As a young girl, Issa, bonded with her pet falcon was the lookout for her father’s smuggling operation in Ireland. After everything blew up one night and her father and brothers were killed, her mother brought her to America to start over.Immigrating was hard, but eventually she grew up and pursued a career in environmental sciences and continued to follow her passion for falconry. But she … she doesn’t find the same special bond with another falcon. Until one fateful day when her world explodes again…
Eagle, a former military pilot, has retired to his small ranch outside of Denver, Colorado where he runs a rescue center for raptors in need. One falcon is acting irrationally. Eagle’s only recourse is to euthanize him, but the falcon rips free. Although injured so badly he shouldn’t be able to fly, the falcon disappears into the skies.
The next night the falcon returns with a beautiful but seriously injured young woman in tow… carrying a message of death and destruction for the both of them…

As a child Issa bonded with a falcon in Ireland, circumstances had her mother moving them to the US. It’s now years later, Issa has just cleaned out her mother’s apartment following her death. She lives out in the wilds because she needs the wide open spaces. Her cabin is small but functional and away from the boxed in feel she gets from the city. She’s a bit distraught but gets a bit of solace from the birds she cares for. A beautiful falcon, Roash, a Snowy Owl, Humbug and a tiny saw-whet owl, Gillian all have special needs and Issa is more than happy to meet them. She’s yet to find a job even as a biologist with a PhD in Environmental science the offers haven’t exactly been flooding in. After storing the boxes in her root cellar, she hears a disturbance outside. A gunshot has her tearing out the door only to be captured by strong arms and then encased in some sort of sack.
Eagle has a small ranch outside of Denver, he’s set up a sort of wild bird rescue, treating injured birds of prey. An injured falcon had shown up a few days earlier and now Eagle is afraid he’s going to have to put it down. However, the moment they’re outside the bird flies off. Something he shouldn’t be able to do with his injuries.
Eagle then realized all the birds were eerily quiet. As he investigates with his rifle and his dogs at his side, the falcon he calls Rikker flies up from the brush and then goes back down. What Eagle finds when he gets closer stuns him.
Eagle calls in some help, and when Issa wakes she doesn’t remember much. A vet, a doctor both say she should go to the hospital and he should call the sheriff but he knows something bigger is involved and won’t do that.
Both Stefan and Tabitha get involved in the most unusual way. I have to admit I was a bit puzzled when Stefan had to be pulled back by both Dr. Maddy and Celina. It’s the after affects of that bit of ‘flying’ that really had me laughing out loud as everything Stefan starts painting ends up with an owl in it.
Plenty of tension as Eagle helps Issa and tries to get her to remember what happened. Everything seems to lead back to her childhood some how, and Stefan encourages her to look further therein.
I couldn’t put this book down as the pieces start to form and come together. The relationship between Eagle and Issa simmers before it sizzles.
A fun and interesting tale with yet another unique ability and lots of intrigue and suspense.
Wow this book is right up there in my top 3 for this year. I was so invested in this story I read half on Christmas Day.
The story was so different from others that I’ve read. I too love birds, but am so envious of this character’s connection with them.
This broken girl and the former military pilot end up together after she is seriously hurt. She should be dead, she shouldn’t be healing this fast…what’s the mystery here? They’re on a mission to find out why she was tortured and is this all connected to her past?
Brilliant story, loved it and the characters including the wildlife.

Wonderful book
This is a great series. It is the 12th book, but it still feels fresh 🙂 Issa and Eagle are both such strong, independent characters. I like how caring Eagle is and how he supports Issa. The relationship builds slowly, but you can feel the bond between them. While this can be read as a stand-alone, there are a couple characters who show up from previous books which adds to story. I can’t wait for the next story!
What an awesome book! I loved every engrossing word. I loved the characters, the story and the birds! What an exciting and suspenseful read! If you like suspense with a bit of romance and a lot of “edge of your seat” moments, you will love this book!
Eye of the Falcon by Dale Mayer
Psychic Visions Series Book Twelve
Issa McGuire’s life has just been turned upside down. Again. Someone wants something from her and she has no idea what it is. Hasn’t she lost enough in her life? And on top of everything else, her birds need her and she can’t find them.
Eagle Saunders, retired special ops, is happy on his hundred and twenty acres—taking care of the birds that need him. Somehow after helping one bird…he now cares for hundreds of them. And now, he has a woman to care for too. That’s okay though, protecting is what he’s good at.
This story will take you to the past and present in Issa’s life as she tries to figure out who wants her and why. And with her affinity with birds—the story brings in some characters from previous books as they are called upon to help reunite Issa with her birds.

