When I first noticed Lisa Betancourt, she threatened me with a baseball bat. To be fair, I deserved it. But none of that mattered when I found out I had a baby brother—a brother who is now left to my care. Too bad I don’t know the first thing about parenting. If I have any hope of not ruining this poor kid’s life, I need Lisa’s help. She quickly becomes my salvation, my heart. And even though our … my salvation, my heart. And even though our timing is all wrong, I can’t help but wonder how can I convince her to stay with me—with us—forever.
Cole Simmons is just my insensitive jerk of a neighbor.
Or, that’s all he used to be.
Now he’s in completely over his head, taking care of an adorable child that I’m getting way too attached to way too fast. And the scary part? I’m starting to get attached to Cole, too. After my nasty divorce, I was sure I’d never risk falling in love again—but Cole has me questioning my resolve at every turn. Frankly, I’m starting to wonder if Cole isn’t the only one who is in completely over his head.
Neither of them was looking for love or a ready-made family. But what will they do when they realize they’ve stumbled head-long into both?
This full-length novel can be read as a standalone but is the third book in the Everything’s Better series. You’ll see friends from Everything’s Better with You, Everything’s Better with Kimberly & Cherishing the Goddess. Cole & Lisa’s love story is chock full of Enemies to Lovers, Single Parent, Secret Baby (or two), Nanny (no power imbalance) & Fake Engagement goodness and is safe with NO cheating.

I was so engaged with Cole and Lisa as their great story unfolded and I was so invested in their story that I couldn’t put this book down until I finished reading the very last page!
Wow, what an amazing book. We finally get to see Cole get his happily ever after. And learn more about how he came to the Simmons. This book was very interesting.
I loved Cole and Lisa together, they may have fought against their feelings. But you could see how they fit.
Lucy Eden did amazing with this book.
I highly recommend this book.
This was really cute. I loved Cole and Lisa, and little CJ. I can’t forget about him. The story grabbed me right from the start. Seeing both of these characters come together, for a friendship and it quickly turning into more was beautiful. Great banter, awesome side characters who were great influences for the main characters and the right amount of steam. I am sad there wasn’t an epilogue. I really wanted to see these two a few years into the future and see if their dreams all came true. I’m hoping for another book in this series and getting to see all these awesome characters again and more. 4 stars #2OCCJD
After Lisa and Cole’s initial meet cute, which was not so cute, she’s left with a not very good impression of her new neighbor. But when she becomes his lifeline when he obtains custody of a previously unknown sibling, suddenly their relationship changes. But their relationship will not be easy because both of them have serious baggage, very serious baggage.
Everything’s Better with Lisa was definitely not what I had been expecting. It’s much more substantial and heavier, with some pretty hefty emotional layers to work through. Ultimately, though, I liked it and thought Lisa and Cole made a great couple.
This is my first time reading a book by this author. The characters were well developed in the storyline, you can I feel all the different emotions each character was feeling. I even found myself talking to the characters as if I was a part of the story. Cole’s family really showed unconditional love, along with love is color blind, no matter the race love is love, especially when adopting. Lisa I felt so sad for how she was in a marriage where she catered to her husbands needs and he doesn’t treat her the same way. Then he divorces Lisa for a younger woman, that is a hard pill to swallow.
This storyline line had a combination of romance, mystery, enemies neighbors to Lovers, interracial family and love.
My attention was held from the beginning until the end and I still wanted more. I highly recommend this book to read and I definitely will go back and read Lucy Eden’s previous books since some of the characters are in those books.

This was a nice read. There were parts that did drag on too long.
I really enjoyed this book and ended up staying up until 1 am finishing this book it was so good. Lisa and Cole have a great chemistry together, the family dynamic of Cole’s family is the base of this book, but Lisa’s family also plays a large role in the story and how they relate to each other. Look forward to reading more form this author and also more book with these characters.
