My greatest enemy is my only possible ally. From USA Today bestselling author Sarah K. L. Wilson comes this completed series – a deliciously trope-filled young adult romantic fantasy about a viciously funny mortal girl and her quest to hunt, trap, and conquer powerful fae. I was born to hunt. I was born to protect. But this is the one creature I wasn’t trained to kill. The fae are sneaking into … are sneaking into our little town. They stole my sister. They stole my sight. And now they’re going to steal everything else … unless I stop them. Isn’t that so charming? I don’t care that they’re pretty. I don’t care that to them lies are truth, power is sustenance, and every action ripples into violence. I’m not going to let their glamor fool me. I’m going to use it to fuel me as I bring them down. But the town is turning against me, and I’m losing allies one by one. I need a secret weapon to use against them and I need to be brave enough to use it … whatever the cost. Can one mortal girl stop all of the Faewald? I’m going to have to try. For lovers of The Cruel Prince and An Enchantment of Ravens comes a world of violent fae, trickery, and magic. Fae Hunter by Sarah K.L. Wilson is the first book in a brand new series that puts a twist on the fae. They aren’t what they seem and Allie, the human hunter, is out to kill them. Allie is facing monsters, trying to protect her village from worse than they’ve already experienced, but the people have lost faith in her. It doesn’t help that the boy she loves is interested in someone else or that she’s attracted to one particular Fae that she’s caught and plans to kill. Things go from bad to worse for Allie. This is a series and ends at a good stopping point, but also a cliffhanger. Once you start you won’t want to stop.! If you like fantasy and adventure with some romance, then you’ll enjoy Sarah’s books. She writes YA, but I would place her latest series at Upper YA.
Sometimes I’m happy I’ve got Kindle Unlimited. When I discover that one of my favorite authors, Sarah K. L. Wilson, has a new series out, and then find out that – based on its first book, Far Hunter – Tangled Fae is going to be a pretty darn incredible fantasy, well that’s the time to bless KU as I will be addictively following this one. I loved Allie Hunter, the kick-a** lead in this tale. I expect that anyone else would too. The odds might look bad for her but I’d bet on her vs all of Faerieland. I’m also quite happy to bet that the remaining books in this new series will be equally fantastic. No surprise that I highly recommend this one.
What a awesome read lots of twists and turns your sister goes into the ring and goes into another world a must read
Twin sisters went to the stone to dance. One to fulfill a childhood dream and one to live out a nightmare.
Hulanna convinced her sister Allie to dance with her at the stones hoping to open the portal to the fairies. Once they did, Hulanna willingly left a Shining One. Another came after and chased Allie trying to catch her. During the chase, Allie gets knocked out.
When she wakes up she can no longer see the world like she used to. Hulanna is gone. Her father a Hunter has to find her and the other suddenly missing items in the village. As a Hunter herself, Allie wants to go with him, but her blindness makes her a hindrance.
When she follows a trail that only she can see catastrophe abounds changing the lives of everyone in the village. Pitting family member against family member. The town against Allie. Friends become enemies.
And a blind mortal girl becomes the Fae Hunter.
I really enjoyed this adventure. Fae Hunter (B07XLPZTFR, 2019) is the first book in the “Tangled Fae” series by Sarah K.L. Wilson. Wilson puts us in the action immediately and fills us in on the back story along the way. She constantly keeps us going from one disaster or misadventure to another. There is always something going on for Allie.
It is almost like there are no commercial breaks, so you cannot put down the book because you might miss something. The story is a quick read. Wilson breaks it down into two books so you do get that intermission break (laugh). There is plenty of high stakes drama, folklore, and gruesome details to sink your teeth into.
The story takes twists and turns I did not see coming and others you kind of guess will come, but then they come with a really big twist that you do not see coming (laugh). Fun. This book is a good time. I look forward to more “tangled” fun in the future!
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
The cover is exceptional…and so is the page-turning story inside! This one gets a RECOMMENDED.
WOW this is a great start to this deliciously trope-filled young adult romantic fantasy about a viciously humorous mortal girl and her quest to hunt, trap, and conquer powerful fae. Well written the author has built an incredible world and along with a gripping and addictive storyline and a fab kick ass heroine who is confident and strong, I cannot wait to read what happens next!
WOW just Wow
After reading this book I was left speachless. It was dark and different from what one expects.
The world and character building were amazing.
Awesome read, well written with a great plot and characters. The world building is phenomenal. This is a fast paced, action packed read, that I couldn’t put down! Allie is the fae hunter and she is confident, strong willed, and determined. I love that the fae in this book aren’t idealized and are cruel, cold and twisted. My only complaints are it has a bit of a cliff hanger and i have to wait for the next book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
This book is quite confusing and doesn’t stop until the end.
