Eye of the Storm is the second book in Amy McKinley’s Gray Ghost series! I dived straight into it after finishing the first book as I had fallen in love with Amy’s storytelling ways! Even though the stories can be read as standalone, do yourself a favour and read the first book as well as you will enjoy Eye of the Storm even more once you have done it.
Amy continues with her smooth storytelling and emotional rollercoaster, there are twists and turns that you do not see coming and just imagine, it is all happening in the wilderness of Colombian jungle! The writer is so meticulous with how she describes the jungle, how her characters come across and boy, the secrets … they are like a cherry on top of the cream! I loved how Amy gave us two strong and independent (and stubborn) characters (Mari and Chris) that make the story unforgettable! How can you give the story a cold shoulder when there is action, emotion and …. Secrets … but I already said that! So, pick up a copy and run away to the jungle with Marie and Chris and maybe, just maybe, you will return in one piece!
Eye of the Storm by Amy McKinely
Four Stars
What do you do when you find yourself hanging upside down with no memory? I have to say that the author did really well writing this story. The action alone was intriguing. But the author also included mystery, romance, deceit and danger. Chris and Mari are in the jungle facing all types of issues one after he other. You definitely don’t guess where this story is headed. I like stories that take me a moment to figure out. How Mari handled the snake bite and the care Chris gave her was just one moment through the book that the author showed how strong and resilient people can be. Chris is willing to do anything to save Mari. I liked how strong these characters had to be throughout this story even when it was getting unbearable to even take another step. That the thought of food made you ill. How trusting they had to be to rely on each other.
Eye of The Storm by Amy McKinley a four-star read that will create a storm. This is the second book In the Gray Ghost series and it could be read as stand-alone, I have read it as part of the series and enjoyed it as such. This series just gets better and better, the twists and turns are becoming so fast paced that it could be too much, but the author has a great way of reigning it in just enough to make you need to read the next page without finding it too much. The jungle descriptions are very well done and make you feel like you are struggling to survive them, like you are running from the cartel along side Chris, not knowing who to trust and if you will survive. What a great read, I cant wait for book three.
The Eye of the Strom by Amy McKinley is the second book in the Gary Ghost Novel series, and let me tell you, this book was amazing! Reading the Blurb, I knew this book would be romance, and thrilling all in one and that drew me in before I even started reading. Then once I read, I was able to get lost a little more into the world of Chris and Mari. Chris and Mari both stumble on each other in the Jungle. Mari, lost but strong needs help and Chris lost and having no memory yet knows his way around to keep them safe. Being that they both NEED to trust each other, they embark in an adventure. Mari and Chris grow closer despite the enemies on their trail, I found myself nervous. When they grew closer, my heart was happy. I love books that can grab my emotions and this one sure did! I give this books 5 stars and know many will enjoy it like I did!
Eye of the Storm is the second book in Amy McKinley’s Gray Ghost series. This action-packed series centres around a team with a military background and affiliations who take on dangerous assignments.
Like in the first book, Broken Circle, we are brought into the story by an outsider who needs the help of the Gray Ghost team. Mari is on the run from her dangerous past. After initially being rescued by one member of the team, her chances of survival are tied up in nursing the severely wounded Chris back to help. In the middle of very dangerous territory, Mari has to trust a man who can’t even remember who he is.
I enjoy the mysteries that unravel as the story progresses, and the level of action (particularly with Mari being very much an action hero). The level of detail in the setting is also great – I could vividly picture it in my head. Along with plenty of detail relating to survival elements, it makes for a very believable and captivating story!
Eye of the Storm can be read as a standalone, but is more satisfying and familiar if read after Broken Circle. For me, it’s a four star book and I’d recommend it to fans of action, mystery and romance. A real page-turner!
I really enjoyed this novel it kept me on my toes that’s for sure. It’s full of drama, suspense, violence, keeps you intrigued and it has many twists and turns along the way that will keep your eye’s glued to the pages and you will struggle to set your kindle down til the very end. I was at times gripping my kindle so hard due to the intense moments i also found myself holding my breath it was just so capitivating! I can’t honestly say any bad words about this novel it holds your attention and keeps you gripping the edge of your seat! Highly recommend!!!
Eye of the Storm takes you deep into the Columbian jungles as Mari tries to make her way to freedom. While out on her own, she meets up with Chris. Will her be able to get her out? This was an interesting story. I would have liked a little more action, but it was a good read.

