You murder a man, and all of a sudden people are scared of you.Slate Solis went from being a guy that people went to in times of need to an ex-con that people crossed the street to avoid being too close to.He knows he’s done wrong, but out of all of his sins, only one really bothers him—coveting thy neighbor’s wife.Harleigh Belle—the cute little lady that never gives him a second glance. After … him a second glance.
After seeing her for the first time while he was in prison, she’s stayed on his mind for three long years. Each time she comes in to visit with her friend on family day, he can’t help but stare.
Then the day comes that he’s set free, and he’s almost disappointed that he’ll never see her again.
Except fate has different plans.
He hasn’t been back in his house for more than three hours when he sees her.
Harleigh Belle in all her glory…oh, and her husband that is everything Slate isn’t.
He tells himself that her being fifty feet away from him, all day every day, is a complete coincidence. One that he shouldn’t take advantage of. The more time passes, the harder it gets to stay away. Until one day, and one very ill-timed thunderstorm, ruin everything.
Who knew that baby-making-weather was a real thing?

This book was just one more reason why I love Lani Lynn Vale! I’ve been waiting for Slate’s book ever since I met him 8 books ago. How can I not want to meet this hero? After his partner, who was also his fiancee, was murdered, he went after her killer and ended up with a murder rap. I think it should have have been viewed as justifiable homicide or maybe suicide by cop, but then again, I’m a sucker for a vigilante and I’m in love with Slate.
Slate gets out and ends up moving into the house he bought before he went in. He just wants to be alone. He loves his sister, but he needs his space. He’s come to respect his brothers in the MC, but they don’t understand his reticence. So what happens when his alone time is interrupted by his neighbor constantly taking over his yard?
Harleigh is a sassy, spunky, feisty bundle of awesomeness. I didn’t like her at first because she made wild assumptions about my sweetie, Slate, but my opinions changed just as quickly as hers did. When she was able to see everything that was amazing about Slate, she became my kind of girl. Not quite dealing with past trauma, her quirks keep putting her in Slate’s path and their love seemed almost inevitable.
If you are lonely, dim all the lights and put on a scary movie. Then you won’t feel so alone. – I can’t get enough of the chapter quotes
With tons of suspense and a huge revelation that will change these characters lives forever, Vale gave us a banger of a tale. There was one twist to the story that I’m still a bit shocked by. I’m wondering if the fullness of it was covered in another book. I’m going to have to go back and read the ones I’ve missed. If you love hot and spicy romance with suspense, you’re going to love this one!
Cute and crazy funny… Lani made me laugh alot with her sense of humour… Kilgore Police Patrol sounded cool! With tight pant? Well, Gibson made me smile more… His stubborness drove me crazy.. but I love seeing him bloom and be a better man because of Katy 🙂 funky with the bits of family drama…
5 Stars
After getting glimpses of Slate Solis in Rome and Izzy’s book, I couldn’t wait for his story. Then even more insight with Liner’s book. Lani Lynn Vale has done it again. She has given us a broken Alpha hero that feels unworthy of love and a feisty heroine that is strong enough to put him in his place and love him unconditionally. F-Bomb is nothing short of electrifying. Slate and Harleigh exude so much chemistry it’s surprising they don’t spontaneously combust lol. With her usual style of humor and suspense, LLV will keep you glued to the pages. I loved it!

I just want to start out by saying I LOVED Slate!! The buildup of his character has happened over several books, and he so totally lived up to what I wanted for him! He definitely had some hard knocks and some revelations that I wasn’t expecting in this book, but the connection between him and Harleigh was totally awesome had me smiling and laughing numerous times.
And Harleigh … holy hades was she freaking hilarious in this book. Yes, she had some stuff happen in her past that I wasn’t expecting either and was frankly surprised by how her family handled it. Was kind of expecting a much different way, but that wouldn’t have played out as good if it went my way of thinking, but definitely added a bonding element towards the end that was pretty good.
Overall, totally LOVED!! The characters were awesome and the storyline was paced well and engaging. I think that this may be my favorite couple so far within all of her series because separately they are great but together they are freaking hilarious. So, definitely two high thumbs up from me and happy reading!
I discovered Lani Lynn Vale about a year ago and I’ve been hooked since the first book I picked up. F-Bomb had all the romance, drama, and action readers have come to expect of a Lani Lynn Vale story. Who can resist a feisty heroine and an alpha hero who doesn’t feel worthy of the woman he’s falling for? I’ve been intrigued by Slate since he was first mentioned, and I’m glad we finally have his story. My heart broke for him, and for Harleigh Belle, and yet together they were stronger and were able to overcome their pasts.
