On an ordinary morning, Maria Colson takes her baby son Dylan to the corner store. She turns her back for only a few seconds. When she looks again, she sees his empty stroller, as Dylan is being abducted into a waiting van. Maria climbs into the van, but is violently thrown to the road where she is left for dead as the vehicle vanishes without a trace.
As Maria fights for her life and her … her anguished young husband keeps a beside vigil, the FBI and police across metro Sea-Tac and Washington State search for Dylan.
Seattle Mirror reporter Jason Wade is under pressure to bring in a big story, and the Colson kidnapping could be it. It’s certainly a bizarre case with pieces that just don’t add up: The Colsons are a hard-working couple. Former high school sweethearts. No problems. No enemies.
Then Jason and his dad, a private detective haunted by his former life as a cop, discover a grisly murder of a young woman that is somehow connected to the Colsons.
Now, in a dark Seattle underground of desperate dreamers and ex-convicts, Jason embarks on an investigation that parallels one led by Homicide Detective Grace Garner.
They’re both hunting for the one piece of the puzzle that connects the baby’s disappearance with a spine-tingling case of revenge. And time is running out, because whoever took little Dylan Colson is more dangerous than anyone could ever imagine.

Your list of possible desriptions was stuck so I couldn’t adequately describe it. Excellent book. Worth a read
Excelllent. Can’t imagine the terror of having a child taken. A real page turner; i couldn’t put it down.
Great read, was very twisty- had to keep reading late into the night!
I like his work; read in one gulp on the edge of your seat the whole time
I love Rick Mofina’s books He is one of the best writers I read, and I read a lot of authors. The one and only reason I rated this one low was because there is something “technical” wrong with it on the kindle. Every other page is written in different print , and each print type starts at different places in the book . It is impossible to follow. I was so disappointed. It is not the author , but rather some big glitch in the formatting. Needs to be fixed.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I would reccomend it for a vacation read because you won’t want to put it down.
The author left a few minor plots hanging or I would give it 5 stars.
Another great book by the author, Rick Mofina
Everything by Rick Mofina is a real page Turner.
Could Jack Reacher happen? Nah, but he’s fun. This story could happen. Great read.
Loved the characters. Wade was a great journalist that was very curious to keep the story moving.
Talented writer who thinks outside the box.
great author.
it was one of those books you can not but down til the end.
I rarely quit a book, but I started this one and quit after a few chapters. Too many characters (each with their own story within the story) to keep track of. Seemed like the author created a bunch of characters and backstories just to fill up more pages. It was so distracting I lost track of who was who and where they were and why.
Couldn’t put it down….
All the way to the very end, the plot was so well written
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the very beginning to end. It was suspenseful
and thought it would end very differently but was pleasantly surprised with the ending. An excellent read.
Many twists and turns has a good ending
Another great book by Rick Mofina
