I would give this book more stars! It’s very suspenseful, and was hard to put down! I actually got a little nervous [well a little scared] when reading this book late at night! Well written characters. . .and just plain well written!
Good job!!
A vivid, imaginable plot of forbidable, elemental-based disaters. The scenarious display the possible inflictions nature could inflict due to human’s infliction upon the earth.
Very much enjoyed this book really looking forward the the second ! Though my husband said I have to wait till a weekend to start it as I read right through the night finishing the first one almost wore out my e reader battery !! Great characters.
I love a good apocalypse story. How to carry on when society crumbles? Good people come together to help each other survive. “Extinct” gives the apocalypse story an interesting spin — we don’t know what has happened to make people disappear. and the fact that we get a detailed backstory on the two main characters lets us know these two will …
For the most part it was entertaining. By the author’s own admission he edited a good chunk of the story concerning two characters meeting and turns out to be huge gap in time when reading. Noticable but I read on with it wanting to see where it was going. Grammatical errors are noticable and overall plot leaves many questions but main thrust of …
It skips in places, making me think I turned to many pages, but not enough to make me stop. Only thing that bothered me thruout is that for something that happened supposedly overnight ones, like Robbie, took it in stride awfully fast. Like-the world is dead, my family is dead, and I’m driving a truck. But I still liked it!
Loved how this book moved along. The main character in this first of the series book, is a young man (13) named Robby. Robby is very smart and knows it. Not in a big ego way, but in a “I know I have to be careful about how I stay stuff or adults will be turned off by my age”. That’s a whole other kinda smart. Add to that, he’s “in tune” with …
Loved it. The whole series was good.
Extinct by Ike Hamill has an awesome cover, so I had to take a walk into the woods, during a blizzard to find out WTH is going on.
Robby is an intellectual young boy, always analyzing, so when the freak snowstorm hits on Thanksgiving and people began to go missing, he began questioning…everything.
Well, I’m still no sure exactly what’s going on …
Quite an interesting book. The author has quite an imagination when it comes to plots and kept me in the dark right to the end trying to figure out what was happening.
While I hate to type on a tablet, and I really hate Amazon’s Autocorrct. I have to say this book and writer reminds me of Steven King. Similar to a cross between “The Stand” and “The Tommyknockers”. People are stranded during Thanksgiving and the world becomes a horror how. The book follows several people in the aftermath. It’s a good read.
This book kept me interested and entertained, and I am now reading more by this author.
Don’t read this in a dark lived room! Wow! I am half way the forth book! If I told you how and why I enjoy these books it would spoil the read for you! If you don’t a book with lots of things going on, you will not like these books. But if you enjoy a fast pace book with lots of twists. Please read these! Thank you Mr Hamill for a great read …
Extinct was first in a series of 4 books. After finishing Extinct, I bought the next 3 books and read them back to back. The characters were well developed and the plot was thought provoking. I would have loved a fifth book!
It had me hooked from page one!!!!
Love Steven King? You’ll love this! He did too!!
What an original page turner. I didn’t want it to end! I will thinking about this story for a long, long time.
Such an exciting vision of the end of the world. Really lived the idea of the Elementals.
Similar to a Stephen King novel
Very original and enjoyable. easy read. couldn’t put it down!
