Laney:Jackson Tate and I are over. Done. Finished. Then again, how do you end something that never really started? Now, three months later we’re being thrown back together for the sake of an investigation and forced to coexist.I thought falling in love with someone who didn’t want to be loved was hard but going into witness protection with the man who ignorantly took my heart? Yeah, that was going … Yeah, that was going to be impossible.
Jackson:
Time and distance were what I needed to forget Laney Thompson. A Jack and Jill bathroom and the bedroom next door was what I got instead. Witness protection on her family’s farm? I was skeptical too, especially with our icy reunion. But the longer I was around her the more I realized how much I needed her.
With her, it was easy to forget.
Forget about my life and who I was, and why we needed things to fade between us in the first place. All I needed was one tragic reminder.
**This book is considered a standalone but does include characters from the book ‘Glimmer.’ If you’d like to see more of just this couple’s origin story, there is also a prequel to this book in the form of a novella called ‘At First Fight’ all of which is exclusively on Amazon.
“I just finished reading Jackson and Laney’s story and I simply couldn’t get enough of these characters… If you love sweet and sassy romance with a dose of suspense, and lovely people who kiss and cuss, this book is perfect for you!”- GoodReads Reviewer
“Fade is seriously one of my favorite books I’ve read this year, if not my favorite. With every one of Ashley’s books, I fall more and more in love with her writing and her stories.”- Author Brittany Taylor

I loved riding.rhe rollercoaster of emotions from laney and Jackson .its a gripping read from.start to finish and makes you question what happens next. It’s a great story of family relationships as well as love I definitely recommend this book.
This was a beautiful emotional story can’t wait to read more from this author.
I love where Ashley lead us with Laney and Jackson’s story. The characters were so much deeper and emotional this time around and I couldn’t help but fall for them all over again. Being immersed in Laney’s world felt like returning home. I loved watching Laney interact with her brothers and I especially loved Jackson’s perspective as he watched on.
If you haven’t been introduced to Laney and Jackson, I strongly suggest reaching for At First Fight before you settle into Fade.
Want even more Laney and Jackson, then you should reach for Glimmer. Glimmer may feature Ramsey and Jimmy’s story but within their story we get our first glance at Laney and Jackson.
This was my first book by Ashley Munoz and I really enjoyed it. It’s full of so many emotional moments. I went from laughing at Laney’s brothers antics tonbeing in a frenzy to find out what was going to happen next. I’m definitely going to go back and read the previous two books in the series.
I went into this wanting so much for Laney and Jackson, and Ashley did not disappoint! The entire relationship is an uphill battle of push and pull, which describes these two characters perfectly. Jackson is perfect with all his flaws; bent, but not broken, despite what he thinks. Laney may have lost some of her fire through events beyond her control, but watching her fight to find herself and stand tall will make you love her all the more. These two couldn’t have been more meant for each other and I loved going on their journey with them!
4.5 Cranky Stars
I really don’t know how to review this because I don’t want to give away a big plot of the story. I will admit I was lost for several chapters thinking ok did I miss something in Ramsey and Jimmy’s book that happened to Laney? I even read the prequel novella before starting Fade and still no dice. I jumped in and sure enough it unfolds in the pages of this book.
Laney has suffered trauma and Jackson is still relationship adverse. When he finally puts the final nail in the non-relationship coffin Laney tries so hard to erase him from her mind. Jackson doesn’t realize that all the heartache he is feeling is really love. When the source of Jackson and Laney’s trauma is back out in the world they are forced into hiding. They head to her family’s farm to lay low and hopefully mend their relationship. Just when they think its safe to head home, they realize the threat is knocking right on Laney’s door and Jackson must once again save her.
There is a lot of story to digest. It has moments where it hops back in time so the story can unfold. I found myself frustrated with both Jackson and Laney at times. How he couldn’t get in his thick head that he was capable of love and relationship worthy and Laney for how she dodged her feelings at every turn when it was a perfect time to talk. They went through a lot and it’s not all drama there is love deep down. There is family and friends and happy times. I suggest you read Glimmer first to get a glimpse of these two then the origin story of Jackson and Laney before you jump into Fade.
“My spitfire was back. She’d found her fire and it was fucking Beautiful.”
I just finished reading Jackson and Laney’s story and I simply couldn’t get enough of these characters… If you love sweet and sassy romance with a dose of suspense, and lovely people who kiss and cuss, this book is perfect for you! I was lucky enough to beta read Fade a few months ago. I loved it from page one to the very end. Now that the book is about to release and I received an ARC, I couldn’t put it down. Every change Ashley made was PERFECTION.
I enjoyed this story and can’t wait for everyone to read it. Laney’s brothers made me laugh through the whole book. I fell in love with Jackson over and over again.
One of the things I love about Ashley Munoz’s writing is that every book she writes is unique, she delivers romance in every way!! I can’t wait to read whatever she brings us next.
