What do sexy fae lords, a vampire assassin, and a mysterious castle have in common?Yours truly.Yeah no, I did not plan this. When my bestie and I opened a fabulous bakery, I planned to live a long life shoving pumpkin muffins into my face hole and working them off during my self-defense class. But when a castle full of ridiculously gorgeous immortals showed up on the ley line running through my … up on the ley line running through my small town outside Nashville, my life changed.
A lot. Like a lot, a lot.
Because of an ancient curse, the immortals can’t leave the castle without turning to ash. But when the most powerful fae lord uses his seductive power to lure me close, to psychically feed on my aura, he successfully steps out of the castle for the first time.
Now the fae want all of my supposedly special blood to break the curse. Until I can somehow shove the immortals back into whatever magical hole they crawled out of, my life is forfeit.
I have a plan. But said plan didn’t account for the insane feelings I’m starting to have for the alpha of the group…
FAE CURSE is the steamy first book in the Yew Queen Trilogy, and it’s perfect for KF Breene, Laura Thalassa, Annette Marie, Linsey Hall, and CN Crawford fans!

A little steamy romance with lots of magic and spells.
This book was absolutely amazing and I devoured it. How would you act if a castle magically popped upon your town and you’re the only one that can see it? The snarky, smart ass Coren was an absolutely relatable character. Add in 3 sexy faes, a vampire, and a super loyal best friend and you come away with an amazing tale. Though this story isn’t considered “clean” fantasy, the descriptions aren’t too over the top. This series promises to be absolutely amazing.
This book is funny and snarky. Both Coren and Hekla as such fun, strong, funny women. All the fae and the vampire and even some of the mages I question if I like them or not. This book was a quick read. It was interesting to see how Coren came to find Lucus and his brothers. The more interesting part is between Lucus and Coren. I am curious to see where Coren will end up and how she will ge there.t
A story that draws you in and keeps you glued to it and doesn’t let go. It is full of mystery and suspense. It is intriguing and has amazing characters. I loved how feisty and charming Coren was. Lucas is a tortured soul who has such love in him. The chemistry between all the characters is definitely felt throughout the story. The edition I read was well written. It is one that has vivid descriptions that are easily able to be pictured. I can’t wait to see how the story proceeds. Yes, it does end in a cliffhanger but the ride getting to the next one superb. It is definitely a must read!!!!!!
Add in chocolate croissants, motorcycling, and sexy supernaturals with humor and we’ve got a Winner! Fae Curse is fun and funny. Coren cracked me up all throughout.
INCREDIBLE READ!!! The back story for Lucus and his brothers is heartbreaking, inspiring, courageous, and it was so wicked for the MAGE to do that to them!! This is one heck of an imaginative book!!! I couldn’t put it down for a minute!!
It is a must read and Eve A. Hunt is now on my favorite author list!!
This is what every fantasy reader dreams of! I absolutely loved this story and fell in love with the characters and relatability of it. Hunt presents a familiar world with routine, friendships, and small town feel then upends that with an even more fantastical fantasy world. The characters are dimensional, self-assured, and contain little pieces that left me feeling emotionally tied to them. I loved Coren’s strength, Lucas’s dedication, Hekla’s support, and Kaippa’s mystery and hilarious lines. The story kept me glued to the pages and gave me all the feels while also taking me on an adventure. I can’t wait for the next book and will be awaiting my own purple thunderstorm!
This was a fun and entertaining read. It was my first read from this author, and I can’t wait to read more of this series!
This is an intriguing urban fantasy romance that follows the POV of heroine Coren. It has a mix of humans, Fae, vampires, mages, and others are also mentioned. There’s mystery and adventure with humor and some heat. Coren doesn’t believe in the supernatural, but when she comes face to face with Fae and the vampire, she has no choice not to. She has a strong personality and doesn’t like being pushed around. I like the characters for the most part, but Coren’s voice is sometimes juvenile. The scenes are slightly rushed. It ends on an exciting cliffhanger. I will definitely read further.
I received a free advanced copy of this book, but the review is my own voluntary thoughts!
I really enjoyed this book, I was intrigued from the beginning with the synopsis and the story itself was even better. I could really relate to the MC and really wanted to be in her shoes a lot of the time. She was witty, funny and just the right amount of “take no crap” attitude. I loved her and I loved how the story unfolded. I think this was a great start to a series I am looking very forward to continuing.
Fae Curse is a wickedly delicious enemies to lovers paranormal romance that keeps you coming back for more. Eve A Hunt packed this book with a strong no B.S. heroine, mysterious castle, captivatingly delicious fae lord, hot vampire, and an ancient curse. What’s not to love? Fae Curse had me hooked from beginning to end and craving more. I can’t wait to see where this series takes us.