Love ty he series. Dale Mayer just writes unbelievable great stories.
This was sad but a really good story, happy ending
4.5 This is the very first book I have read in the Psychic Vision Series and I was not disappointed. The plot was excellent, there was intrigue, mystery fantastic alpha male 🙂 and a totally cool female. Yes there is a steamy detailed sex for you all and the plot did not revolve around it! It was a natural progression. I volunteered to leave a review, it was not asked of me.#eyeoffalcon
Fantastic book! I read this book in 2 days, it was so good I couldn’t put it down. I love Dale Mayer’s Psychic series and this book continues to tell a great story. I don’t want to give anything away but this book along with the other Psychic series shows how much we don’t know about what happens in the brain. I received an ARC copy for a honest review. I highly recommend this book and series.
Thrilling!
I loved absolutely everything about this book! It is so well written, and all the sub-plots gave me goosebumps!
I loved the psychic aspect of this story. It made it the remarkable story that it is and made the reader think and wonder about what could be possible. I feel it gave the story so much depth and showed how intelligent birds really are. The compassion for birds of prey was very heartwarming.
A lot of today’s stories jump right into hot and heavy sex scenes to jump start the action, but I am glad this one didn’t show sex as the main focus. There was definitely a connection between Eagle and Issa that went well beyond physical attraction and that was fun to discover as well.
I enjoyed Issa’s kick-ass attitude she was able to show when it was needed. She is fearless despite the danger that surrounds her and Eagle. She fit perfectly with the big, brave and intelligent warrior Eagle is.
The only thing that saddened me about this story is, I wish that Issa would have found her friend. Otherwise, I wouldn’t change one word of this incredible story. It was excellent!
Dale Mayer, continues her Psychic Visions series (Bk 12). She continues to weave her words with amazing ability, high stakes suspense and riveting paranormal drama. In a backdrop that few would be familiar with – a sanctuary of looking after wounded raptors and other birds that find themselves in need of care. A place already established by an ex- Spec Operator – Eagle. Hardworking. stoic and just wants to be left alone to care for those majestic birds of prey.
Issa, always struggled with life, some to traumatic events at a young age and some due to the oddness of her relationship with her deceased mother. She has suffered from the withholding of affection and the loss of her bonded companion, Hadrid and not ever fully realising what was wrong, other than her friend was gone. Her abilities have been dormant, yet she still was a fighter to better herself and find a place that was always calling to her.
Then evil strikes when you aren’t aware. That evil element from a past she is only starting to piece together will lead to danger, as she finds herself at the mercy of that evil, Tortured for reasons she can not fathom or comprehend. The very gifts that lay dormant are also what keeps her alive, to eventually find an escape. It will take something and someone extraordinary to the normal world to work it all out.
Adrift, helpless and tortured, Issa, with the help of feathered friends is found by Eagle. As she heals, her energy is being depleted by two new feathered companions in search of her. Her psychic abilities, along with the help and kindness from Eagle, as they slowly piece together exactly who she is and the powers she harnesses within.
The gifted psychic, Stefan along with some other favourites will also lend their strength and capabilities to find and restore balance.
What an emotional journey for both. this si one of those stories that is first healing and kindness. Caring and nurturing those who need our help above all else. A kindness that will eventually lead to a spark, growing affection,an attraction and to being home amongst the very creatures they both love and admire.
Dale Mayer, gives you Issa and Eagles journey. If you love dramatic, paranormal suspense/intrigue, story twists and turns… what are you all waiting for? She delivers this and more, in another page turning Psychic Visions book. This book is a slow build of bonded connections – not only with the animal world, in particular the raptors, but also with those that become special in our life.
Dale’s books, this could be read alone but to gain that sense of family and the special psychic connections within their world, it would be highly recommended you catch up on previous books inside this series to have a better perspective. Another beautiful story, I had so much pleasure in reading most highly recommend you read.
Wow, Best Book Ever!
Once I started reading Eye of the Falcon, I couldn’t stop until it was finished. This is the 12th book in Dale Mayer’s Psychic Visions series. I’ve read them all. Each is unique and excellent, and this one is the bomb! Read it. You will feel excitement, awe, sadness, and admiration for Issa, a young Irish woman brought to the United States by her mother at the age of 6 after the murders of her father, brothers, and beloved pet falcon Hadrid with whom she shared a strong psychic bond. Following her mother’s fatal heart attack, 26-year-old Issa is kidnapped from her secluded Colorado cabin, where she shelters wounded birds including snowy owl Humbug. She is brutally tortured and shot while escaping. With no idea of where she is or was, she collapses on the grounds of the raptor sanctuary run by former military pilot Eagle. One of his birds, Roash, has bonded with Issa, almost as strongly as the bond she had with Hadrid. Thus begins parallel stories as Eagle and Issa work to track down and catch the kidnappers by reconstructing Issa’s long-buried memories of her last days in Ireland, while Roash helps Humbug make the arduous journey to reunite with Issa, relying on very interesting and sometimes hilarious help from psychics Stefan and Tabitha, whom we know well from earlier books in the Psychic Visions series. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll worry, and you will rejoice. Then, if you haven’t read the first 11 books of the series, you will get them and love them. If you’ve already read them, you may join me in waiting impatiently for book 13 to release.
