Two lovers frozen in ice. One dangerous expedition.
Holly Parmenter doesn’t remember the helicopter crash that claimed the life of her fiancé and left her in a coma. The only details she does remember from that fateful day haunt her—two mysterious bodies sealed within the ice, dressed for dinner rather than a dangerous hike up the Canadian Rockies.
No one believes Holly’s story about the couple … about the couple encased deep in the icy crevasse. Instead, she’s wrongly accused of murdering her fiancé for his million-dollar estate. Desperate to uncover the truth about the bodies and to prove her innocence, Holly resolves to climb the treacherous mountain and return to the crash site. But to do that she’ll need the help of Oliver, a handsome rock-climbing specialist who has his own questions about Holly’s motives.
When a documentary about an unsolved kidnapping offers clues as to the identity of the frozen bodies, it’s no longer just Oliver and Holly heading to the dangerous mountaintop . . . there’s also a killer, who’ll stop at nothing to keep the case cold.
Will a harrowing trip to the icy crevasse bring Holly and Oliver the answers they seek? Or will disaster strike twice, claiming all Holly has left?
Extreme Limit is a thrilling action-adventure novel with a dash of romance set high in the Canadian Rockies. It’s a full-length, stand-alone Maximum Exposure novel, previously published as Out of Mind.

Extreme Limit – a review by Rosemary Kenny
What I loved best about this well-written novel by Kendall Talbot, is the way her female MC Holly Pargeter never gives up on herself, despite fearing she’s a deadly jinx to those she loves.
Extreme Limit is a very apt title, as Holly suffers a series of devastating injuries and losses, that would turn most of us into blubbering bed-ridden, medication and therapy-dependent wrecks.
Yet without portraying her heroine as a Lara Croft-like Wonder Woman on a quest, or a hot mess, the author cleverly keeps her MC’s feet firmly on the ground and shows realistically, her long fight back to health, love and happiness, that she’s glad to spread around new friends, by bringing a well-deserved outcome to those who have helped and stood by her – as well as an unpredictable, but just downfall, to those who have hindered her road to recovery and really deserve their comeuppance.
Finally love finds a way back into Holly’s heart, when she meets her soulmate in an unexpected place.
Read Extreme Limit, a wonderful, heart-warming story of second-chance love by Kendall Talbot, which is Book 1 in the Maximum Exposure series.
It’s a 5-star winner you’re sure to love!
What an unusual storyline! Couldn’t stop reading once I started! Action packed adventure on a snowy mountain top not once but twice!
I had a hard time putting it down. I enjoyed it very much.
I could not put this book down!! After I finished it, I ordered her next too books! I highly recommend this book and author.
Wow! Extreme Limit formerly titled Out of Mind by Kendall Talbot blew me away. This new author for me to read has impressed me with this book. Enough so that I recently purchased another book in the series.
Two seemingly unconnected stories that came together in an amazing and dangerous way. From the beginning, Holly/Amber’s POV was heartbreaking and awe inspiring. Her obsession seemed over the top but also a reason for her to live, I got that. Still how her story would connect with Regi’s was baffling to me until it did connect. We only saw her fiancé through her eyes so the twists and turns in this story kept me surprisingly shocked with each revelation while also turning the pages as quickly as I could.
The romance is a natural progression, but it is the adventure/ thriller plot that makes this such an amazing read. Well-written with several POVs that even had me empathizing with Regi which normally would be difficult after first meeting him in the story. Kudos to this author.
An ARC of the book was given to me which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
It was amazing
I love a novel that grips me from the very beginning.
I love a novel that captures my heart just by reading the first few lines.
I love a novel that swallows me whole emotionally.
And Extreme Limit did exactly that and so much more.
We meet Holly Parmenter.
Holly is young, beautiful and deliriously happy. Engaged to be married to her one love, Milton, life couldn’t get any better for Holly. The only thing she would love to do is change her teenage step-sons attitude towards her. He’s a fiery one and one Holly is sure she can break through his hard exterior.
Holly, Milton and Kane.
A vacation in Canada.
A holiday in the Canadian Mountains.
Snow covered, cold, but breathtaking.
A helicopter ride.
The scene, beautiful.
But in the blink of an eye, Holly’s world irrevocably changes.
In the blink of an eye, Holly is no longer Holly.
Holly is gone, never to return.
We meet Amber Hope.
A frail, broken, damaged women who is a recluse. A woman who hides from the world.
But one night changes that.
