From Fae Slayer to renegade rebel. My instincts are flashing like a neon sign—the Academy can’t be trusted.I’ve glimpsed the true heart of a Fae prince. Fiore is kind, merciful and saved my life. Now he’s missing. I must journey to the Fae realm, but it couldn’t be more treacherous. Especially with Nyeer, the Fae prince who tried to kill me. But loathing soon turns to lust and Nyeer strips away my … turns to lust and Nyeer strips away my defenses—along with my clothes…
Until my heart’s in just as much danger as my life.
Magic lessons and weapons classes were child’s play compared to the fight to rescue Fiore and protect the Fae Kingdom.
And to save three Fae princes, their Kingdom’s only defense… I may have to give them up forever.
Author warning: This book is much hotter than book 1.
***Fae Hunter is the second book in a College-age Paranormal Reverse Harem Academy series.
#whychoose romance at it’s finest!

Good plot line and pretty original considering slayers, academies, and reverse harems are all vary popular categories. The slayers hunting fae isn’t used very often from what I’ve come across and I thought it was well done, however it lacked interactions with any fae other in any context other than the three princes that show up in the first book as well as her classes and other students. It feels like its focusing too much on just a few plotlines of the overall story and not showing a rounded view of the characters life at the Slayer Academy. The origins of the slayers was very sketchy and not really explained at all. Where did their magic come from? Where did they come from? Also, in the first book it was explicitly stated she was a 5th generation and she told her class that too, but this book she claims to be a 3rd generation and her mom says she a 5th as well as not to tell anyone. The action was little in both books so far and seems to be mainly setting up the story for the third book. The end leaves on a big cliffhanger and paired with hints in the book it eludes to a big reveal coming up in the third book.
Book review of Book 2; Fae Hunter by Amelia Shaw
There is something to be said about a book so well written that you get drawn into the world, the characters. I had the distinct please of experiencing this again with Book 2 of The Slayer Academy.
Meg is drawn to the beautiful Fae men she has met and Faerie as a whole. Feels more st home there than the home she grew up in.
What will happen to Meg and the Fae Princes?
I received this as an Advance reader copy with the hopes I would like it and review it.

I enjoyed this fantasy read from Amelia Shaw who is probably better known for her Wolf theme series. The main female character is not much of a physical fighter, but her love for and the patient instruction of her Fae teacher make her stronger; able to accomplish more than she ever thought she could. This is book two of the series, which I was able to follow well enough without reading the first book but there are probably just as many things that I am totally missing. So I will probably go ahead and get book one AND three because this one ends in a climactic scene. How will it end? Happily, I hope!
Veiled themes of bigotry (aka xenophobia or ethnocentricity) seem to be the main conflict of the story. Since this is the middle book, this reader is unsure if it will be discovered that the slayers are actually part Fae themselves or not. That is, if Fae and humans COULD have children together, then they are not different races/species at all, but merely very distant relatives and the conflict would be more along the lines of fear, greed, jealousy, or conquest. I’m guessing by clues dropped along the way that a combination of these reasons may be the true motive behind the Acadamy’s Fae-hating teachings.

So I loved book one but this second book is sexier and even hotter then the first! Well written this world that the author has built is just fantastic and you can easily visualise the academy and it’s characters! Love Meg and her Fae men, love the storyline, not sure if I love the twists and surprises but I do know that I really want to read the next book to see where it finishes!
We have mystery and suspense. Magara and Brutice broke it off at Christmas break, but now back at school what will happen? The bullying by students seem to be getting worse. Fiore has not made contact with Magara. Nyeer one of the Fae princes is calling to her? Where is Fiore? What does Nyeer want? Can I find my Fae? What are these feelings for the other Fae Princes? What is really going on at the academy? Who should Magara trust and is her life in danger? Why is she not like her mom?

The second book in this series and I am still just as addicted to it. Love these characters so much. She has to go to the fae forest to look to the fae prince and knows it dangerous. Just really could not put down at all.
Fae Hunter by Amelia Shaw is the second book in The Slayer Academy. This book begins after the two week Christmas break when Megara returns to the Slayer Academy for her second semester. At this time she focuses on trying to find out as much about the Fae as she can. This leads her into more trouble than she can handle when she stumbles onto more than one secret the Slayer Academy is keeping. This book is full of surprising twists and turns that eventually lead to an unexpected and spicy romance. It was a compelling read right until the very last page. I loved reading this amazing story even though it ended with an surprising cliff hanger. Fae Hunter is a wonderful mix of suspense, intrigue, and mystery.
This book had me entertained from the beginning I loved how the characters are written making the storyline interesting with each turn of the page.