Two thumbs up. Five stars.
If you don’t read F-Bomb, you’re missing out.
If you are a lover of Lani Lynn Vale’s books, you would have already guessed any book containing the daughter of Payton and Max was going to be crazy and fun filled. Slate is finally free, but when the woman who has been on his mind for 3 years is his neighbour things are about to get complicated and maybe a little wet. These two rub each other the wrong way but maybe that is because it is the right way they actually want to be rubbing. As these two continue to cross paths, misunderstandings are finally cleared and an unstoppable attraction is finally about to play out. As both of their pasts are crashing into their present, drama and chaos will reign down but nothing will stand in the way of this beast protecting his beauty. A witty romance filled with action, passion, baby making weather and two characters that will have you grinning madly.
This is the 9th and final book in this series I have absolutely loved and I’m very sad to see my much loved Bear Bottom Guardians go but I am sure I will see some of them again as Lani loves to develop her already established worlds with new characters and places but bringing back much loved familiar faces.
As usual LLV gives us a gripping character, suspenseful plot and her brilliant trademark humour that keeps you on the edge of your seat and unable to put the book down.
When i was introduced to Slate Slolis as Izzy’s brother, I was completely intrigued about him. He is a cop that is convicted of murdering the man that killed his partner who was also his Fiancée. There is no way your heart won’t go to him when you hear his story.
His intrigue has been peeked at the petite feisty woman since she has been visiting a fellow prison in-mate but now he’s out and it turns out she’s his neighbour she is going to pull at all his restraints. Harleigh is the daughter of Max Tremaine, one of our original Freebird Heros.
The chemistry between Harleigh and Slate is off the charts hot as soon as they meet. The banter and interactions is highly amusing and will make you laugh a lot.
Another brilliant addition to this brilliant series but i am looking forward to seeing what LLV is going to bring us next.
F-Bomb is the ninth and final book in the Bear Bottom Guardians MC series by Lani Lynn Vale, and this series has become one of my all-time favorites from her. Like the overwhelming majority of Lani’s other works, this book stems from another series, or two actually. While not technically a spin-off of either the Heroes of the Dixie Wardens or the Freebirds series, it does expand on them as it features a hero or a heroine who is the children of characters in those series. What sets Vale’s work apart from anyone else’s is that with each new book Lani releases, she builds upon those original worlds, further developing not just the characters introduced in the current book, but the older characters as well. For Vale’s readers, this results in a very distinct and unique reading experience that is essentially the literary equivalent of a long-running, daytime soap opera—but without the infidelity and divorces.
From the moment I learned of this hero, Slate Solis, I was intrigued. A cop, convicted of murder for avenging his partner—who also happened to be his fiancée. I couldn’t wait to see what Vale would do with this man’s story, and she didn’t disappoint. Her quirky sense of humor and an interesting suspenseful plot was intricately woven into a romance between a beast of a man and the pint-sized daughter of Max Tremaine, one of Vale’s original heroes from her Freebirds series. The heroine, Harleigh, was a lot like her mother, Payton, and I absolutely devoured the scenes with her parents. Vale capped off a fantastic series with a wonderful second-chance romance full of heat, heart and heaps of Vale’s humor. Engaging, amusing and wholly engrossing, Vale’s writing pulled me right in and kept me there as I devoured her words. Five smooches from me for F-Bomb by Lani Lynn Vale!

Good ending to a rollercoaster series!
Harleigh & Slate were great together.
Harleigh (that little stick of dynamite) was fun, sweet & quirky. I am over-the-moon happy that we got so many scenes between her, her parents & her brother. Those were some of my most favorite ones! #OGBoomtownRules
Slate (that huge, fairly hairy bear) was gruff, alpha & sexy. I loved how protective he was of Harleigh, how he helped out his abuela at her bakery & how he took Harleigh to Disney World with him. Every curve of his lips & frustrated sigh from his mouth was highly enjoyable!
Really wish there was more clarification on Dre & Craig’s situation though. It felt off & unfinished. I need me some detailed answers!