A woman Amber sees changes everything for Amber.
Amber makes it her mission to get the answers that Holly couldn’t find.
Amber makes it her life to save a woman who has been tormented for years.
But how can Amber make this possible?
How can she reveal herself after hiding for so long?
Can Amber get over her fear of being seen?
Can Amber find comfort in strangers to help guide her?
How are Holly and Amber connected?
Guys this novel is brilliant. I was completely absorbed in it from the start and I couldn’t put it down.
A highly emotional read with twists that I literally didn’t see coming. I had to actually go back and make sure I was reading it right, because my brain couldn’t process it. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. It was like my thought process what led one way and then all of a sudden it was shoved in a different direction. It was mind boggling and I loved it.
For me Extreme Limit was a heartbreaking and breathtaking read. So powerful that it moved me emotionally.
I am in awe of Holly and Amber. The strength and willingness to seek answers was inspiring.
But guys be on the lookout for two other characters that captured my heart for very different reasons.
Oliver….You are a savior.
Kelli…..I want you as my new best friend.
A huge 5 stars
I just don’t feel you get to know all the characters with the exception of Reginald.
And let’s not overuse of use at all (my love). And really another waitress who entranced a billionaire?
Extreme Limit had me hooked right from the first few pages and had me on the edge of my seat until the very end!
Kendall Talbot is a must read author if you enjoy action, adventure, mystery, thrills with a little romance sprinkled in!
Highly recommend!
Awesome adventure…
Wow! What a captivating story. Amazing characters, plenty of adventure, and a truly thrilling plot that makes this book impossible to put down – what more could you ask for? Romance? Yep, got that covered, too. I won’t be taking any helicopter rides up snow-covered mountains after reading this, but I have to say I did find this a completely engaging book that is sure to entertain any armchair adventurer.
I was provided with a copy of this book as a prize for answering a riddle correctly and for that, I thank the author. My review, however, is completely voluntary and represents my honest and unbiased opinion.
Extreme Limit is the 2nd in the Maximum Exposure series and is a fantastic start to this series.
The romantic suspense story has well-depicted characters, lots of action, and great descriptions of the beautiful Canadian Rockies. This story gripped my attention from start to finish. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
This is the 1st book in the maximum exposure series but can be read as a stand alone. The story is full of action and suspense and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
This was my first book from this author and I am hooked! It was a great combination of mystery, thriller and romance! I absolutely loved it and love the authors writing style. I will be reading more from her.
Holly and Oliver meet and his rock climbing gym. Holly has been through a tragedy that has left her scarred and hiding from the world. She was in a helicopter crash where everyone died but her. After the crash she saw something they no one believes, 2 lovers bodies frozen together. She starts rock climbing so that she can find them again bring their family closure. Through this Holly and Oliver’s relationship develops and they eventually fall in love. He offers to go with her on this climbing trip. Along the way there are twists and turns that make it harder for this to happen! The ending is great and unexpected!!
A must read!!
**I received a copy of Extreme Limit from Xpresso Book Tours and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are my own and not solicited in any way.**
Extreme Limit by Kendall Talbot is the first (Or second if you read this under it’s previous name) book in her Maximum Exposure series while the author is new to me the Canadian Rockies aren’t having visited them years ago. This book is a fly by the seat of your pants adventure. I will have to check out the the rest of the series there are snippets at the end of the book.
Holly Parameter (AKA Amber Hope) not only survives a helicopter crash but also the loss of her fiance’ and his son. But it’s what she sees that will not only haunt and give her a reason to find out the truth behind what she saw in the crevasse on Whiskey Mountain. Since no one believes she saw bodies, she sets out to learn how to ski, mountain climbing and rock climb to prove them wrong. When she meet Oliver owner of the rock gym there’s a spark as well as admiration of her determination. But when she tells him why and her secret past will he stay and help or run for the hills?
There are two different stories in the plot with both Holly/Amber and a young man Regi who’s being not only exploited by a criminal and but is also shocked to find out how he’s connected to Holly and her late fiance’. It’s confusing early on but works out in the end . All in all Extreme Limit is worthy of a four stars rating.
Suspenseful Romantic Action Adventure
This is an awesome tale that I did not want to put down. Our heroine is put through some extreme tests of spirit and endurance, but she is more than up to the task. With the appropriate helpers by her side, she slowly comes back, better than before. This story was just go, go, go with very little downtime. All of this comes to a very satisfying and exciting conclusion. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Too depressing, unrealistic.
