Interesting that the characters seems to prefer to bury their heads in the sand rather than face the truth. Even when they know that they are lying to themselves, they still do that… even though they are teachers or alpha, who should know better.

This was different take on the Sanmere Shifters. This time about the Fae. This was a truly dark story at the beginning. Catherine is taken an forced to take a potion that turned her into a fae. She is kept as a captive by the Fae Lord, forced to have his child, and then caged for over twenty years. But she beats him at his game because she befriends a witch who agrees to make it look like Catherin’s child died, and Polly the witch takes the child and raises her as her own. Now that Laila is an adult, she ends up in the same town as her father, teaching at a school. If he finds out she is alive he will sell her for money. But can the friends she has made, her new love, and her mom Polly save her? And where is her birth mom? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
