I was never into fairy tales. But discovering a real live princess in my house reminds me of the story of the three bears and some chick who breaks into their pad, eats all their food, and sleeps in their beds.Just like the one that’s in mine right now.At first, I thought she was dead, but the rise and fall of her chest told me that she was just passed out, probably from the half-empty bottle of … probably from the half-empty bottle of Bordeaux I’d been saving for a special occasion. Two grand down the drain, courtesy of Goldi-effing-locks here, who’s not only passed out cold, but she’s also naked.
I should walk out right now and let her be…
But I can’t. Not when there’s something else next to the Bordeaux, something that shouldn’t be here. And it’s sitting on top of a note that begins with the words…
“I’m sorry I failed you…”

This was the first book I’ve read where the heroine was older than the hero, and I loved it! Durano does an excellent job with character development, making them loveably flawed. I can’t wait to read more!
Emotional on so many levels (no spoilers) not all of them sad. Every journey has its ups and downs, some more than others, as in the case with Harlow. From her upbringing in foster care to her achievements in her field of medicine to her love life she seen it all. Just when she’s given up she finds her light and her happiness.
A great read thank you, Liz Durano.
I was quickly swept up in Harlow and Dax’s beautiful story. Feeling as though I was right there with them. My heart ached for Harlow as she struggled to come to terms with a tragic loss while dealing with her terrible ex-husband.
I was overjoyed when Dax befriended Harlow. Together they help each other heal.
This was such a great story and I loved going on this journey with them.
Audiobook version:
This story broke all the molds of what a romance book should look like- addressing many trigger topics. It was very well written and absolutely created a one of a kind story that was a joy to read. Well done!
Narration…. I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed listening to Melissa and Joe. Both gave a fantastic performance. This team is an insta-buy for me!

Everything She Ever Wanted
A Different Kind of Love, Book 1
By: Liz Durano
Narrated by: Melissa Moran, Joe Hempel
This is an original, well written, well told story that engrossed me from start to end. The storylines and characters are interesting and well developed. Circumstances in life leaves Harlow a broken person, she is despondent and feels she is all alone. She is on road trip that eventually lands her in a rental in Taos, New Mexico. The owner, Dax, not knowing the house was rented comes home to find a beautiful woman in his bed in addition to other things. Worried about her he returns the next day and he is intrigued by her but she has no interest. When they meet again a friendship starts to brew between them and the start of a beautiful relationship. He helped her find her inner strength and she gains confidence to face and battle her ex-husband. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, you do not see many older woman, younger man romances and none as well done as this. Thank you for a great & entertaining story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Melissa Moran & Joe Hempel are awesome narrators and voice performers. They are talented storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen

Older woman, younger man romance. Harlow was devastated regarding her husband wanting a divorce . She ends up leaving and going go Taos New Mexico. The green living off the grid development intrigues her. There she meets Dax 13 years younger. The story starts when Harlow was at her lowest, but ends up finding herself and a new perspective on life.
Melissa Moran and Joe Hempel bring this story to life! Giving all the characters their own personality an voices.

Everything She Ever Wanted
I really enjoyed this story, it was so easy to get immersed with the characters and what they were going through.
This was my first Liz Dorano’s book, and won’t be my last. This is the first book in A Different Kind of Love Series. This is a romance between a younger man and an older woman story. Harlow and Dax’s story is beautifully written. They share an instant attraction and a strong chemistry, and a beautiful love. Harlows’s story is heartbreaking. Dax is so handsome, mature, loving, and protective. He is the perfect man for Harlow. I love all about this story: the characters, the storyline, and the ending. Melissa Moran and Joe Hempel did an amazing job with the narration. Both have a great voice and they read the story with sensibility, and at a perfect pace. I enjoyed every minutes while listening to this audiobook, and I highly recommend it. Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series.
I thought that this read was very moving and emotional. This book’s story line quickly pulled me in. It is an older woman/younger man romance that is made up of powerful emotions, drama, passion, heartache, angst, humor and romance. This is a book that very firmly has its feet planted in reality. That is what makes these characters and their story so engaging and enjoyable. Harlow and Dax are two very different people that are very different stages of their lives. These facts do not stop their immediate attraction to each other though. Harlow, I think will resonate with so many readers, for one reason or another. From her painful childhood, her burning need to succeed to be worthy, her struggle with fertility, her terrible marriage and husband and the horrible insecurities and guilt she feels over it all ring true and are so very common for so many of us. Dax was a really good guy. He had a bit of baggage from his past but for the most part he had his head on straight. Together I thought these two made a great couple. I thought that they both brought something into the relationship that made them more as a couple than they were singularly. I really enjoyed it.
Harlow drove out of New York five months ago running from a nasty divorce, an stillborn son and the lost of her job as Pediatric kidney transplants surgeon. When she meets handsome but too young Drax she is drown to him. But can their relationship have a future with everything going on in their lives? A great love story and the audiobook is great.
Everything you ever wanted in a romance read
Story content review:
Harlow, a pediatric transplant surgeon, mistakes Dax, a master carpenter, for a courier wen he shows up with some paperwork at her vacation rental tat is off the grid. As the story progresses first impressions are overcome, tragic pasts are laid bare, and lies and omissions could derail everything she ever wanted. Liz Durano created a complex tale of loss and learning to find love. Her characters are well written and realistically flawed, the story drew me in while keeping me guessing, and I find myself wanting to sit back and enjoy the rough and winding road she takes. I am looking forward to reading the next books in this series that contain everything you ever wanted in a romance read.

Audio review:
Overall I loved this book, the audio performers engaged the reader and portrayed the characters well. The only thing I didn’t care for was how the female narrator kept changing the accent (sounding sometimes Spanish, sometimes Italian and/or Russian) for Nana. If one is reading the book and the audio simultaneously there were a few deviations (2 major and less than 10 minor) from the printed book, one of the major deviations caused me to wonder where that statement was coming from (Chapter 16 eBook/17 audio book) while I was reading. The others did not detract from the overall story and would not be noticed otherwise.
I received a free audio copy of the book from the author for a book I had previously purchased. I had the opportunity to review or not.
This story starts at an emotional high, then evens out to an even plateau as our female character Harlow James finds her footing after a very traumatic lose. It doesn’t hurt that she is confronted then befriended by a ten year her junior Dax Drexsell. Nor that they build a friendship and love in the time they are together, but as budding romance builds secrets, lies and emotions get in the way along with Harlow’s past which must be resolved to bring about an HEA.
Some people might have issues with the age difference between Harlow and Dax. I for one do not, love to me does not recognize a number, only the feelings between to people.
Reviewed for @audiobook Obsession and thank you Liz Durano author and narrators Melissa Moran and Joe Hempel for bringing this story to life.
This was the first book I’ve read from Liz and it was really good. I loved the story and all the characters. I think, most women, can definitely relate to Harlow and the pain and heartache she went through and her feelings about a younger man. Dax is an amazing character and easy to fall in love with. Goes to show, age is nothing but a number and when you know, you know. Great story.
