Two young men haunted by their pasts. One bond that can save them both.
Sarcastic loud-mouth, Silas Brigs is used to taking care of himself. He’s done it for years, after all. But the too-perfect Ben Adams has other plans. Against all odds, the California diver has worked his way under Silas’s prickly exterior, and Silas is left to wrestle with the simmering attraction building between them.
… between them.
When their feelings can no longer be ignored, Silas and Ben must work together to navigate their insecurities and trauma, or risk the delicate relationship they’ve come to rely on. But Silas’s life is filled with more than simple high school drama, and being his friend—let alone more—puts Ben in danger. Monsters from Silas’s past refuse to sleep, and the secrets are piling up. Unfortunately for Silas, some truths don’t stay hidden.

Nikole Knight is now my favorite author. She’s an incredible author with incredible writing. Far From Ruined is the second series I’ve read and I wasn’t disappointed. The second book in this series, Every Hidden Truth, had me crying – like bawling like a baby. Knight really knows how to appeal to the readers’ emotions. And this only comes from talent.
Gah Every Hidden Truth is just as good if not better than Every Broken Thing, I floved it!
Silas and Ben finally cross the line they have been toeing, that fine line between being friends and and flirting to becoming boyfriends, and damn it is sweet.
The banter between these two has me laughing out loud.
I love that their broken pieces are what hold each other together.
Book 3 cannot come out soon enough, I can’t wait to see how their story ends.
This was a great read.
Definitely a very entertaining story.
I enjoyed this addition to this series.
I can’t wait to read more.
This book picks up exactly where the first left off. In this installment, Ben and Silas really delve into their feelings and decide to pursue a romantic relationship. I loved this. It felt like two teenagers really trying to make a go of it. Then with the added issue of Silas’ trauma, it is another level that just really adds to the story. I really love how patient both Silas and Ben are with everything, and how it doesn’t just magically get fixed. I was so saddened by the attack on them and their relationship. It would be very hard. I felt so heartbroken for them. I love Silas’ dad, wow he is the best. I also love Aunt June and Uncle Henry. They are so wonderful. All the sider characters are really great. This book has so much depth and I just cannot recommend enough.
ARC provided and this is my honest review.
The first book made it clear that Silas and Ben still had secrets and here, even as they start to let each other in and get closer, the past is still there waiting to take them down. So happy book three was already out when I read this one. It would have been awful to wait to see how things end.
“Every broken thing” was my first book by Nicole Knight and the next volume “Every hidden truth” seamlessly follows the events of the first volume.
I don’t know why I didn’t have this author on my radar earlier, but after this series I will definitely be reading more books by her.
Her writing style continues to be great. Written in a loosey-goosey and captivating way. The characters were created in depth and the secondary protagonists are likable as well.
Silas still has a big mouth and is prickly, but patient Ben slowly manages to get through to Silas. They eventually can’t deny the attraction. And there were some really hot scenes. But not only Silas has a past, Ben does too and then things start to get out of hand.
It was very emotional at the end and I felt and suffered with Ben endlessly. Volume two ends with a cliffhanger and I really need to know what happens next with Ben and Silas.
I absolutely recommend this series!
Ben and Silas are so sweet together. They are tentative and dance around their attraction to each other. Once they admit they like each other they are both just so happy and walking on air. But then there’s the jerk lurking around just waiting to screw it all up. Ugh.
Teenagers in love, friendships and bullying. Total tears near toward the end. Just sad. Hoping for happiness in the third book.
This is the second book in the Far From Ruined series. I thought the first one was good but this one surpassed it. This continues where Every Broken Thing left off. Ben and Silas’s relationship feels so real. They are eighteen and act like it. They are friends as well as lovers, but they have secrets that they keep close to the vest. Overall this was a phenomenal story! It was really well written, highly recommend!! I’m voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
4,5 stars.
This is the second book in this series, and it continues where the first one left off. (You really need to have read the first book before reading this one.)
Ben and Silas are friends and in love, but they both are scared to ruin their friendship if they would act upon their true feelings. But their chemistry is hot and undeniable, and you just know that when they give in, sparks will fly.
And they did!
I loved how natural they are, how organic their relationships develops. They’re both 18, and they act like it.
Everything is going very well. They become lovers and best friends. Trying to be there for one another no matter what. But they too have secrets they are not ready to share yet, and that’s a dark cloud hovering over them. You just feel that something’s going to happen, because everything sounds too good too soon.
And yes, when eventually all hell breaks lose, it’s bad. Really bad. I felt for them, I felt for Silas. I understood where he came from, but poor, poor Ben…He has my heart and under his tough exterior hides an insecure, scarred and lonely guy and I just wished Silas could have crawled out of his dark thoughts and offered Ben a hand. Some understanding.
But he didn’t, and now I really need to know what’s going to happen in the third and final book!
I highly recommend this series – it’s very well written, there are quite some hot and steamy scenes, but the side characters are great too, and it has a very real, organic way about it. It’s about 18 year olds and they sound and act like it. There are a lot of feelings involved too, and so it’s not always an easy read. But I suggest you give it a try if you like story’s with angst and feelings and genuine characters.
This book ends in a cliffhanger, so you’ll have to read the third book to know where Ben and Silas’s story eventually will take you.
So this book picks up right where the last one left off! Silas and Ben continue on their journey. This is a tough journey of overcoming ones past in order to move forward and become the person you’re meant to be. I don’t want to give too much away because it is a continuing story line but I will say I am so glad that I waited to read all 3 books at one was because this one is a cliffhanger as well! Diving right in to the next one!!!
This is the second book in a three-book series and it is the perfect companion to ‘Every Broken Thing.’
We learn more about the trauma both young men have experienced. As their love for each other deepens, even as it is tested, and family dynamics are explored in greater detail, you feel like you know them on a personal level. You’ll find yourself cheering them on from the sidelines while looking over your should along with Silas.
I’m so impressed with Nikole. She is definitely an author with fine observational skills of young adults and has the ability to weave a story that is authentic and beautiful.
Yes! so I waited to read this second book until I knew book 3 was near release!!! Glad I did because yes… cliffhanger.. but it leaves you wanting more! This is the continuing story of two Very Opposite High School age boys.. Silas with a dark and secret past and sweet Ben!! I do not want to give too much plot and romance away as this is a continuing story.. but I will say this is the book where one of them has to deal with his past so the two of them can move toward their future. It is angsty.. you will be happy, sad and mad throughout! I received an ARC of this book I recommend for those who enjoy a romance that is about growing up and becoming who you are meant to be with the love and support of another!