Allie is a twin, and her sister is taken by the Shining Ones, and Allie is left blind, but can see the Shining Ones, or Fae, and their world. Her mother then gives her a scarf, that if she wraps it around her eyes means she can see again.
Allie wonders off to see if she can find something to bring her sister back, while she is away her father and her friends father go looking for her in the Star Stone Circle, and they also go missing
But while she was away she found a cage that will help her in her task, unfortunately though the whole town has turned against her and blame her for everything.
I finished the book and enjoyed the banter that Allie had with the Fae that she trapped in her Cage of Souls, I’m left confused and not sure if I want to read book 2.
This book was slow to get started, and when it did it was confusing and ended
“That mandolin was a thing of heaven and hell mixed in a melody that scorches furrows into the heart.”
This family-friendly faerie tale takes a day to read, and I can barely wait for the next book!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow, there is so much to love in this series! I love the world and my heart strings are totally being pulled for the heroine and what she is going through. I’m excited for the next book in the series! I have so many questions about the world, and hopefully more answers are forthcoming!
WOW! AMAZING!
WOW! This is the first book I have ever read by this author and I am just blown away! Right from page one I was transported into a world of magic and mayhem. So much good and evil but you don’t know who is good and who may be evil. I know book one is just setting the stage for the rest of the series but WOW OH WOW, the imagery of this amazing authors words and the weaving of what is sure to be a fantastic tale, kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of what was going to happen next. It was a thrilling rush!
Allie is going to be one amazing, kickass hunter (she is pretty amazing right now but she’s got some learning to do). She’s witty, fierce and it takes a lot to bring her down. I am cheering for her to succeed even though some pretty nasty things keep happening to her. And that ending – WTF!!! That was one serious cliffhanger and I totally hate the Fae right now!
All of the characters were intriguing and captivating. You either loved them or hated them, no in between. I loved how they were all different and unique in their own ways. They all seem to play a part in Allie’s downfall or success.
I enjoyed everything about this story and I am very excited but waiting patently for the next book. I highly recommend. This is going to be a fantastic series.
That. Was. FANTASTIC! WOW! I loved it! The metamorphosis that came over Allie when her world was changed when the faerie circle was opened. I need the next book!
When you lose something, you often gain something else
Allie is learning to be a Hunter from her dad. Whenever she is afraid, he tells her to use the fear to make herself stronger. Allie’s twin sister Hulanna, convinces her to dance at the Star Stone Circle. Then Hulanna disappears with a prince from the circle. Allie loses her sight running from a fae that comes out of the circle but she gains a new sight. She now sees people in a different way. The people in the village are unkind and getting crueler each day. The plot is intense and the characters are well developed. There is drama and some twists and turns. Allie is learning about the fae with some help from a fae that she captures. He is also learning about her and how she will react to things. There is a lot of action and some humor. Allie is strong and a little too trusting. She really wants everyone to have some good in them. She wants to like people and to be liked by them. She is likable. The book has a great storyline and I often felt like I was there. It is very well developed.
I loved this book. It grabbed me right from the word go. Allie and her twin sister, Hulanna, went to the faerie circle to dance and Hulanna was taken by a beautiful Fae. Allie will do anything to get her sister back. She overcomes pain and the resentment of the villagers to become the hunter – like her father. She is determined to get her sister back, no matter what it takes.
A fantastic read that grabs you from the first page to the last. The Author has done a fantastic job at bringing this book to fruition. The scenes are written so well that I can picture them in my minds eye. This is a real page turner with twists and turns that keeps you enthralled with this read. I definitely recommend this captivating read. Its a must read.

This is a review after I requested an ARC book.
I want into this with am open mind as I haven’t read many books about fae or fairies since I was a child reading Enid Blyton’s books.
I can honestly say that I’m so glad I read this book as it’s so well written!
Sarah writes a fantastical tale that’s a little bit twisted but beautiful all at once.
The world building is descriptive without being overly so and the characters are well defined. An easy read that will definitely leave you wanting more!Sarah K. L. Wilson
This is the first book I have read from this author and, I have to say, I am a HUGE fan now. Fae Hunter was not what I was expecting. This isn’t a book with beautiful, romanticized fae… and that’s what makes it amazing. The fae in this book are cold, cruel, and twisted, just as they should be! The original fairy tales were dark and often deadly with sometimes gruesome depictions of consequences for the characters’ actions. I love that this story feels like a callback to those original stories. It is so much more interesting than just another story about a pretty girl and an otherworldly beautiful fae falling in love. Allie Hunter is a survivor and a fighter and I can’t wait to see how she tackles her fae problem in the books to come. Small warning, it is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end.
