I’ve searched out other books by the author-well written and suspenseful
Extinct is the first of three novels. The remaining two, Distinct and Instinct, I haven’t read yet but plan to. This is a story about a 13 yo boy who is very intuitive. Suddenly, one Thanksgiving weekend, his world is turned inside out. A blinding blizzard hits on Thanksgiving Day, then people start to disappear up into the sky – including …
An unexpected treasure! I couldn’t put it down and I couldn’t wait to read the next book in the series. Although this book will stand alone.
This was an excellent read. There are 3 more books in the series and all of them were the kind that once you pick it up, you don’t want to put it down until it’s finished.
I am waiting to get the follow up book
I think this book had great potential. However the main protaganist, was not believeable, too young and making incredible ‘deductions’ regarding what was happening, including the cause and how to stop it. This, with so little actual data. The fact that he was a young teenager, and that all of the adults would accept him as the leader and decision …
Ike Hamill never disappoints this reader, and he didn’t with Extinct. An intriguing horror story with interesting characters and a hair raising plot. Is it the end of the world? Or just the end of the world as we know it? Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
If you like books that are about the end times or Aliens or could this have been Rapture, you will like this book.
Must read
It was a fun easy to read book
This book is Left Behind meets Doogie Hauser meets Day After Tomorrow meets The Ruins meets Poltergeist meets Independence Day meets (wait for it) The Walking Dead (you knew that was coming) meets Desperate Author Thrashing Around for a Fresh Idea meets Complete Failure.
I greatly enjoyed this novel
Completely terrible.
Riveting! Couldn’t put it down. Highly recommended.
Mr. Hamill has created a different apocalyptic fiction story – there are no nuclear disasters or pandemics.
Much of the book follows two characters and their separate “end of the world” experiences. The main protagonist is a teenage boy(Robby) who seems to have special insight to what is happening and makes connections not obvious to others (or …
Enjoyed the originality of the plot line of this book. I’ve read a number of books with an apocalyptic and dystopian plot line but this one is one of the most original ends to earth I’ve read yet. Characters are well developed and you begin to care about the fate of each one as they are introduced and play out their roles. The protagist is a …
Toss aside everything you’ve ever considered as a possibility for an apocalypse and put on your all-encompassing suspension of disbelief because I can assure you, you’ve never read such an original novel as this one! I thoroughly enjoyed this and could often be so engrossed as to require several attempts at interruption to get my attention away. …
I liked this book and have since got the next 2. I just couldn’t not know what happens to the survivors, especially Robby. A very intelligent child who is figuring all this out. He plans like an adult and then at times you see he is just a young adult who should be anywhere but in this reality. The Supernatural beings in this series are mind …
started out good interesting, then got random and lost my interest….
Keeps you wondering what will happen next.
