Granted, standing in the middle of a deserted road with an axe in each hand probably wasn’t the best way to get a car to stop for me. But stop, she did. Well, sort of. Okay, so she was just avoiding a rollover into the same ditch I’d broken down in when she braked long enough for me to hop in her truck bed. Still, it’s fate. Not just because I need a ride asap to join the other smokejumpers in my … the other smokejumpers in my crew already gearing up at the airstrip to fight a massive forest fire heading toward my family ranch, but more so because this is going to be a helluva story we’ll be telling our grandkids one day.
Just as soon as I can get the skittish thing to trust that I’m nothing like whatever it is she’s been running from.
The HIS TO CLAIM Series
Book 1: Every Last Doubt (Adler & Sage)
Book 2: Every Last Touch (Walker & Ashley)
Book 3: Every Last Look (Barrett & Quinn)
Book 4: Every Last Secret (Sutton & Maddy)
Book 5: Every Last Reason (Emerson & Delia)
Previously published as Barrett Cole (c) 2017, completely rewritten in first person POV and revised throughout with a touch more steam (note that this hero is really gentle with his skittish heroine, so the book does start a little tamer than my usual stuff — but it picks up, as it is a Christa Wick book, after all grin), along with newly added content, and a different extended ending.

This book was outstanding. I’m not just talking about the romance; the storyline was very informative as well. I learned new things about forest fires. Also, I think the author really expressed well the feelings family members and loved ones have when someone important to them has a risky job. I greatly appreciate when the main characters get their HEA well before the story is over so readers can get a glimpse of their life as a couple. Being that this is book 3 in the series, I’m enjoying reading about the care and chivalry that comes from the Turk brothers so far. One of my most favorite quotes: “I always come back, Quinn.”
Quinn and Barrett’s first encounter was funny/ not funny. How did Barrett expect Quinn to react when there is a gigantic serial killer looking axe man flagging you down in the middle of a dark road. Perfect reaction Quinn. I adored Quinn. I loved how she talked to herself and had a quirky personality. Barrett was another great Turk man. Wow Quinn’s sister is mean and crazy. I’m on to Sutton and Maddie’s story. Until next time y’all happy reading.
This was another solid offering from this series! Barrett is a firefighter who meets Quinn when he needs a ride to the sight of the fire. He had ended up in the ditch after an accident. Quinn was on her way to her new property left to her. The fire had destroyed the cabin in which she was going to live. Barrett took her to his mom’s house and that’s where their story begins. I really enjoyed reading their story as well as catching up with the Turk family. Such a pleasure to read!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book!
What a read that was followed by a big sigh as these two, Barrett and Quinn had me flipping the pages, from their first meet till the end…where I sighed and swooned some more. These two lit up the pages and I LOVED how easily it all flowed and came together. Once again the characters were AMAZING, a great build up to their steam and a few misty eye times while reading. I LOVED how there were no jealousies, no other women coming between them and how everyone pulled together as a family for a stranger, welcoming her with open arms and no judgements. I LOVED how loyal and fiercely protective Barrett was and how he didn’t waste time or shy away from his feelings or run from them….sigh…swoon…sigh…I want all these brothers for myself.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
I don’t even know how it’s possible but each successive Turk Brother gets hotter, sweeter and more charming. This is Barrett and Quinn’s romance and it totally stole my heart. The way these two meet was so unique and in my opinion simply unforgettable. The wonderful story quickly captures your interest and really never lets go. There is plenty of emotions, drama and humor as the story unfolds. Barrett was so swoon worthy! Charming, protective, supportive and a real hero, this man is the complete package and a true keeper. Quinn was smart, sweet and talented. Her situation was both terrifying and heartbreaking. I loved these two together. The feelings and connection between these two are deep, powerful, strong and incredibly beautiful. I adored this absolutely amazing romance.
I love Barrett and Quinn’s story!
I love this series! It keeps getting better with each book! I love the Turk family! This book had me hooked from the start! From the very unusual first meeting to all the trouble Quinn’s family causes her, It was a very entertaining story! The Turks take her into their family and make her one of their own. Barrett took his time showing Quinn how much he cared for her! This story is so good! I didn’t want it to end! The epilogues were epic! I can’t wait for read the next book!
Another fantastic Turk family romance!
While this is a standalone romance featuring Barrett, the middle of the five brothers, it’s really the entire Turk family that Quinn falls in love with. And who can blame her? The relatives she’s running from have certainly made her doubt herself on every level, but her run-in with Barrett gives her a new appreciation for family.
I loved how this story brought in Aunt Dotty and the cousins a bit more than before, and Quinn’s connection to them through Jester was quietly, yet significantly emphasized. Quinn’s romance with Barrett was perfectly paced as she had to rebuild herself from the inside out before she could trust in a new relationship, and it was beautiful to watch Barrett show her how strong she could was.
Everyone should have, or at the very least know, a family like the Turks. The HEA was just as sweet as in the earlier books, and I appreciate that in this family, traditional values are still treasured. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
