His weapon is the stiletto, his codename: The Needle. He is Henry Faber, a coldly professional killer and Germany’s most feared deep-cover agent in Britain. His task: to discover the Allies’ plans for D-Day, and get them to Germany at all costs. It’s a task he undertakes with customary relish and ruthlessness — until he encounters Storm Island, and a woman called Lucy…
I learned so much about the time leading up to D-Day. This was a thriller that left me breathless at times. It’s one of my all-time favorite books.
Great suspense story with political setting.
Very suspenseful!
Set in WWII England, this is a great action story built around a German spy’s efforts to learn the details of the Allies’ D-Day invasion plans. Ken Follett’s Nazi agent is resourceful, clever and formidable. Even though the reader knows the outcome, Follett builds suspense and keeps us guessing with every plot twist. Highly recommended.
A very good read
Loved it. Suspenseful and tough to put down.
Gripping!
I read this book when it came out so don’t remember much it
One of my favorite authors… a great read.
This book is one of the best books I ever read. I recommend it highly
It keeps one spell bound
Anything that Ken follett writes is worth reading.
A wonderful book by a great author, very enjoyable read, didn’t want it to end.
Follet’s first hit novel, i read this forty years ago when first published. Follett has written, and I have read, many novels in various genres over the years but I still consider this to be one of his best and my favorite. If you want an engaging spy-adventure novel that hooks you at the very beginning and keeps you turning pages until the very …
I like pretty much anything by Ken Follet
This is a tremendous read. A real thriller, even though I knew throughout how it ended, having seen the movie many years earlier.
great story, well written
I read this book when it was first published (~1979) and still remember it fondly. I like historical settings and in another country.
I read the book years ago, but it has stayed my mind as a gem of a spy novel. The German Nazi spy connecting with an innocent English woman equals high tension.
I read this book many years ago and was introduced to Ken Follet. I dontinued to read all of his books and I love them all. I must reread this book because I have forgotten it.
