Even though Ian is happily married, he struggles with being estranged from his parents, Sarah and Stu. Are the reasons they no longer speak still relevant 16 years later? Should he make one last effort to find them? And, if he does, can their relationship be mended?
I’ve very much enjoyed the first two books in this series, Everything We Keep (4 stars) and Everything We Left Behind (4 stars), but this one. Wow. This one outdid them all! I’ve loved seeing how the author’s writing style has grown and matured throughout the series. Her words drew me in from the very first paragraph and never let go. I flew through this one because (1) I’ve been waiting impatiently for the final book in this series and (2) I needed to know more about Ian’s childhood.
Everything We Give alternated between Ian’s present with his wife, Aimee, and their 4 year old daughter, Caty, and his past growing up with a mentally ill mother and a father who frequently traveled while working as a sports photographer. Ian followed in his footsteps becoming a well known photographer in his own right. Ian, however, learned from his father’s mistakes and always put his family first. He was an amazing husband and father and yes, I had a crush on him heehee. Like with any marriage, there were struggles and misunderstandings which made Ian wonder how many of his issues stemmed from his difficult childhood. Could finding his mother help heal old wounds and make him feel whole?
I would definitely recommend reading this series in order, and back-to-back, so you don’t forget any of the details like I did. The finale to this trilogy was absolute perfection, bringing tears to my eyes several times. Don’t miss this sweet, suspenseful, and romantic trilogy!
I received an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Heartbreaking., emotional, touching, this is a story you will not want to miss. The life Ian led growing up was very hard on him, an ill mother, a mostly absent father, a journey to the other side of the world and back takes us full circle with Ian and his beloved wife and little girl. The author is one of the best there is..
This is a bittersweet review for me. I have been following James and Aimee, and eventually Ian, from the beginning, from book one. Everything We Give, the third and final book in Lonsdale’s trilogy is…satisfying. Yes, that is the right word. It is perfectly satisfying.
First I want to say that if you intend to read this book, you must first read Everything We Keep and Everything We Left Behind. It is a true trilogy in that you need to read the previous books in order to understand the deep issues and history of the characters. Also, Give may reveal a few things from the previous books, aka spoilers. All three books are completely riveting, grabbing you from page one and easily launching you into a book binge. I say get all three together and read the weekend away.
Lonsdale starts right where she left off and you are immediately back with the characters. Everything We Give focuses on Ian’s story and what a remarkable story it is. His background has shaped him into who he is today as a father and a husband. About to embark on a journey that will truly launch his photography into the stratosphere, Ian has the chance to confront his past. And going back to his past might have everything to do with how his future will unfold. A truly riveting and suspenseful novel, Everything We Give brings their stories to a beautiful end, with closure for all involved. While I would love to continue to know what happened with this character or that one, Kerry Lonsdale wrapped up her characters’ stories wonderfully with everyone exactly where they were destined to be.
As usual for Kerry Lonsdale, Everything We Give is a masterpiece. Aimee and Ian return, along with their adorable daughter and several new characters. I really enjoyed getting to know more about Ian and his history.
While I am so sad that this is the final book in the Everything series, I look forward to reading Kerry’s future books.
I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
The Everything trilogy comes to a bittersweet end with Everything We Give. In this final book, readers get to know Ian’s story. Told in alternating chapters from Ian’s childhood and the present, we learn of his growing up with a mother with mental illness and a father who was away too often because of his work. My heart broke for Ian as he tried so hard to help his mother. That’s quite a burden for one so young and not fully understanding her illness, but he grew up to be a caring and loving man. One can feel his love for Aimee spewing from the pages, and also the anguish he felt for not being able to care for his mother. It made me love Ian more than before. There are a few surprising twists in the book that made a lot of things make sense. I love how this story came together and am so sad to see it end. Kerry Londsdale’s writing is exemplary, and Everything We Give is everything I was hoping it’d be: a very satisfying read with characters that I will miss.
After reading the second book, I felt invested in these characters and their stories. Kerry Lonsdale does not disappoint here. Not only did she make connections I didn’t see coming, her writing continues to be easy and exciting to read! I cannot wait to be able to discuss this book with other readers! Ian’s story ended up being my favorite. It was incredible to trace how he became the man we (and Aimee) met in the first book.
It was bittersweet to read Lonsdale’s third and last book in the Everything series. I enjoyed experiencing the twists and turns of the first two books and getting to know two of the main characters from their unique points of view. I looked forward to reading Ian’s story for months but it only took me a few evenings to devour this book. He’s a complex and interesting character and learning about his childhood and what makes him tick was fascinating. I’m impressed with this author’s ability to change her voice for every novel while the different characters present their own stories. Though each character’s voice is different, Lonsdale still maintains her smooth writing style seamlessly throughout every adventure presented in the trilogy.
