The light at the end of the tunnel is not an illusion. The tunnel is.I didn’t become a billionaire sitting on the couch.Sure, I come from money, but I turned that money into millions and billions more.Somehow though, I’ve landed myself in hot water and someone wants my money, or me dead. Probably both. I hired a bodyguard from an agency that assured me they only work with the best. Their best is … they only work with the best.
Their best is a pretty, dark haired girl with an amazing body?
I’m screwed.
Royally.
Literally.
Screwed.

This was a such a great action packed romance. Derek’s life is in danger. He hires Sam to be his bodyguard by reference from someone he trusts. At first he is shocked that Sam is a woman. But soon he discovers that she is very qualified for the position. The push and pull between these characters was very entertaining. Soon they are working together to figure out who is coming after Derek, while fighting developing feelings. Feelings that are too strong to ignore eventually. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. And then the ending came and I have to find out what happens! This narrator did a great job pulling in the listener and keeping us enthralled with his voice. A must read/listen for romantic suspense fans. Warning, you will have to head to book two right away.
This is the first book in the Billionaire in Disguise Trilogy, a Romantic Suspense. I like Lexy Timms’s writing. Derek and Sam’s story is suspenseful, and action packed, filled with twists and turns. Derek is a sexy billionaire. Sam, a bodyguard, is badass, strong and smart. They share a sizzling chemistry. The storyline is intriguing, and the world building is captivating. The cast of supporting characters is impressive, and they are intriguing and interesting. The story ends in a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to listen to Illusion, the second book in the series. Tanner De Bruyne is a new narrator to me. He has a great voice, pleasant to listen to. The character were easy to distinguish.
Someone is threatening Derek’s life, and when things go beyond what his current security seem to be able to handle, he decides to hire a personal bodyguard. The former military badass isn’t what he expected, though, when he meets HER. I really liked this twist, with the woman being the badass, highly skilled person who protects the billionaire. Sam is brilliant, and can read people uncannily well, and she has never lost a client. From Derek’s perspective, there’s instant chemistry, but for her, she just thinks he’s a typical arrogant rich boy. Even though Derek hires her, he resists letter her protect him the way she insists is necessary, which ends up putting him into a couple precarious situations. As they get closer, Sam begins to realize she’s drawn to him, and eventually she succumbs to the desires they both feel. Of course, she immediately regrets it, and insists they have to stay professional, so things try to go back to that level, but there is always that undertone of attraction. Still trying to figure out who’s trying to kill Derek, everything comes to a crescendo at the end, and we are left with quite a significant cliffhanger as a gun goes off. This was a good, steamy romantic suspense book, and even though it’s not relatively long, it’s enough to make me want to know what happened and where things will go from here.
Derek is a successful billionaire. He buys companies, merges them, and some employees lose their jobs. He has been receiving notes and letters. When the notes are becoming more threatening, he was advised to hire a personal bodyguard. Sam was hired, best in the field. Derek was surprised that Sam was really Samantha. He was her client, she can’t get involved, but OMG , she felt the electricity between them. She knew she had to be careful or she would lose focus on her job to protect Derek.
Lexy Timms weaves a story of intrigue , mystery, suspense, twists, that had me guessing throughout the story. and a shocking cliffhanger.
Tanner De brune narration was superb. Every emotion, every voice , every character was perfection! he flawlessly transitioned from one character to another. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review
Façade: Steamy Billionaire Romance
Billionaire in Disguise Series, Book 1
By: Lexy Timms
Narrated by: Tanner De Bruyne
Get ready for an exciting story! This first installment of the Billionaire in Disguise story is not your typical rich boy romance! Derek is a self made man, and is finding the bigger his successes, the more protection he needs. When Sam Williams is recommended to be his bodyguard, he decides to hire Sam, only to realize she is a woman. How can this possibly work? Can she honestly keep him safe? Derek’s character is definitely not one I would look at twice, even though his status. Too arrogant for me, but I am still hopeful his true heart is revealed in the next story. Sam is fantastic. I love strong female leads, and while at times she is almost starstruck, she is competent and is on the case. But will it be enough? Yes, it’s a cliffhanger! But that just makes it all the better when you start book 2(which I hope is released soon!)This is a fun, romantic suspense.
Tanner DeBruyne brings this story to life. I am a fan, his voice is warm and smooth. He has just enough arrogance in his voice for Derek and has a great female voice for Sam! I love that he can do both with ease and make the characters sound realistic. I can’t wait to see where this goes next.

First of all, let me say this. I’ve read some of these reviews and if you don’t like cliffhangers, then certainly, don’t buy a book that has them. However, a cliffhanger should have no bearing on the storyline, the relatability of the characters, or the author’s ability to pull a reader into their world. That being said, this was a completely different set of circumstances than I’m use to reading. We have an alpha hero who doesn’t always win, a heroine who strong physically as well as in character. There is drama, angst, and a emotion. This quick easy read is certainly all that but in my humble opinion, it’s worth checking out the second book.