I highly recommend Fae Curse.
I was given an advance reader copy to read and I am voluntarily leaving a 5 star review.
This is the first book that I have read from Eva A. Hunt, but I assure you it will not be my last! I am still trying to wrap my head around parts of it. What I can tell you is that it was an awesome read; filled with magic, mayhem, adventure, intrigue, danger and some of the kookest (not kinky) romance ever. I will be reading more, because I have a million unanswered questions. Hopefully book 2 will help clear-up some of my confusion 😉
The storyline was fast-paced and well-written. The characters were delightful! I can’t wait to see what book 2 brings!
When I found out that one of my absolute favorite fantasy authors, Alisha Klapheke, was writing fantasy romance under the pseudonym Eve A. Hunt, I knew that I had to grab whatever she’s produced. Sure enough, Fae Curse: Yew Queen Book One was utterly superb. Wonderfully imaginative with its key lines, immortals cursed to be imprisoned in a castle, wonderful heroine who just happens to have the special blood to counter the curse and, of course, sexy alpha guys. “What do sexy fae lords, a vampire assassin, and a mysterious castle have in common?” One heck of a wonderfully snarky heroine and a truly superb novel, that’s what.
Definitely highly recommend deliciousness.
Oh, and if you’ve not tried Alisha Klapheke’s regular fantasy books then you really must do so. You’ll be in for a treat.
3.5 disappointing and not-so-steamy stars
I had such high hopes for this novel but I was sorely letdown. I feel like this novel could have been great, all of the right ingredients were there: fantastical creatures, mystical lore, a devious curse, forbidden love, a snarky heroine. But I don’t think that the author explored any of these elements to their full potential–the creatures were confusing, the lore was confusing, the curse was…confusing (I see a pattern here), the love was unbelievable, and the snarky heroine came off as immature and annoying at times. Overall, I was disappointed and found myself skimming towards the end. I also didn’t highlight many passages of the novel (which is a huge indication of how much I enjoyed a novel for me). I don’t see myself finishing this series.

I gave this book 4 for a few reasons. First let me start out by saying the story is absolutely amazing! The pace of the book was all over the place and some of the writing style was just weird, not sure how else to describe it. So many times it seemed that the author was stuck between slang and common speech as well as being stuck between having characters curse or work around cursing in awkward ways. Given all that this book still sucked me in and had me wanting to kick some sense into people and hug them at the same time… I’m really not a fan of enemies to lover books but this one was done so well. There is some sexy time in here but it’s all clean, which also isn’t my norm (I typically prefer dirty scenes that make you need to shower after) but it fit very well with the overall feeling.
Beware the ending will make you scream in frustration. I mean, can’t I have the next book, like, now?!?
Despite my personal issues with the writing style I highly recommend this book to those who love fae!
I highly recommend reading this book, I love all things fae and this was a great kick off to an awesome series! Miss Alisha did a fabulous job world building and she is just an amazing author. Highly recommend reading any of her books!
I enjoyed every written word of this book. The author gave us well developed and engaging characters that have plenty of chemistry. Easy flowing storyline made it a great read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely love this story. Love the way only the first female can see the cursed castle with the Fae and vampire in there. The backstory of the war between the mages, fae and vampires and how it occurred is intriguing and also an example as to how wars can be started! Punish the many for the mistake of one! I love the characters especially Caren and Lucus and their fated bond and am looking forward to where that will go and what path they will take as they are waring races. I am also looking forward to reading more about Hekla and as to what Hekla’s part in all this is. Is it down to Caren that she can see the men and the castle or is there more to her story? Will Kaippa be back In Book 2 to assist them or will he just go on a killing / feeding spree? Very intriguing , very mysterious and that ending well I really really need the next book ASAP please!!
A great start to a new series full of Fae and magic. I liked the mix of a bit of mystery and magic. I loved how the story starts out like a typical day in Coren’s life and then boom. I was sucked in by the end of the first chapter and was addicting to read it in one sitting just to see what would happen next and how Coren would get out of being the guys snack. I loved the twist of two that also show up and the ending was killer and a great setup for the next book. The characters were fun and cannot wait to see them grow and what craziness they will get into next. Plus what will be revealed next.
This book is the first in a new series and I just can’t wait for more! The main character is such a blast to read about. I found myself pulled in from the get go and really enjoyed the authors writing and her world building. If you like magic, romance and mystery you are sure to enjoy reading about Coren.
Fae Curse is the first book in the Yew Queen Trilogy.
