As far as first impressions go, nearly dropping a tree onto a federal agent is admittedly not the greatest one I’ve ever made. As an opening gambit in pursuit of a feisty, deliciously curvy woman, it’s decidedly the worst. Doesn’t help matters that Miss Independence insists she doesn’t have time to get sidetracked with a personal life. Which she stubbornly maintains even while looking at me like … at me like she’s the lumberjack and I’m the tree she wants to climb.
Good thing she’s on a mission to catch the bad guys—her one shot at greatness, she believes—and needs my help to do it. A ride is all she says she wants. And trust me, I’m damn sure it’s more than she’s ever asked any man for before.
So, of course I’m going to give her a ride.
…But I’m not promising to behave.
The HIS TO CLAIM Series
Book 1: Every Last Touch (Walker & Ashley)
Book 2: Every Last Look (Barrett & Quinn)
Book 3: Every Last Secret (Sutton & Maddy)
Book 4: Every Last Reason (Emerson & Delia)
Previously published as Walker Pierce (c) 2017, completely rewritten in first person POV and revised throughout with a bit more steam (note that this hero makes a point not to rush the heroine—making his gruff patience its own brand of sexy—so the book does start a little tamer than my usual stuff, but it picks up, as it is a Christa Wick book, after all grin), along with newly added content, and a different extended ending.

Riveting story! Christa Wick does warn us that it starts out tamer than her other books, but that makes it no less outstanding a book. I’m excited that this is the first book in a series of interconnected books that each tell the story of one of the members of the Turk family. I had more than one favorite quote highlighted, like this one: “He’s a Turk. He will always be there.”
I want me a Walker too. That’s what you will be saying once you read this story and all his family too. For a woman like Ashley, love is not a word familiar to her. Raised as an oops-a-daisy baby to two professionals who have no time for each other, so intellectually shouldn’t the child be able to raise themselves? Or so they think.
So, from birth that is what they geared her for. So, she was fully self-sufficient, capable, and able to master far more and beyond most five-year-olds. In all areas except social skills. Along with her weight which is even an issue, now. Her employer is ruthless about it and badgers her.
But not Walker, the first tree that almost takes his federal agent out for good at their first meeting, finds his love at first sight. For Ashley, she is totally smitten but has learned to never get her hopes up or show emotion because model perfect, six-pack abs men, never look twice at her. Yet, near-death by a tree on his watch Walker did see her.
Though even with her smart quips and standoffish ways he didn’t stop his pursuit. He saw she needed protection even if she did not see it. As with her old leg injury from having to go around the disaster of the tree. He wanted to be there for her, to be her crutch. The chemistry and banter between these two make this a fun fast read. There is action and mystery yet it is humorous.
What endears me the most is the large family and extended family that Walker has, and that he is all about making Ash a part of it. I give this: 5++++ stars. Free on Amazon.
I was so ready for this second helping of the Turks! This time we get to know Walker. He is a complete sweetheart. Handsom, charming, strong, protective, supportive, encouraging, caring, family oriented, and, if you’ve not already fallen for him, he’s tender and passionate too! He falls completely head over heals for Ashley, a newly transfered fiesty park ranger sent specifically to deal with poaching in the area. She is fresh faced, smart, courageous, self-reliant, and independant. She definately does not have the strong, loving family background and support system that is apparent with Walker and the rest of the Turks. She is curvy, and because of that, and her history, she carries some personal issues and baggage that hold her back in some areas.
Walker is determined to make Ashley see how wonderful she is, and get her to stay even after the poaching crisis passes. He knows she is skiddish, and he only has one chance to do things right. The slow burn of their relationship, and the focus on the mystery component were intentional as Walker gradually worked his way into Ashley’s heart and made himself a home there.
Questions still remained though. Would they get the poacher(s)? What about the tampering/destruction? What’s to become of Walker & Ashley’s budding relationship? Find the answer to these questions and more in your own copy of Every Last Touch. Definately one to get for your library. I did receive the ARC of this book, but plan to get the entire series for my library when it is complete.