Very much looking forward to this author’s next series about the KPD Motorcycle Patrol. It’s time for Katy Roberts to get her man! 🙂
SOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Slate is one of my favorites now. He is in my top 5 of favorite Lani men. Harleigh I loved her. She was hilarious and did not let her little size hold her back. I laughed so hard with these two I was crying. It was so good to have Slate’s story but I really didn’t want it to end, it was so good. And I really hope there maybe more with the Bear Bottom Guardians MC. This series was great and definitely in my top 3 of books series of hers. Even though every single book she writes is good.
Go read this book and ALL the others you won’t be disappointed
I’ve been wondering about Slate ever since I read Rome and Izzy’s book just because of who he is and what he is to Izzy. And I am so happy Slate has his happy ending!
Harleigh Belle and Slate Solis, their relationship was one that started out of a misunderstanding. Then when things start coming to light, there’s no holding back. I love that another of the Free kids is finding their happy ending. And its always good to see the original members of Free. The little glimpses of Slate that you got in the previous book in the Bear Bottom Guardians MC series has kept me demanding more of him. And now that I get his book I just couldn’t help but love it. Harleigh Belle and Slate are the perfect couple. She reminded me of her mother and the way that Slate was reminded me of her father. And in the end they came together and the perfect couple was created, that balanced each other out.
Its just sad to be at the end of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC series, but I know that we will see these characters again in the future.
Slade is sent to prison for years for defending his fiancée who was killed in front of him. When gets out and sees Harleigh Belle is his neighbor, his hot and sexy neighbor he knows he is in trouble. When he finds out more about her past and the real reason she sleeps where she does. The story is funny, sad and emotional, I loved every word. Highly recommend this story.
This was a great story. You can never go wrong with a book by Lani Lynn Vale…
This was a quick and steamy read. A perfect break from all the PNR I have been reading lately.
Slate and Harleigh were a very cute couple. They had issues with their past they had to work through, like usual, but it worked well with the overall story. The pace of this book was perfect, for me anyways. Their relationship gradually grew, felt natural, and was filled with emotion.
Overall, another great addition for the series. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Another great story and a must read
One of my biggest problems with the most recent books by this author is the overlapping of series and the newest generation of characters (aka the kids) from the original series. For example…I’ve had the worst luck when it comes to the kids from Freebirds series. For the vast majority of them, I just don’t like the characters. Harleigh was another one that just rubbed me the wrong way. She had an entitledness to her that just irritated me. Using someone’s property and arguing with them about how it doesn’t belong to them when they ask you to leave shouldn’t be ok or funny. But Harleigh just acted like everything belonged to her because she wanted it and had been using it. Didn’t it seem at all odd to her that there was an existing hammock on the property next door? But ok, assuming that the previous owner of your home left it, shouldn’t you find out if it’s on your own property or not before using it? And if it IS on your neighbor’s property, and they kindly ask you to vacate their property, shouldn’t you just do that as opposed to arguing with them and telling them they don’t know what they’re talking about?!
It took a while for her to grow on me. And I wasn’t exactly feeling the attraction between them. Ok, yes. Both Harleigh and Slate told me they were attracted to the other person but…the chemistry wasn’t there for me initially.
I think, while reading the books about all of the kids from the previous books, I’m constantly being surprised by how different their stories are, and how much I’m enjoying them. I love catching up with characters from some of my favorite books, and I love seeing where their kids ended up. Who they became, what they have done with their lives. And of course finding out about their HEA!!!! This story was no exception, since I adored Payton and Max’s story, and Harleigh was so much a part of that!
Harleigh had an amazing life growing up, but even that can’t protect her from grown up troubles. Some of those troubles haunt her, keeping her from living her life to the fullest, but she is able to compensate for that. When some of those troubles lead to a glimpse of Slate, there is an immediate attraction, unlike anything either one of them have experienced before.
Unlike Harleigh, Slate’s life hasn’t been good. And it just keeps getting worse. But Harleigh is enough to turn it all around, even if he doesn’t know it. Fate keeps throwing her in his path, and he just isn’t strong enough to resist, even if he wanted to.
I loved the relationship between Harleigh and Slate. She is everything he needs, and he will help her move past her issues. It was just plain beautiful! I couldn’t stop myself from LOL’ing at their interaction. This is definitely one of those books that kept me entertained!
I love this series and you will too
Slate spent years in prison for murder; Harleigh works in the ER. He finds that she lives next door to him. Nothing could happen with that, right….. Lani Lynn Vale works her magic again. I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. The character development and the story is awesome. A must read!!