The novella, At First Fight, is the introduction to Jackson and Laney’s love journey and it is BRILLIANT. You can find it here:

If you read At First Fight, then you already know Laney and Jackson and the events that occurred. Fade is the aftermath and the struggle to move on, especially when the past comes back. This book was amazing!! I absolutely loved it and I’m excited for what’s next!
Laney and Jackson’s story is heartbreakingly sad. This is one hell of a story. I had to stop myself from crying though most of Fade. Girl loves boy, and boy is to stupid to know he loves girl.
I could not put this book down. I loved everything about it. Laney and Jackson are absolutely perfect. The evolution of the characters was fantastic.
I always worry about reading series were the characters change, I’m always scared I won’t like the next book. But I loved Fade so much! I actually had to buy the paperback as soon as I finished.
Laney and Jackson’s relationship start of the book, he leaves her a note that says we need space, I’m going on a trip. She spends the next few months avoid anything and everything that has to do with Jackson Tate. Jackson helped her with her PTSD and went to therapy with her. When they break up she loses that support.
Jackson spends the few months after they break up trying to stop thinking about the fiery redhead he should have never let go.
When the threat reappears the detective helping them sends them to Laney’s parent’s house until the threat is handled. Jackson is forced to live and watch Laney knowing that he loves her and he’s too afraid to do anything about it. Laney is forced to live with Jackson’s knowing she’s in love with him and he doesn’t love her back.
I could feel Laney’s heartache through the pages of this book. I wanted to reach in and hold her and tell her everything is going to be ok. I wanted to slap Jackson’s upside the head and let him know how incredibly stupid he is. When one of them would push the other would pull.
After Laney suffers through another tragic incident she refuses to talk to Jackson, wanting to learn how to stand on her own two feet. When reality hit Laney in the face, the only thing she could do was understand she needed to help herself.
When Jackson and Laney finally get their ending my heart was so happy. This was a clean, sweet romance. Ashley did not disappoint with this book!
The emotion jam packed into the pages of this book is out of control. The suspense of what is happening keep yous on the edge of your seat the entire way through.
The fear, trauma, and heartbreak are written that you feel like you are going through them with the characters. There’s a depth to both Jax and Laney that you pull for each of them and makes you want to reach into your kindle and hug them. I actually read this as my first intro into the couple but I will def be 1-clicking the other stories they appeared in first. Loved it
At first I hated Jackson! That first chapter part! But as the book went on and more was explained he grew on me. I loved Laneys family dynamic. They were fun to read. The drama of the book was sad at times but keep you wanting to know what would happen next
I had some difficulties relating to the characters at first and to figure the story from the first few chapters. But it picked up and the plot was good. Laney’s PTSD is described well and also Jackson’s lack of commitment, though at times i didnt get it there were a few things that bothered me.
I didnt like the pranks that Laney’s brothers did. I understand the author’s wish to picture a wonderful siblings friendship but it was too much.
There were a few chapters towards the end of the book that were wonderful, with Alicia and her obsession. The ending was predictable for me, i wished it was a bit different.
All in all, if you are looking for a light nice book, this one is for you.
Laney is drowning. Victim of a brutal attack, she survived, but the psychological sequels of that night keep her from moving on. Her mind is fragile, and even with therapy, remedies, and even a brief hospitalization, she has a long way to go before she heals.
Jackson feels responsible for what happened to Laney and tries to help her in the best way possible. The two are in a relationship without labels, since Jackson is contrary to the idea of commitment, but as Laney questions her own feelings because she loves this man, he breaks up with her because he can not give what she needs.
With the separation, the two will have to learn to walk on their own, but a threat from the past appears to shake Laney’s fragile sanity. Forced to be together, the two take refuge in her hometown and in a setting so different from what they are used to, with their own rules, values and culture, they will evaluate the path their lives have taken and what they expect from the future.
Transiting through drama, romance and even a suspense, the book has a calmer, more drawn narrative, focusing on the character’s psychological. Both Laney and Jackson are well built, with depth, questioning, traumas, and support each other to face day to day.
The secondary characters combined with the story, brought a lightness and a comic relief. The threat despite being present at the beginning, is only more prominent in the final part of the book and the unfolding of this plot is short, a little run. The main couple is the main highlight, the focus is all on the development of the relationship of the two.
A good book, human, dense but that knows how to work the novel in the right dose to avoid clichés. Recommended.

This was my first book by Ashley and I absolutely loved it!! It keep me totally intrigued and invested and totally wrapped up in the lives of Jax and Lainey!! I couldn’t wait to find out exactly what had happened and what was going to happen. I loved the dynamic of Lainey and her brothers and I really would love to hear their stories!! I will go back and read Ramsey’s book!!! Because not only did they make excellent secondary characters in this book I also was so curious about their story. This book will have you laughing, crying and so tense you will be on the edge of your seat. It will also have you ready to want to throw your kindle a time or two to try and slap some people upside the head. I am so glad I gave this book a chance and you will be too!!! I highly highly recommend this book. – By Tina
Great book to read.