I enjoyed book two in this series. There wasn’t a lot of sexy times until the end but the plot was interesting therefore in kept me engaged in the story in the story. My goodness Walker was exactly what you want in a man. Loyal to his family and those he loves. I also loved Ashley. She was a strong female who didn’t allow anyone to put her down or shake her confidence in her ability to do her job. I’m glad this story was the same time line as the first book because there is no one more adorable than 2 year old Leah. I’m on to Barrett’s story next. Until next time y’all happy reading.
This book was another solid story in this series! Walker and Ashley have a ton of chemistry together. Ashley is a federal agent who is investigating illegal activity at the national park and Walker is working on cleaning up some illegally cut trees when they meet. He falls for her at first sight but she doesn’t believe him. The story was sweet and loving. It was nice to see the Turk family involved also.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book!
I’m absolutely loving Christa Wick’s His To Claim Series and Book 2 ‘Every Last Touch’ is an incredibly sweet love story. Ashley is a strong career oriented woman, she’s learned early on to be fiercely independent and is all business. Finding it hard to have it all, she’s focused on her career, until a strong, rugged, alpha lumberjack of a man falls into her life. Walker is passionate, determined and loving. He falls slowly and completely in love with the beautiful and luscious Ash. Proving to be a gentleman at heart he nurses her through an injury and helps her with an important job. They fall sweetly and maddeningly in love. I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet love story and their much deserved happily ever after.
The storyline was wonderfully written and the characters were so well developed that I really became enthralled with Walker and Ashley as a couple which made it very difficult to put this book down to go to bed!
One of my favorite stories!
I adore the Turk family! They are so close to each other, so loving and supportive. Walker is a prime example of a man raised in such a loving atmosphere. Ashley, on the other hand, has never experienced anything remotely like that. She is dedicated to her work, thorough, can keep a calm head in dangerous situations, but accepting that Walker might care: not so easy. Walker is nothing if not persistent, though, and works his way into her heart.
An excellent story, all around! I love the family interactions, the romance between Walker and Ashley, the high adventure in stopping criminals – all of it! The ending is intensely romantic, I finished the book with a satisfied sigh.
I really enjoyed this book. It offers a wonderful blend of romance and suspense. Walker and Ashley were terrific characters and I loved them as a couple. Their story is filled with deep emotions and an incredible amount of beautiful sweetness. Walker was so swoon worthy. I loved how hooked he was right from the first moment he met Ashley. Hot, charming, family oriented, caring, protective, strong and tender, he was the complete package. I thought Ashley was just super. This capable, curvy girl had some body issues and emotional baggage but was also courageous, stubborn, independent, smart and fiesty. She was a heroine that was easy to root for and connect with. The chemistry simmers between these two as the story unfolds until it finally reaches a satisfying boiling point toward the end of the book. This is book two in this series featuring The Turk Family. It can be easily read as a standalone but I think once you meet the members of this family you will want to read more about them. I will issue a warning that there are a couple instances in this book that could be upsetting to some readers (Animal poaching, kidnapping and an animal attack). So if you think that these might be triggers for you or simply something that is not to your liking, you should make an informed decision about reading this book. This is my favorite of this series so far and I am eager to read Barrett’s story next. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Another great book in the His To Claim series! I love the Turks!
It was a sweet curvy girl romance with a mystery and suspense! Walker and Ashley were great for each other!
Ashley was a very independent woman used to taking care of herself, but Walker is there when she needed him! Walker was so sweet and gentle taking care of Ashley! I loved this book and would recommend it to everyone!
I loved this sweet Montana romance!
This was a beautiful story, a welcome return to the Turk family. This time, Walker crosses paths with a federal agent who is investigating crimes in his neck of the woods. Ashley is a smart, perceptive investigator who is dedicated to her job and reluctant to accept help from anyone, especially Walker. But her injured leg requires her to slow down and Walker takes every opportunity to assist her in every way he can.
Walker was so, so sweet with her, such a pillar of strength there was no way she would be able to pass up the chance to spend more time with him. I loved the deliberate pace of their relationship, and the focus on the investigation and all the various directions it took them. I loved seeing more of the Turk family, especially getting to know Sutton and Emerson more. Little Leah is as cute as ever, and Lindy is every woman’s role model.
The HEA was very nicely done, and I enjoyed the nod to tradition. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
