This was fast paced, adventure story packed with action and twists. Mari was amazing as the lead female protagonist, strong and competent and so brave. Completely kick arse and I love that she was the one doing the rescuing. Set in the Columbian jungle, Mari is tasked with rescuing Chris in exchange for her freedom to live in the US and leave her old life behind. I didn’t realise that this was the second book in the series and so I am intrigued to read the first and any follow ups. I really enjoy McKinley as a writer and I felt that Regan Brown did a fantastic job of bringing her novel to life.
Eye of the Storm: A Gray Ghost Novel, Book 2 AUDIO by Amy McKinley was a story of romance. There is suspense in the story as well which makes it ten times better.
A soldier awakens deep in the untamed woods of the infamous Darien Gap. He has no recollection of who he is or why he is thereafter being injured until a gorgeous woman tells him his name. But can he put his faith in her? Mari Dias enlists Chris Shaw’s aid to flee a country dominated by the same family that pursues her in the jungle, where many sacrifice their lives but few survive. As Chris and Mari look for a way out of the forest, filters from his past begin to resurface in little doses. As they get closer, their adversaries become closer as well. Is he up to the task of battling the storm that threatens them all?
I loved every page of it. Each chapter was better than the next. I can’t wait to read the rest of the other books in this series.
Eye of the storm A Gray Ghost novel book 2 by Amy Mckinley is a wonderful read. You could read this book as a stand alone if you wanted but Broken Circle was a amazing read and recommend you read it. Eye of the storm will captivate you right from the beginning. Amy Mckinley has a amazing way of writing and keeping you invested and wanting more. I really enjoyed reading about all the characters Mari Dias and Chris. I look forward to read more books written by Amy Mckinley and thank you for another wonderful read.
Great engaging start, but then it lagged in the middle. Not too happy with the ending. Just ok.
Our hero awakes in the jungle with amnesia. Our heroine desperately needs his help, but is by no means helpless herself. Can they make an effective team to survive what is coming?
This is book two of the series, but it is written as a standalone, so no prior reading is required.
This is a romantic suspense story with a complex plot with lots of action. The story is very well written with complex characters that are well developed and bring the story to life. I was definitely drawn in at the beginning and it kept my attention throughout. Overall, another very addictive and enjoyable story and I look forward to the next book in the series.
Highly recommended.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout for review purposes.
Mari is struggling to survive her fight through the jungle. She is saved by a mystery woman name Hannah however Hannah wants a favor for that help. She has to keep a military man alive.
“A life for a life” Hannah says
Chris is the military man but when he awakens he has no memory of how he got there or why. Mari is afraid if he doesn’t have a reason to keep her with him that he leave her to fend for herself so she lies and says she’s his wife. Together they work their way through the jungle trying to piece together why everyone is after them. When they make it to a village Chris sees Hannah and all his memories return and he knows that Mari isn’t his wife. After finally getting her to answer some of his questions he knows that there’s no way they can out run the people after them and wants to take the fight to them. Will Chris reject Mari when they manage to get to safety? Why are the people hunting them? Who is Hannah?
This is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what’s going to happen next. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

The jungle seems to be the place to fall in love. For Mari and Darien it helps them get to know each other while escaping danger. Darien also has to deal with remembering his life but matter what they go through, you can’t deny their attraction or chemistry. I loved reading this.

The second book in the A Gray Ghost Novel series and this one picks up where the last one left off with them still wanting to bring Juan Carlos to justice. This is Mari Dias and Chris Shaw’s story of suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, lost memory, and romance I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book in this wonderful series and like the first you are drawn in and kept on the edge of your seat right until you turn that final page I love romantic suspense and Amy has fast become a one click reader for me
When Chris Shaw wakes up hanging from a tree by a parachute in the Colombian jungle he has no idea why he is there or even who he is but he knows that a beautiful woman is trying to help him. Mari Dias wants out of her family and she is on the run but she can;’t leave a injured man hanging Helping him m,ay be the best thing she ever did because no matter who he is he definitely has the skills to help her escape As they try to fight there way to safety romance will bloom between them
I have found a new fantastic author. I took a chance and found a new exciting adventure. I missed the first book but found I didn’t have to read the first to know whats going on. Each can be read as a stand alone. Mari is attempting to get out of Columbia and away from a cartel leader that wants her for himself. As she literally runs from a cartel member that is chasing her, she meets Hannah. Hannah saves her life and tell her that she owes her now. She wants Mari to help an acquaintance that is injured. Hannah tells Mari that Chris will not hurt her and that he will help her get out of the country. Problem, Chris has no memories as Mari finds out when left to nurse him back to health. Chris is intrigued with the woman he finds caring for him. Their journey begins. An awesome suspense, action packed and happy story.