5 Stars
I have been so looking forward to this book. I absolutely loved the first one and knew this would be be just as good and I was right…
I loved how this story started out and I usually get upset when it takes a few pages to figure out what is going on but in this one it was all part of the build up that needed to happen to appreciate it all. I loved every word in this book, there was no filler added anywhere, every single page was a needed addition and I so appreciate that in my books.
I love all of the characters in this story, I do hope I get a little more about Hannah in either the next book or books to follow, theres alot of questions I have about her and I can’t wait to find all of those answers.
It was nice revisiting Liv just a bit and getting some updates about her and I’m truly hoping that this series will continue for many books to come. I sincerely love the writing style of this author and will be one clicking any and everything she has available from this point forward.
You absolutely could read this as a standalone but I don’t recommend it as the first in this series gives you the background you need about this team and not to mention its just awesome!!
Highly recommend!! Loved It!!
I adored the first book in The Gray Ghost series, Broken Circle, so I had high hopes for this next novel, Eye of the Storm. Amy McKinley did not disappoint. I was hooked from the very first chapter to the last word of the last page. I sincerely wish that I could give this a few bonus stars but since I can’t the max of five will have to do. I don’t believe that it is necessary to read the first book, but why not?
In Eye of the Storm we have the story of Mari Dias. Mari is one heck of a strong woman. She has had to learn how to be for a long time. Her life was anything but easy. Growing up in the way that she did and the environment has taught her a lot. But her time in the Columbian Jungle will not be as easy as she thought it would be. In fact this will be the catalyst of big changes for Mari.
Chris Shaw also finds himself in the Columbian Jungle under duress. First major problem is that he is hanging, literally in a tree, wrapped in his shredded parachute. Secondly, he has no idea who he is. Not even so much as his name. He does eventually notice in his moments of awareness that there is a beautiful woman, Mari that is trying to help him the best that she can. Will Chris be able to trust that she is safe? Especially since he can sense that something about her isn’t as it seems. Will these two find a romance and a future together during their time in the jungle? Or will this be the end of everything for the both of them?

Eye Of The Storm by Amy McKinley is the second book in the Gray Ghost series. These books can be read as stand-alone but they are all definitely worth reading.
Waking up with no memory in the middle of a jungle isn’t exactly an every day occurrence. And yet that is the situation Chris find himself in. Knowing only his name thanks to a stranger he has to question what happened and who he can trust.
Working together to try and escape Mari hopes that Chris will be the one who can help her get away from the one family who has haunted her.
But with enemies close behind them all the way, and memories returning in sporadic pieces, can Chris and Mari’s partnership hold up? Or will the past catch up to them?
I enjoyed the first book of this series so was looking forward to reading this book. Or certainly lived up to the expectations. I always enjoy a book where one character has no or limited memory. Throw in a bit of danger and frantic chasing and you know the book is bound to be good. To top it off the author created two brilliant characters who were well written, engaging and perfect for each other. This series is shaping up to be great. I can’t wait to see what is next.
I was excited to sit down and read this second book of the series. So thankful it didn’t disappoint. It could stand well on its own if this is a reader’s first introduction to this series. Beautifully developed plot and wonderfully rich characters. I loved reading this book and can’t wait to read more in this series.

5 out of 5 stars
The story Eye of the Storm (A Gray Ghost Novel Book 2) by Amy McKinley is a thrilling romance book. It is a story that grabbed my interest from the very beginning and I found myself lost in the pages. It is a book that includes action, danger, and romance. It had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the characters of Mari Dias and Chris Shaw. Mari is a woman who finds herself in need of help to survive in the jungle. While she is a strong woman the wilderness that she finds herself in will take every bit of her courage and strength. Finding Chris may be her salvation. Chris is a man who wakes up with no memory of why he is in the jungle or even who he is. He has skills that come to him like second nature. Now if only he could only regain his memories. He knows that Mari needs protection and he finds himself drawn to her. Will Chris be able to get both himself and Mari to safety? Chris and Mari are both in a situation where they need to be able to trust each other to survive. That they both have feelings for each other is undeniable. Will they be able to stay one step ahead of their enemies? What does the future hold for Chris and Mari? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me turning pages. I love that I felt like I was right there with the characters going through everything that they did. I felt breathless when they were in danger and it also warmed my heart as they drew closer together. This is the second story in a series and I loved reading it just as much as the first. It is well-written, and I would highly recommend reading it.
I adore any sort of survival fiction and with all the danger and secrets thrown in, how could I not love this book! Book 2 of the Gray Ghost series did better, I think, than the first book. You don’t need to read them in order but Amy McKinley’s first book of the series is fantastic as well!
Mari and Chris are stuck in the jungle. He has no memory and she is being hunted by the family that rules the country. They both will do just about anything to survive and each have secrets that drag them back towards certain death. The pair needs to trust each other in order to make it out alive but also how could they possibly trust one another? Chris’s memories come trickling back to him and threaten everything. Mari is on a mission and nothing will stop her! I love how strong her character is and I want to be her friend.
Come on! 5 starts of course!
Book 1 was amazing so
I was stoked to read Chris’s story
…
This authors writing skills are amazing. She knows how to pull you in. And who doesn’t love a good suspenseful read. Keeps you guessing. And Amy did just Tht . I was racing to get to the end to see where these two characters story was going end. If I didn’t have kids I probably wouldn’t have stopped from start to end.
High five to the author .
Well done woman .
great read!
