The classic Evil Under the Sun, one of the most famous of Agatha Christie’s Poirot investigations, has the fastidious sleuth on the trail of the killer of a sun-bronzed beauty whose death brings some rather shocking secrets into the light. The beautiful bronzed body of Arlena Stuart lay face down on the beach. But strangely, there was no sun and Arlena was not sunbathing…she had been strangled.… sunbathing…she had been strangled.
Ever since Arlena’s arrival the air had been thick with sexual tension. Each of the guests had a motive to kill her, including Arlena’s new husband. But Hercule Poirot suspects that this apparent “crime of passion” conceals something much more evil.

Murder at a seaside resort with a cast of interesting characters including the always entertaining detective, Hercule Poirot. A twisty mystery that’s perfect for a beach read.
I have had so many strike outs lately that I needed a sure thing…
Hello Aggie!!
The wily old bird has done it again. The besauch who gets murdered at the beach was so aggressively unlikable that I didn’t care who killed her but it was fun to tromp around with my boy Poirot as he figured it out.
Five stars!!! I feel like I can breathe again!
Agatha Christie never disappoints. Another who-dun-it that keeps you guessing until the end. Perot is amazina as always and the characters are so very well depicted your mind is subconsioulsy casting the movie.
Always love seeing how Hercule Poirot figures out who the killer is!
Hercule Poirot is just fun! Agatha Christie is clever and intriguing. I’ve been fascinated by her stories since I was a teenager. Evil Under the Sun is a great story – not quite her best, but certainly in the top 10. After reading the book, I watched the movie adaption given some of the actors playing the roles. You should read and then watch, …
Another great book by Agatha Christie
This author always makes me smile. They are mysteries, but light-hearted and fun reads.
Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller was born in Torquay, Devon, England, U.K. She was the youngest of three children. She wrote romance novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott and was occasionally published under the name Agatha Christie Mallowan but it is for writing crime mysteries as Agatha Christie that she is best known.
Evil Under The Sun is …
Love the characters, it keeps you guessing.
Agatha Christie books are always entertaining.
Pure Agatha Christie. A fun mystery. You’ll suspect everyone did it.
I never am disappointed with Dame Agatha. Her characters have become old friends. Why? I constantly reread her mysteries looking for the clues I missed upon a first – or second – reading.
Classic Christie
I really enjoy Agatha Christie’s books, but this one seemed contrived, with shallower than usual character development. Bonus: it takes place on an island. I love islands.
If you love Agatha Christie, of course you’ ll love this one, too.
Classic Agatha Christie. Wonderful scenic setting. Delightfully original characters and a plot twist you never see coming.
Wonderful Plots and author is a master.
Ms. Christie is hard to beat! Love her books!!
Agatha Christie always delivers. In this book, Poiret is vacationing on an island, but he is people-watching, not sun bathing. A complex group of people, with a clever murder situation gives Poiret plenty of material for a stunning climax.
A good Book. One of my favorite Agatha Christie books