This is the second story in a three story series of Slayer Academy. You don’t have to read the first to grasp what is going on in the second story, but it does help.
I really enjoyed this story. The world building is fantastic in creating the Academy where college age Slayers are trained to kill the Fae. At least, they are taught that the Fae are evil and manipulative. The characters in this story are brought to live and you can visualize them like you are watching a movie as you read. Yes, it kind of hard to visualize pointed ears, but we have seen them in movies before.
Megara is coming back from Winter break and she just as she is about to leave the library, she sees something out the window and goes to investigate. She already knows that she has to be out after curfew, but she has to find out what is going on. She sneaks around and when she gets to where she saw the light, she is attacked. She fights back, but she is really bad at hand to hand combat. As the guy has his hands around her throat squeezing, she realizes it was one of the Fae Princes that had tried to kill her before. He realizes that she is Meg, whom Fiore, one of the Fae Princes, has claimed as his. Nyeer, another of the Fae Princes, tells her that something has happened to Fiore and he needs her help. She has to read up on Calico and he will be back in three days to talk with her again. Of course she gets caught sneaking into the dorm at midnight when the curfew was at 10 pm. She gets three days detention, which she uses to read more about Calico.
Nyeer was there when Fiore claimed Meg, being that the Fae Princes were trying to kill her at the time. Now they know that she isn’t an enemy of theirs, he needs her help. He shows up after the three days, and acts like he is kidnapping her, should anyone see what was happening. He brings her to Fae and takes her to his kingdom where he tells her that Fiore has been kidnapped but they don’t know exactly who has him. It could be a rouge group of Fae or it could be the Slayers. When Meg told him what she saw in the crystal ball, they know where to look. Meanwhile, Neyeer has been trying to train her in hand to hand so when they have to fight slayers to get Fiore back, she won’t die. Meanwhile, they fall for each other.

We start this book at the beginning of a new term, Meg has just spent the last two weeks at her parents, catching up with her BFF and family. But now she’s back, her mission is clear …… Find evidence that the Fae aren’t as bad as the history books say they are.
Megara/Meg has decided that she’s not going to hunt and kill the evil Fae, she’s going to find out what the truth is, and she feels like the Fae have had a raw deal for centuries. But proving it will be difficult, she can’t tell her roommates, she can’t tell Brutus (sparring partner and part time lover) she can’t even ask the librarian. She’s on this mission alone. She just needs to speak to Fiore or Nyeer (one of the Fae leaders)
She gets her wish sooner than she anticipated, a portal opens and a figure emerges…..
Fiore is missing!!! Meg needs to do something, she feels like it’s her fault. She needs to do research whilst waiting for Nyeer to return in three days time.
After meeting up with Nyeer, he takes her back to his castle (he is one of the three princes that rules the Fae kingdom, Fiore being one of the others)
Teaching Meg defence movements has her all hot and bothered, and before you know it Meg and Nyeer are going at it like bunny rabbits (this not I found a bit disconcerting, if there is a connection between Fiore and Meg, why is she in bed with Nyeer?)
The third prince (Everly) makes an appearance at the castle and is disgusted that no one is looking for the third Prince (Fiore) Meg is feeling really guilty and steps up the attempts to find Fiore……
With luck and a little magic, they find where Fiore is being held, and plan a rescue.
Do they rescue Fiore? Will Megara have to chose? And who will it be?
And boy is it a cliffhanger ending……
This book is more racer than the first, it felt like it was heading towards a reverse harem (three guys one woman)
I think this could have been a good read. No where in the synopsis did I read that this is a continuing story with a **warning–cliffhanger! Megara is an up and coming slayer or is she? She’s siding with the fae princes as she follows her heart or her libido. Finding some of her true powers when it appears it’s too late. I would suggest waiting until the next book is published and read the whole series, books 1 thru 3, like 1 book, as this one alone just didn’t flow for me with a good start OR a good ending.

So this is the follow up to The Legacy: Slayer Academy. So my biggest issue with this book was the name change for the Fae Princes. So in the beginning, I had no clue what was going on BECAUSE THE NAMES WERE DIFFERENT.
Other than that, this was a great book. It was bringing the story together really well. I would like more information as to what is causing the animosity with both the Fae and Humans. This was more focused on the Fae Princes and Magera exploration of herself. Magera is determined to find out what is really going on and what is the root cause. However, I do not think she expected to find the deep emotions she was feeling for all three princes. She feels like she should only be with one but she cannot deny her feelings. The chemistry with Nyeer IS FREAKING HOT!!! Magera also goes to Faerie because something happens to Fiore. She learns some pretty interesting things about the Fae and The Slayer Academy. So I think Magera is still trying to get her bearings with the Academy, but I will say that she does listen to her instincts and that has yet to fail her. There is a major event that takes place and it gets crazy. I would really like to know what happens next. There is a cliffhanger so be prepared….

Things definitely heat up in this second book of a paranormal academy series. Megara returns to school after winter break more determined than ever to discover the truth behind the war between humans and Fae. While she receives encouragement from her mom to follow her instincts, everyone at the school is firm in their belief that the Fae are evil. When Nyeer, another one of the Fae Princes, abducts her to seek her help to find the missing Prince Fiore, she finds her heart divided. As they work together looking for answers, things between them begin to heat up. Despite her connection to Fiore, she can’t resist the draw to Nyeer, and training sessions to prepare for the rescue soon lead to more. When the final Prince, Everly, confronts them on their lack of progress, Megara realizes that the time to act has finally come. While surprised that she’s attracted to all three princes, she believes that she’s finally found her place, and it’s at all of their sides. But first she must return to Slayer Academy to rescue Fiore, and the resulting battle leads to some surprising discoveries about both herself and the Slayers and a heart-breaking ending that left me anxious to read the next book to find out how it all turns out.
