From the acclaimed author of the Tales of Aylfenhame comes a stunning new fairy tale, replete with “large helpings of wit and whimsy” (Publisher’s Weekly)When the centuries-barren orchards of Berrie-on-the-Wyn suddenly bear fruit, it is clear that something strange is afoot — and something fey, for this is no ordinary harvest. To partake of the fruits of Faerie is to be changed for good, but not … be changed for good, but not necessarily for the better.
From whence come the golden apples, the moonlit silver pears? Who is the motley piper who walks the streets of Berrie, drawing forth magic and mayhem with his music? And how can half of the town vanish into thin air?
There may be chaos aplenty in Berrie, but all that’s needed to set things straight is a touch of the right light — and maybe just the right pair of Boots…

Was a good read. Kept my interest.
I had a hard time with some of the old English and had to refer to their meaning, but this is me.
Loved it very entertaining
It’s hard to define. There’s village.. or two.. that are split between the ‘real world’ and the realm of Fairie. It’s complex, twisting back and forth between multiple characters and worlds.
The author has come up with an good plot…what of the lands on which we love we’re really faerie lands, swallowed up when the magic became weaker. What would have if the stolen faerie fruit trees bear fruit and mere humans eat it? Buried in the story is a tale of love and redemption.
The prose is beautiful, the plot is good, the execution is slow making this a book that will do well on vacation.
This book is difficult to get into, and then you are enchanted. You dive into this world of magic and unpredictable characters, written in very poetic prose – and you are lost. You get enchanted by the idea of the magic fruit and worried by the plight of the fae. Another nice feature is that is basically a collection of unique characters and their adventures within an overarching story. This is a very good read.
Boring, because there’s not much of a plot. I only finished the book to see if there was a punchline. The town and the people in it are a cross pollination between human and fairie.
An interesting little fairy tale
I had to delete it around page 35. It was boring and silly.
The first half of the book was entertaining. Then things got twisted which was okay. Except previous characters disappeared, new characters introduced…it got confusing. The ending fell flat…I read the last few chapters 3 times thinking I had missed something! I think the author got tired!
The book is very slow moving do to adjectives! I’m just used to the quick movement do to adverbs!
too wierd for me
Could not finish reading it
Just couldn’t get into the story, tried twice even.
Found it quite difficult to get into due to a combination of not getting immersed into world and slow plotting.
A bizarre read of fairy tale world. Not at all what you expect.
I did not care for this book
Boring, didn’t finish
found it difficult to get into, confusing
Fun book. You kind of get caught up in the characters.
