Will Devon and Caiden discover that their new love is a wrap after the filming ends? Weddings, champagne, and slow dancing. It’s a lethal combination and one that has led film student Devon Maxwell into one awkward predicament. Brought in at the last minute to help his friends Isamu and Brian during their Bryant Park wedding, Devon was not prepared for Caiden Dell to sweep into his life. The … Dell to sweep into his life. The spark of attraction between him and the hip film executive was instantaneous. That spark led them right into Caiden’s big bed for a night of pleasure that Devon will never be able to duplicate no matter how many takes life gives him.
To make things even more complicated, Caiden offers the recently vacated job of office intern to him. He’d be a fool to turn down an offer to work at Budgie in the Dell, the hottest LGBT film production company in the Big Apple. Looks as if Devon’s hopes of working in film are about to come true. He’s ready for days filled with tiring shoots, long hours, and irate actors. He just never dreamed his nights would overflow with passion, laughter, and whispers shared with a gorgeous, older lover.

So hot, so emotional!
I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump the last several days; nothing I’ve read in the last week or so has really moved me emotionally. I love a book that can bring me to tears and V.L. Locey did that perfectly with Devon and Caiden’s story. We met both of them in Nine Small Sips but I don’t think you need to read that book to enjoy this one.
The blurb tells you what the story is about so take a look at it. I’m going to tell you that Devon and Caiden captured and held my interest right from the get-go; I read this story in one sitting. The sexy time in the book is really hot but I also genuinely felt the connection between the two MCs – even if they didn’t really admit it to each other.
Devon is hampered by the way he was brought up – real men don’t ask for help, etc. He also has emotional scars because his homophobic parents threw him out when they found out he’s gay. After spending time on the streets, staying with film producer Caiden is something he can’t afford to let himself get used to.
Caiden has a failed marriage to remind him that falling too fast and too hard isn’t a good idea. While he and Devon spend two fantastic weeks together neither is really communicating with the other and feelings are bound to get hurt.
I cried sad tears and happy tears while reading Fade In and I’m so happy that V.L. Locey’s book is one that finally made me feel something deeply.
A copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book three in the Tales of Bryant series, and while I would RECOMMEND that you read the other two books first, its not really necessary. Books one and two are abotu Isamu and Brian, and this book is about Isamu’s friend, Devon. It woud just give you a better picture of these people and how they interact.
It was the interaction between Brian and Caiden in the first two books that piqued my interest in Caiden! Devon is smitten immediately, and you knew when they eventually came together it was gonna be hot and it really is! I just didn’t expect to he hauled through the emotional wringer too!
Caiden and Devon get together at Brian and Isamu’s wedding and they fall into a brief affair, thats all it can be, cos Caiden leaves twon for 3 months shortly. But Devon can’t fight his feelings and runs. Caiden brings him back, time again until Devon finally calls time, when Caiden is leaving town.
Because a huge chunk of the book is set over two weeks, it IS fast that Devon falls, and utters those 3 little words, and usually I wouldn’t like that but since Devon knows there is a limited time available, he goes in feet first. While Caiden doesn’t say them til MUCH later, I felt he did fell the words for Devon, he showed him in other ways. It’s just, Devon doesn’t see it like that and all his past insecurities come crashing down around his ears.
It’s hot and steamy in places, and sweet and emotional in others. It hit THAT spot in all but one.
Again, its only Devon who has a say, and thats the only reason I can’t stretch to 5 stars! Cos let me tell ya, Devon falling hard and fast for Caiden was great reading but I NEEDED Caiden too, and I don’t get him. So I’m a bit miffed about that!
Adrian is up next, the wedding planner who lost the plot when dealing with Isamu’s Baba (grandmother) and he is a character and a half!
4 solid stars

Sweet and sexy novella set in Bryant Park universe.
I knew the chemistry between Caiden and Devon would be intense. I knew the story would grab a hold of me and make me feel all kinds of things. The humor was terrific as was the hot scenes between Devon and Caiden.
The realness of what members of the LGBTQ community go through not only from ignorant strangers, but sadly sometimes their own family, was well documented in this story.
I simply love these two main characters. They both messed up, they both regretted and they both LOVED, which in the scheme of things, is what is most important. The side characters , introduced to us in this story , that soon became friends and later helpers , on their behalf , were wonderful too.
There was hotness, angst, laughter, affection, angst, HOTNESS… throughout.
Such a fantastic story!
I couldn’t help but hope that the Maaaavalous caterer/ party planner extraordinaire, Adrian, would get his story told.
Dare I hope too that Luis finds his Prince in another story? Fingers crossed!
The Tales of Bryant are incredibly full with colorful characters and amazing emotions. Dev’s and Caiden’s story is not an exception. I loved everything about it and despite a shorter form it’s a complete and wholesome take on a complicated relationship.
I thought Fade In was a sweet, quick, adorable romance. Devon and Caiden were cute and not great at communicating – at least at first. I liked their meet-cute from Nine Small Sips and the story moved swiftly into Fade In. They were hot, sexy and I love the age gap. It was very fast paced and fun to read. I would recommend this book.
In this third Tales of Bryant novella, Devon gets his own story. The full time film student/part time baker of brioche, whom we met briefly in the previous installments, hooks up with film producer Caiden at Isamu’s wedding. He’s not looking for love with a capital L, or to overly complicate his life, but tell that to his heart. This series is a favorite of mine, each installment like a brioche eaten in the park, pure pleasure in every way, over too soon and you are left wanting more.
I really enjoyed this book!! Caiden is a movie producer, money, connections. Meeting Devon, bringing him home with a wild night of sexy and fun, he never thought feelings would get in the way. Devon is from Kansas, thrown out by his parents and left on how own. Going to school, working, living in a crappy apartment, why would Caiden even want to go out with him?
Devon doesn’t want pity, charity, he can do this on his own. But really, when someone opens a door or doors for you, grab them and run through. Don’t hesitate! Sometimes kindness is worth a million bucks!
It’s a fantastic story of fun with feelings and emotions, most of all supporting and encouraging the one you love even when they push you away!
