I have a secret … loved,
in the most unlikely of places—
onstage at a concert for the hottest alt-rock band around.
He pulls me backstage,
and I can’t keep my secret any longer.
Now he’s back in my life,
back in my thoughts,
and I wish he were back in my bed.
But he hates me.
And who can blame him?
Second chances only happen in a fantasy world …
Right?

Aaron’s book is absolutely everything I was expecting and even more. Aaron and Sam were high school sweethearts that went their separate ways after high school because he was going to New York and she had her future mapped out in Virginia. Things definitely take an unexpected turn and we learn things for Sam didn’t go as she had planned and now she is forced to talk to Aaron about these things. They have a bunch of things to work out and Aaron sort of resents her for a while, his family definitely does, but he starts to see the girl he loved and longed for since forever and wants to reconcile. I knew from the other books that Aaron, Mason, and Blair’s had an unusual relationship but we learn more about it in this book but what I couldn’t stand was Blaire trying to go all he is mine because that’s not what they agreed to so I kind of wanted to smack her but it all works out in the end.
I wondered what happened to Kendra’s s ex but I got the answer in this book. Aaron and Samantha got a second chance at the love they shared in high school. It was difficult for Aaron to forgive Samantha for keeping him in the dark about his daughter but not forgiving her would only cause him pain because he never got over her or she him. Regardless of their years apart and the heartache about Samantha did they found their way back to each other.
Finding out he’s a father after a few years
Aaron and Samantha were high school sweethearts and then after graduation found out Samantha was pregnant. They decided to end the pregnancy and he went on to be in his band and follow his dreams. Samantha couldn’t do it and her dreams became her daughter. She felt bad not telling him but didn’t want to end his dreams for the future. After a few years they run into each other and he finds out that he has a daughter. What will he do? And can they go on to raise their daughter together? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Kismet, coincidence, fate? We have Aaron’s story from the band Cataclysm. Sam is pulled on stage and serenaded when Aaron sees the only girl he’s ever loved. He let her go five years ago when she pushed him away and now, he’s a successful rock star. Sam has a secret and when Aaron is ready to rekindle their past, she decides to share her secret. Maddie is adorable, and Aaron jumps in headfirst to make up for all the lost time.
Everything I Want is a wonderful story about second chances, forgiveness and hope. It’s an easy read with lots of cute and funny moments and of course, super steamy page too. Great read to escape from life and enjoy the band again.
4.5 stars
I loved this addition to the Cataclysm series. The author did a great job explaining the thought processes of the characters. I liked that it showed the reasons why she made the decisions that she did and the guilt that she felt even though it was never done maliciously. The same can be said about Aaron and why he felt hurt on all that he had missed out but also how he was resigned to the reasons why the decision had been made. My favorite part was watching them move forward though and how they both resolved the fears that they had in concerns toward each other and Maddie. Maddie was very cute.
Again, this author does an exceptional job with her stylistic choices that draw the audience in and makes them invested in the characters and story that seems real and not fiction. My only gripe of this story is that it didn’t give me the type of epilogue that I was wanting. It did give me insight in the next book which surprised me because I was not expecting that story to be next.
I highly recommend this series and anything that this author writes.
I can’t even put into words how much I loved Aaron, Sam and Maddie’s story!!! Jerica had me feeling every emotion. Aaron and Sam loved each other enough to make a tough decision after high school. They each went on with what they felt was best for the other. A surprise birthday night, a few years later for Sam brings them together again with a secret revealed that will change both their lives. I loved how much they loved each other and Maddie. Their story had me crying and cheering. Jerica has given us a second chance with two friends, lovers and so much more. Add in family and friends and I did not want their story to end. I have read all of Jerica’s books and they just get better and better. I can’t wait for her next one!!!
Amazing read.
Well Jerica MacMillon has done it once again, and written another tremendously captivating story in this series. There is not one book I have not loved, and Aaron and Samantha’s (Sam) story is no exception. They were High school sweethearts and It is a rocky road for them, because of a secret that Sam has Kept from Aaron that ultimately kept them apart for many years. That is until Sam was pulled out of the crowd at a Cataclysm concert (Aaron’s band) and was serenaded by one of his band mates.Talk about a shock blast from the past,Aaron is totally intrigued by this women and whisks her backstage to catch up.
