ONE BEGUILING EXPERIENCE!!!
Busting loose! Green is stacking the cinders, directing the wind and lowering boom, racking up the shenanigans, powering through chaos and roping all the mayhem blowing this baby wide open. Divvying up incredibly, well rounded scenario’s that punch dead center, ramping up the anticipation and adrenaline with such intensity and precision, thrusting this gem to life brilliantly. Blundering through the trials and tribulations, along with a bounty of plot twists and sleek turns, grounding in it’s strength and awe inspiring in it’s depth. Sparks fly as distress, turmoil, drama, danger, treachery and suspense surges as tension spirals. The chemistry and attraction is intense, smoldering and palpable. The personalities are well matched and balanced with enough flaws for diversity. The scenes are strikingly sharp with such colorful descriptions it gives you a full understanding and realism that flow smoothly. Remarkable job Green, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
This book was not what I expected at all. I thought I was getting the typical academy-style book and this was anything but that. This book follows the Dean of Hawthorn Academy Raine O’Keefe and Aoife who was essentially a POW. Raine is living a lie and ignoring his entire family which ends up leading to a much larger problem no one could’ve saw coming. Aoife has been a prisoner since she was 18, but is surprisingly not naive about many things. What they don’t know is Fate always finds a way. When they met sparks fly, but circumstances and speciesism are always hanging over head. The relationship between them feels very natural even though it’s fast, and with little interruption. There were times it felt like the author didn’t know where the story was going and explained it away simply as well as parts that felt forgotten about such as Aoife not knowing about technology. I would’ve liked to see the tech part expanded on because if not what was really the point in mentioning it at all? I really liked how the author tied in characters from a completed trilogy in the same world to expand the reach of the story and give the reader a little wider perspective of the world while not hinging on the previous knowledge of the books. I will definitely try the next book in this the series.