I was heartbroken at times for all Ian had to endure as a child, but his challenges made me root even harder for him when he was faced with difficult situations as an adult. For the future, I’d love to read another series by this author!
I loved the first two books in this trilogy and have been waiting patiently (not too patiently) for the final book. WOW – what a fantastic book. To get the absolute most enjoyment out of this book, you really need to read all three books in order.
Everything we Keep was mainly Aimee’s story, Everything we Left Behind was James’ story and Everything we Give is Ian’s story – and what a story it is! Even though Ian is a successful photographer with a wife that he loves and a daughter he adores, he is haunted by his younger years and a mistake that he he made that drove his mother away and destroyed his family. With James back in the picture and a major photography trip for National Geographic, Ian has to decide whether to ignore his past or try to fix his past mistakes at the chance of ruining his future.
Everything we Give totally wraps up all of the issues from the first two books plus gives us a close-up view of Ian’s life. This was a fantastic book and the perfect ending to the trilogy.
Thanks to the author for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.
This has been a wonderful series to read. Starting with the first book and up till now each story has been astounding.
Everything We Give is a wonderful story with deeper meaning, this story has given me insight into real life issues of mental health, (The whole series has really done this wonderfully).
I very much enjoyed reading about real life festivals that I had never heard of before, they are quite interesting.
But of course the best part about this series is the characters, I have loved reading about these characters from the beginning with Everything we Keep to Everything we Left Behind and now Everything We Give. To watch these characters from when they have been broken to see them heal and to see them find love, it has been a wonderful journey.
I can not wait to see what Kerry Lonsdale writes up next.
This series is best read in order.
I received this book through NetGalley.

Wow!! I knew this last book of the series that told Ian’s story would be good, but it was exceptional! What a childhood Ian has overcome. And his love for Aimee… You can practically feel it when you read the lines. The story of Ian’s mom will keep you turning pages and bring a few tears. The last few chapters made my heart swell and left a huge smile on my face. I will really miss these characters. Thankful to have gotten an early peek at this awesome read!
I really did enjoy this entire series. The way Kerry writes is just amazing.
Most of the questions were answered but I would of loved an epilogue or a next chapter of the conversation between Ian and his mom. It was great to see her come around. If the last chapter was in her perspective, I believe I would feel more closure. The conversation could of went 2 ways though. In my mind I hope it went good but it very well could of went bad. Overall, the entire book series was a great one and I definitely recommend reading it. You will have to read the first 2 books for the last one to make sense.
Everything We Give is the final book in the Everything trilogy; it’s bittersweet to have the series end…I feel like these characters are friends…people I truly care about.. people with whom I’ve shared their joys, their triumphs, their tragedies, their sadness, and, mostly, their love. This book is a fast-paced romantic suspense story, filled with emotional highs and lows, and the twists and turns of the mystery of Ian’s traumatic childhood. Ian is a loving husband and father, but can’t move forward until he can confront and come to a resolution with his past. We’ve really watched the character of Aimee grow in this series, from being a naive young lady whose world is torn apart, to a woman who has become confident and secure. There were some surprises in this book as we follow along with Ian on his journey to restore his love and his life, and the scenes told in flashbacks are harrowing and painful. This book kept me up until the wee hours of the night, a minor sacrifice with such a fantastic story! If you have not read the first two books in this series, stop everything and read them before you dive into this one…you will thank me later!
As the last installment of this series, Kerry does a lovely job of tying up everyone’s story. This last book focuses on Ian; describing his upbringing and how his mother shaped who he is today. The chapters Kerry writes about Ian as a child are heartbreaking and feel all too real. You can actually feel Ian’s struggle and pain as a child dealing with a mother who has a mental disorder. I felt like Kerry could have gone just a little bit further in her chapters set in the present day. Some of the interactions between Ian and Amy didn’t feel real. If I flew half-way across the world and found the situation the Amy did, there would be hell to pay especially after everything that James put her through. There are numerous revelations in this book which help Ian begin to heal from his childhood. The book of course ends on a happy note which leaves the reader pretty satisfied. All in all a good happily ever after.
SUPER INTENSE!
Everything We Give, Book 3 in the Everything Series is super intense! This book may be read as a stand-alone but it really needs to be read in chronological order as part of the series to fully understand its significance its significance. This is Ian’s story and what a story it is! Lonsdale takes you on a journey starting with his childhood to the present and her vivid descriptions have you feeling as though you are a silent witness to it all. It isn’t an easy story but it certainly is the one that puts the entire series in perspective. When you read the last sentence, you will find yourself sitting and reflecting a few moments on this whole journey. It’s one of those “WOW!” moments! This story is overrun with such deep, emotional meaning that it will leave you thinking about your own family and relationships and how much we often take our normal lives for granted. I was provided an ARC of this book by the author. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence. I have preordered a copy of this book for my own personal collection.
