Celtic mythology blends beautifully with the modern world in this contemporary fantasy romance: The Mortal Instruments meets The Iron Fey.”If you love the tales of the ancient Celt and Fae intertwined with modern romance, then you will love the first book of this trilogy.“ ★★★★★
I never heard him come after me and even as I climbed the slope and stumbled onto our shaded back lawn, I didn’t … even as I climbed the slope and stumbled onto our shaded back lawn, I didn’t look back. It was like the day the gnomes chased me all over again, but this time I was not escaping some horrible little creatures, I was fleeing from an incredibly good-looking guy who could very well understand me completely. I was either saving myself from that serial killer I always imagined lived down in the swamp, or I had finally gone over the deep end . . .
Meghan Elam has been strange her entire life: her eyes have this odd habit of changing color and she sees and hears things no one else does. When the visions and voices in her head start to get worse, she is convinced that her parents will want to drag her off to another psychiatrist. That is, until the mysterious Cade MacRoich shows up out of nowhere with an explanation of his own.
Cade brings her news of another realm where goblins and gnomes are the norm, a place where whispering spirits exist in the very earth, and a world where Meghan just might find the answers she has always sought.

I really enjoyed this whole series. It gets better with each installment, which is not always the case in most series. Have to say though, I liked the first covers better. The beautiful art truly reflected what was to come.
Good read. Compelling story. A little slow at first but hang in there, it’s worth it!
Captivating story. Great read, looking forward to the next in the series.
I read this book quite a while ago. My standard question with any book is, “would I read it again?”. With all the ins and outs, ups and downs it was just as great as the first time, so YES I would read it again. There was so much information that I would have to read it at least five times to get all of the details. I love the old Celtic stories, …

I never heard him come after me and even as …
This was a fun read with a peppy voice for the main character. Meghan fell in “love” super fast after a few meetings with Cade, but that’s pretty normal for YA novels (young adult, for teens). The book left some unanswered questions for the next book. I would’ve liked to have seen more growth and/or skill with Meghan’s powers being developed and …
Just how does one find the door?
The research necessary for such details! I enjoy seeing familiar boundaries. Especially, enjoy studying along with the character. Wondering about our origin seems a universal pull. How will the knowledge serve us?
Good first book in the series. I enjoyed the characters and the story. Author did a good job keeping me enthralled and turning the pages so I could find out what would happen.
Can’t tell about “happily ever after” from just this book in the series but it left me hoping it would turn out that way.
A well written, cute young adult novel. Even though Meghan isn’t your typical teenager, the author does a great job describing typical teenage life. Her crush and confused feelings for Cade are so exasperating and classic of those lovely years. I loved the Celtic/Fae parts of the story- I just wish it didn’t feel like I was reading a text book. …
A bit slow, but the next in the series is fantastic!
A very good read, a book that was very hard to put down. I really enjoyed the time to read this novel.
An exciting start to this new series on Celtic mythology. I really enjoyed the characters and feel like there’s still so much to learn about this world and the characters in it. I can’t wait to discover more.
I absolutely loved this book! The characters were well written and engaging. This story let such a vivid mental picture flow it was as if the words were painted into pictures for me. I couldn’t put this book down. Having the Celtic world meet the Fae world in modern times. What a beautiful world created.
loved it, it was very whimsical, and different. Slow start, but just be patient it goods good and is worth the wait. Can’t wait to read the others in this series.
Love this entire series.
Exciting, different, very whimsical….So sad that this book never completely downloaded so I was left in the air as to how it ended
This is an interesting story of fantasy. The story builds up slowly, but it’s worth reading it.
An amazing read!!! The story is very original and the characters will make you hate them, love them and loathe them.
Already ordered the sequel