This is the second book in the Gray Ghosts series and it was another really good action-packed read. I picked this up to read for half an hour before bed and the next thing I knew it was gone 2 am and I was finishing. This book could be read on its own but I personally think they are better read in order. I would recommend Chris and Mari’s book I really really enjoyed it.
Mari is on the run from the head of a drug cartel. Wanting to cross the border, she heads to the jungle to make her escape. But, the jungle holds dangers, both human and animal. Mari is being chased through the jungle by guerillas and the cartel when a strange woman saves her. But there is a price. Mari needs to find, rescue, and then nurse back to health a man who can help her escape Columbia. What Mari doesn’t count on is this man to be attractive and have amnesia. Who is this man? Why did that woman want him rescued? Can he lead her through the jungle?
When I read the blurb for Eye of the Storm, I knew that I wanted to read it. It had all the earmarks of a book that I would enjoy — romance, mystery, intrigue, and action. And I did enjoy it. My only complaint about the book is that I did need the first book to understand the cartel plotline. Other than that, it was a great read.
Mari was one of the stronger female main characters that I have read in awhile. I loved that she went toe to toe with Hannah. It showed that she wasn’t a person to take crap from anyone. I also liked seeing a softer side of her. She let her guard down with Chris proved he could be trusted. The one thing I didn’t like was that the author took forever in getting her whole backstory out. Once explained, everything made sense.
I liked Chris, but I wish his backstory came sooner. I knew that he was at least some sort of special forces. I got that by the dog tags that Mari took off him that he was special forces. But it took until almost the end of the book to reveal what type of special forces he was. I did like his knowledge of the jungle. He was able to keep the cartel and the guerillas off their trail for several days.
The sexual tension that was between Chris and Mari was intense. Which I didn’t expect because they were trekking through a jungle with people after them. The author was able to build that tension up convincingly. When they did have sex, it was explosive. It was so hot that I thought my Kindle would explode.
I was confused when Mari told Chris that they were married. I had to reread her scenes with Hannah to make sure that they had never met. I didn’t mind doing that, but I did wish that there were at least some foreshadowing. Having it dumped on me like that played with my mind.
I did find the storyline with the cartel interesting. I do wish that the reason why they were after Mari earlier in the book. I did like what happened to the cartel during the book. Talk about giving it to them!!
There is a lot of violence in Eye of the Storm. I didn’t mind it and expected it. But it can get graphic in some parts of the book.
The end of Eye of the Storm was your typical romance HEA. There were references to previous characters and storylines from book one that threw me off. Other than that, it was good.
I would give Eye of the Storm an Adult rating. There is sex. There is language. There is violence. I would recommend that no one under the age of 21 read this book.
I would reread Eye of the Storm. I would recommend it to family and friends.

Eye Of The Storm, A Gray Ghost Novel Book 2, by Amy McKinley
5-stars
Mari is attempting to flee Colombia through the jungle when she is saved by Hannah. A life for a life and she is now responsible for tending to Chris. Chris has been injured and has no memory. Can the two survive the jungle and escape Colombia?
Another amazing action packed romance from this author. I could not put this book down. I loved Mari’s spitfire character. I also loved Chris’ character and the romance between him and Mari. This book has a great storyline and great world building. It can be read as a standalone as well. I highly recommend this novel.
Eye of the Storm, by Amy McKinley, is the second book of the Gray Ghost series. This novel was a pager turner; the author has found the right mix of ingredients to deliver in this novel and do it well. Delving into organized crime and how that impacts actions of the characters within the story were laid out and seamlessly fell into the story. Chris and Mari were elementally aligned here, how they navigate around each other, around others, who they can or cannot trust, along with determining what they do and do not value. This story involved but emotional and physical journeys of survival. Both lead characters were strong. The Gray Ghost series is an unforgettable read!!