This book show you how your action, words and deeds can effect others as well as those you love.
°**° Don’t read this review – just buy the book! °**°
After all, I’m just going to wax lyrical about this being one book I couldn’t wait for! After reading about Laney, the crazy-ar$ed friend of Ramsey, and Jackson, Jimmy’s best friend, in Glimmer, I couldn’t wait to be reading their story in Fade. I thought it was going to be more of the same antics between them, but it wasn’t, it was completely different and better than any story I could’ve dreamed up in my head.
I asked myself, why Fade for a title, and in writing this review I realised that, this story is the opposite of Glimmer. Since Glimmer ended, and I’d read their novella, Love At First Fight, there has been a huge incident, and Laney has lost her spark. She’s no longer the fiery stick of dynamite on high heels that I known before, in short, her essence has faded.
I absolutely had to read this in one sitting. My emotions were high and they had been through so much. Simply put, Ashely Munoz put Laney and Jackson through the wringer, and me along with them as well. Nothing was easy about their story, and the saddest part of all is that Laney is a shadow of herself while Jackson is drowning in his darkness.
The plot is beautifully balanced out with the crazy antics of Laney’s brothers, and Ms Munoz captures the family dynamics of Laney’s return to the family farm in the company of Jackson perfectly. Simply put, I loved Laney, and wanted to junk punch Jackson on more than one occasion, but as characters, they were beautiful people who had been dealt a crap hand, and they had to work hard for themselves and each other.
What a ride! And if there’s only one thing I want you to take away from my review, it’s to say in the most verbose way, how much I loved it, and highly recommend that you read it. There’s no need to read Glimmer first, but I’d say you’ll want to after getting through Fade. 5 Stars, and congratulations on another beautiful book.
What a beautiful story. I didn’t read the first book so I am sure there are details I am missing. But after reading this story I can’t wait to start book one, Glimmer. This book is the story of Laney and Jackson. The story starts with them being over. But that’s far from what the future has in store for them. The push and pull between these characters consumed me. This book also had me laughing with tears in her eyes. Laney’s brothers were my favorite. Another thing I loved about this story was how the author changed my mind from the beginning to the end. At first I didn’t like Jackson but as the story went on I understand him and now my heart goes out to him. Laney was a great female character. Her sass and strength was great! I loved this story and I can’t wait for more.
Another great read from Ashley, I wouldn’t expect anything else.
A 2nd Chance romance, but also some angst and wanting by both.
Jackson thinks he is doing the right thing by Laney due to his own views on Love and relationships. Laney is broken at the hurt this man has caused her so escapes to her family home in Indiana far removed from where she works and lives in Chicago.
Ashley introduces us to this amazing family of protective brothers and parents.
Laney has issues with her Dad whom she thinks is not proud of what she has achieved since leaving the family farm and not doing the “Little Woman” thing and marrying the boy she left behind and settling down for marriage family of her own and life.
The next thing she knows Jackson has followed her down and is sharing the room next door and she doesn’t understand what actually is going on between them.
During this time when Jackson is hoping to keep Laney safe from dangers left back in Chicago he soon starts to fight his own feelings towards Laney.
Lots of emotions as usual when it comes to reading an A.M. story
I love how A.M. deals with Laney’s PTSD and the interaction of Laney’s family within the story and the main characters of Laney & Jackson. There is just something about reading a book by A.M. you know its going to touch your heart and emotions.
Thank you.
Loved this story and they way Laney found the strength and confidence to cope and heal through her PTSD and find her self worth when loving Jackson.
Jackson had his own insecurities to acknowledge and overcome and I loved that they both eventually found happiness in themselves and each other
Awww… Laney and Jackson! Their story is just as fantastic as I thought it would be! I am not even going to lie…. there was a time or 2 when I wanted to back hand Jackson! It was really frustrating to me when he would try to be there for her, kiss her, touch her…. basically not let her move on despite the fact that he ultimately wanted her to move on. And all because he was jealous! Jealous of the waiter…. then jealous of a guy that she knew before him…. I honestly was thinking to myself “How self centered can this guy get???” The only reason why I did not write him off a lot sooner was because I knew how good his heart was from the part he played in helping Jimmy and Ramsey get together (in Glimmer…. if you haven’t read it…. DO IT!!!) I had never read anything by Ashley Munoz until this week and then I totally went on a binge! I love these books. I think that her writing style is just phenomenal. This book was not as long as Glimmer (but still quite a few pages) but it didn’t feel like the story was dragging on at any point. Some “wordy” authors spend a lot of time telling you things that do not matter much, but I can honestly say that I did not, in the 2 books and 1 novella that I read by her, did I ever feel like the story was dragging. Everything written felt important! So much love for this book! So much love for all of these characters that have burrowed themselves into my heart! I can not wait to read what Ashley comes up with next!