This starts a whole series of events that takes Sam and Aaron on a journey of confession, forgiveness and second chances. The connection between them is still very much alive, but Sam’s guilt over the past has her dropping a Bombshell on Aaron that could destroy them ever rekindling their once young Love.
This book drew me in right from the first few lines,I love being back in this world Jerica has created and it felt amazing discovering Aaron and Sam’s romance .Jerica is a wonderful storyteller and each book is unique I highly recommend this Rockstar second chance romance. It is a fantastic read that will leave you wanting more I Loved it.
I love second chance romance and throw in a secret baby and you have a fantastic book! I loved Aaron and Samantha’s story! They had been high school sweethearts but due to circumstances they went their separate ways only to meet up years later. Finding out he had a daughter was tough on him but he jumped in with both feet to get to know his daughter. Will they be able to work through their past and make their family work?
Everything I Want was an amazing, heartwarming story! I look forward to Jerica’s next book!
So amazing! I love a good second chance trope and this book does not disappoint! Jerica MacMillan is one of my favorite authors and I devour her books as soon as they are released. You should too, they are that good!
Everything I Want is book three in the Cataclysm series. It can be read as a standalone. Aaron and Samantha were high school sweethearts. They had plans and dreams for after high school. There was an unexpected pregnancy and they agree to get an abortion except Sam decided not to and didn’t tell Aaron. Sam life plans changed and Aaron followed his and became part of the band Cataclysm. I don’t know if Sam was ever going to tell Aaron about their daughter but during a chance meeting with Aaron years later she kind of blurts it out. I am not going say I agreed with her for not telling but I understand why she didn’t do it right away. She a kind, big hearted person and tries to what she thinks is right for everyone. Aaron is super sweet and nice. He steps up right away and wants everything. I liked these two together. Towards the end I was a little worried that their story might be spread into two book but it’s just one book and it’s wrapped but just right. I really didn’t like Blaire in this one but the Epilogue is in her POV and now I’m waiting for her story.
While Sam didn’t make the best decision in the past, she did what she thought was right at the time. Even though it broke her heart to hurt Aaron.
I loved that even though it might have taken a bit, Aaron jump in with both feet when it came to Maddie.
I read this straight on through because it was so good. Excellent characters and story.
I really loved Sam and Aaron’s story. I didn’t agree with the decision Sam made but I understood it. I’m glad they got their second chance.
I’m lucky I have KU, ad it let’s me binge when the stars align. They did just that this weekend (the Memorial Day break, and I’m not home so can’t even spend it with family) with both the time and my new gourmet quality delight, Jerica MacMillan’s Cataclysm. I’d already read these once before but they’re so much fun it was worth doing again. These follow members of the band Cataclysm, and extended family, with the first three books following the romance of different members, Anything You Need (Book 1) focusing on lead singer / songwriter Marcus and his lifelong best friends turn lover romance with socialite Kendra, Shouldn’t Want You (Book 2) focusing on leader guitarist / composer Danny, his 2year old son Eli and romance with babysitter Ava, Everything I Want (Book 3) being the classic second chance romance between band member Aaron and former high school flame Samantha (Sam) who didn’t tell him she’d become pregnant just before their post senior year breakup so this is a surprise baby tale too (and 4 year old Madison is adorably perfect), and Just For Now (Book 4) focusing on Cataclysm band assistant Blair (who is a major supporting character in the prior books) and her romance with while fading superstar rocker Beckett taking a turn (while her band is in break) as his tour manager. As you can tell, each of these tales takes romance from a very different perspective yet – while they can all work perfectly standalone (though they’re even better reading in chronological and book series order) – they work beautifully as a set with the different characters from each book having major roles in the other books. These are totally wonderful and addictively fun romances. Enough that I literally could not put them down and binge read from book 1 to 4 nonstop. I totally, and highly, recommend these superbly written tales – and I am massively looking forward to when the next one comes, focusing on the remaining band member still single.
As with every one of Jerica Macmillan books I fall more in love with her writing!
Aaron and Sam where high school sweethearts but when its time for them to go to college she becomes pregnant and tells Aaron she going to terminate but she doesn’t. 4 yrs later, she tells her secret!
Will Aaron and Sam be able to get past the lies she told or will she and Aaron get their happily ever after?
A secret baby and a rockstar. The latest addition to the Cataclysm series is quite well done in that neither the H or the h ever stopped loving each other. Maddie was well written and her behavior and language were age appropriate.