Eye of the Storm by: Amy McKinley is book 2 in the Gray Ghost series. This book had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning and I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed the first book, but this was even better. My favorite books are the ones where you can feel yourself living with the characters, and being friends. This is the kind of book that gives you a serious book hangover. This is a newer author for me, and I really have enjoyed her books. I will definitely continue to read anything she writes. Keep up the great writing! I give this book a solid 5 stars.
Eye of the Storm ( A Gray Ghost Novel Book 2) by Amy McKinley. This is the 2nd book of this series and its so good. They grab you by the seat of your pants and all you can do is hang on! This is the story of Mari Dias & Chris Shaw. Mari finds Chris in the middle of the Jungle upside down. He doesn’t remember why or how he got there. Mari takes care of him but she needs all her wits to survive this crazy jungle. Chris doesn’t even remember who he is until Mari tells him and slowly he begins to piece things together, little by little. Can he trust Mari, she wants him to help her out of the Country and as they become closer Chris wonders if he can trust Mari! This is the 2nd book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I do think it helps to read the First one because it helps everything come together. I loved this book with all the action and suspense!
Eye of the Storm is book two in the Gray Ghost Novels written by Amy McKinley. Book two is a spin off of Broken Circle (book one), while the two books are related you wouldn’t have to read book one to understand book two. I would suggest book one first though just so you get all the back story and it makes book two so much better. Chris is an alpha male who trusts his instincts and intuition. Mari is just trying to survive and leave Columbia before the cartel catches her and forces her to Juan Carlos, or worse Mateo. This story is full of action, lies, sexual tension and finally the truth. Eye of the Storm kept me wanting more the entire story between the fighting, and the promise of more to come I didn’t want it to end.
Eye Of The Storm by Amy McKinley is the 2nd book in the Gray Ghost Series. Although there is some overlap with the 1st book Broken Circle this book can be read as a standalone. I do recommend reading the first book, not because it will help in your understanding of this second book, because it is a fantastic book. I thoroughly enjoyed Broken Circle and I enjoyed Eye Of The Storm even more.
Eye Of The Storm is a thriller that is full of suspense with some romance added in. This book will have you gripped from the very beginning and will keep you gripped right to the very end. There are so many twists and turns that you just can’t put this book down.
Mari is on the run from a drug cartel. She’s making her way through the jungle to escape from Columbia. When we first meet Chris he has been in an accident and doesn’t know who he is. Mari tells him that she is his wife so that he will protect her and help her to escape. Their journey through the jungle is highly dangerous as they try to avoid being captured or killed. During this journey Mari and Chris grow closer and their romance blossoms, although Chris believes Mari to be his wife.
Will Mari reveal the secret she is hiding from Chris? Will they escape from the jungle unharmed? Is there a happily ever after for Mari and Chris? I urge anyone to read this book and find the answers to these questions. I really hope that Amy McKinley continues the Gray Ghost series as I’ve loved what I’ve read so far.
This is the second book from the Gray Ghost series. It can be read as a stand alone but there are prior characters in this story as well. I absolutely love suspense in my romance but this talented author continues to blow my mind. She exceeded my expectations yet again with this story. I devoured this book in only a day.
Mari Dias is running for her life in the jungle. She is saved by a unknown woman but now she is told she has to save a life as well. Mari is lead into the jungle to find this person and she finds a beautiful man hanging from a tree. She immediately starts to take care of him. Mari and Chris feel a strong chemistry between them that they can’t stop. They have to lean on one another in order to make it out alive. Will Mari and Chris be able to find sanctuary or will they get caught into danger they can’t get out of?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, mystery, and suspense. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Mari is a beautiful woman that has a good head on her shoulders. She had a very hard past that makes her put walls up. Chris is a very handsome man with a heart of gold. He will do anything to make sure him and Mari survive. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will have you at the edge of your seat until the very end. I loved the end of this incredible book. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.
Eye of the Storm is the second book on the Gray Ghost series by Amy McKinley. The action started in the first sentence and didn’t let up until the very end, I enjoyed every minute of it.
Chris is amazing and I’m not just saying that because he shares a name with my husband. Even injured he did what he needed to do to take care of Mari and the situation they found themselves in.
Mari is the epitome of strength and bravery. She seriously had a set and I loved her for it.
When I started this series I wasn’t sure how much I would like it. You read one military special ops books you’ve read them all right? Not in this series. Can’t quite put my finger on what make it different in my mind. I just know I will be following this series until the end.
