in love and romance like her bestie, Becca does. Ironic, seeing as how they own a wedding consulting business together. But maybe Becca, the hopeless romantic, is on to something when a disastrous situation turns out to be the luckiest day in both Caleb and Jodi’s lives.
I liked the characters and the way they hit it off from the beginning. The way they met was hilarious, a sort of knight in shining armor situation. There’s some drama and some obstacles for them including the self-imposed kind which Caleb needs to work through if he wants to be with Jodi. I love that she gets in his face and demands answers from him. She’s one kick-ass woman. Overall a sweet and enjoyable read and I would definitely recommended it.
5 Star Review Fair Catch (Men of Fall #2) by S.R.Grey
Book two in the latest exciting new series from S.R. Grey and I was so excited to dive in.
They believe that tight end, Caleb Fortier is washed up, but he is bound and determined to prove the critics wrong. He has no time for love and yet fate steps in to put a spanner in his plans in the form of Jodi Knapp.
Jodi has been disappointed in the past and although she is a wedding planner, she does not believe in love or a happily ever after.
When Caleb rescues Jodi, he has no idea that their lives will change in a variety of ways. Although they are both attracted to one another, neither are ready to pursue the chemistry between them which is off the charts.
Will Caleb be able to show Jodi that love is real or will he remain focused on football?
I really loved both Caleb and Jodi, separately and especially together. Fair Catch is extremely well written with characters that will engage you and a story that will draw you in, hook, line and sinker. There was plenty of steam, laughter and romance and I absolutely devoured it. Caleb is certainly swoon worthy and Jodi is a woman who could certainly be a friend.
This was a great addition to the series and I cannot wait to see who will be next in the Men of Fall series.
Where to start and what to say that will do this fantastic read justice !!!
This is a book that will draw you in from the first page and have you sitting on the edge of your seat until the last page and I’m sure like me you will find yourself loving everything about Caleb and Jodi’s fun entertaining story.
Caleb has just signed a contract with a new football team in a new league and this season is meant to be all about football, he is focused on winning but the problem is not all of the team have winning on their minds. When Caleb rescues Jodi from a disasterous blind date he finds himself thinking about the beautiful woman when he should be concentrating on football will he choose love or his career or maybe it’s possible to have both……
This book ticked all my boxes, I loved the characters, the story and the banter was funny and natural.
The characters are easy to relate to and throughout this book I found myself thinking what fun it would be to have a friendship like Jodi and Becca shared. This may be a quick read but it still packs a mighty punch, it’s entertaining and fun with the perfect mix of romance, suspense and humour. Looking forward to book 3 in the Men of Fall Series.
3.5 Stars
I love S.R. Grey’s writing and love her books, but this book wasn’t a favorite of mine. I had a hard time connecting to the characters. It’s a good story, but I felt detached from the characters. I really liked Caleb. He’s good book boyfriend material. I loved Caleb and Jodi’s date at the fair. That was my favorite scene in the book. I really didn’t like Dan, Caleb’s teammate. Though I wasn’t the only one because he rubbed many people the wrong way in the book. I was waiting for karma to deliver some justice. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
Fair Catch is the second book in Men of Fall series. While this is part of a series, you can definitely read it as a standalone and not have any issues at all. NFL player Caleb has relocated to play on a new team in the league. He knows he’s got to keep his head in the game, and play hard. Until he looks across the bar and sees the sexiest lady, and saves the day. Jodi is a sassy spitfire, and wedding planner. It been awhile since a man has turned her head but the moment she meets Caleb sparks start flying. Great read!
Fair Catch will put a smile on your face! This is a romantic sports comedy that you won’t be able to put down, you’ll fall for Caleb and Jodi instantly.
This lady can put a smile on my face just by knowing that a new book is coming my way.
Every single one of them can make me smile, dream and have some pretty hot flashes. Lol
I’ve started loving this author’s writing with her sports series and now… Oh boy now…
Just a look at this new cover… Do it… Do it now and drool.
S. R. Grey is the author I’m talking about and you need to give her a chance.
Fair Catch is her latest release and it’s the second book from the Men of Fall series.
This new book explores the lives of Caleb and Jodi. And I need to read book 1.
Caleb is a football player that lives for the game. When he’s signed up for a new team he thought that his career wasn’t over but…
Jodi being a wedding planner should believe in happily ever after but nope. She can make everyone’s dreams come true but for her, she’s a bit reserved. When she’s sent Inna blind date…
OH, my word… What was this?
This book is freaking awesome…
Once I started to read it I simply couldn’t outburst down. It was that addictive.
The chemistry these two shares is so intense that will give you some hot flashes. You’ll see once you start to read it.
This book will give you love, loyalty, dreams, desire as well as lies, deceive and so much more.
Each chapter will hook you up even more than the latest. You’ll see.
So I advise you to clean your schedule because starting this book you will only stop when The End appears.
S. R. Grey… What can I say? You nailed it. This series is getting better and better and I can’t wait to read the next book.I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I really like this series and I love this author!!
Every book I’ve ever read by SR Grey has made me so damn happy. The story of Caleb and Jodi was no different. It was fun and sweet with just enough angst to keep you captivated but still keeping the easy romantic feel of the story! Well done once again!
