THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR by Booklist • Kirkus Celebrate all the ways love makes us who we are with the romance that Entertainment Weekly calls “wise, wildly unique”–from the bestselling co-author of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist and Will Grayson, Will Grayson–about a teen who wakes up every morning in a different body, living a different life. … body, living a different life. Now a major motion picture!
Every day a different body. Every day a different life. Every day in love with the same girl.
There’s never any warning about where it will be or who it will be. A has made peace with that, even established guidelines by which to live: Never get too attached. Avoid being noticed. Do not interfere.
It’s all fine until the morning that A wakes up in the body of Justin and meets Justin’s girlfriend, Rhiannon. From that moment, the rules by which A has been living no longer apply. Because finally A has found someone he wants to be with—day in, day out, day after day.
With his new novel, David Levithan, bestselling co-author of Will Grayson, Will Grayson, and Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, has pushed himself to new creative heights. He has written a captivating story that will fascinate readers as they begin to comprehend the complexities of life and love in A’s world, as A and Rhiannon seek to discover if you can truly love someone who is destined to change every day.
“A story that is always alluring, oftentimes humorous and much like love itself— splendorous.” —Los Angeles Times

Fresh, unique, funny, and achingly honest, Levithan brilliantly explores the adolescent conundrum of not feeling like oneself, and not knowing where one belongs. I didn’t just read this book — I inhaled it.
I don’t even know why I picked up Every Day because it’s not what I typically read, but I didn’t move once I started it. Also, on a rainy 4th of July a few years ago, I picked up The Fault in Our Stars and didn’t put it down until the end.
Moral of the story: I don’t always read YA books, but when I do, I apparently finish them in one sitting.
The premise of Every Day is simple: A is a teen who inhabits a different body every day. He never knows who he will be the next day, he only knows he gets to spend just one day in the host body. He tries to keep a low profile and not disturb the person’s life more than he has to, all the while wanting more for his own existence. As simple as it …
If you are looking for a totally original read, then this book is for you! The closest thing I can compare it to is the Time Traveler’s Wife. I read this in one sitting. It was that addictive!
This was a truly original and interesting story. It astounds me how creative and imaginative that authors can be.
In this story, A, wakes up in a new body every single day. I can’t even imagine how tough to grow up this way. Being told from A’s perspective, we get to see how each person A inhabits feels, thinks, lives their life. While A …
I liked this a lot. It was unique and original with pretty good character building.
Loved the concept of this book and how the author tied all the stories together.
Thought-provoking in a different way of writing a day-to-day narrative.
This is one of my favorite books! I first watched the movie before I read the book and I have to admit that it was all on point.
This concept is…WOW. I adore every detail about this book. I can’t wait to read the next two books in the series. You will not be disappointed with this story.
Super creative and inventive.
Ehat a relief to read a book for pleasure.
Lately, I’ve been reading self-help books (my Books to Read in April challenge was ALL self-help) and while they’ve been good reads and have entertained me somewhat, I miss fiction. I love fiction above all else.
So anyway, this was probably the first time (at least that I can remember) that I read a …
This book has wonderful characters and is definitely a page turner. Housework went undone so I could keep reading it. I was so excited when I found there was another book!!
This is a story about “A” who switches bodies every day. He is never the same person twice. At midnight he leaves the body he is in and wakes up in a new one. He can access their memories and no one is ever aware he was there. He tries not to interfere or get too attached to anyone knowing he is only there for one day.
It has been this way …
A very interesting concept; an enjoyable read. We read this as our February 2018 read for our book club. It never ceases to amaze me how authors’ imaginations work and the stories they develop and write. This isn’t my first book by David Levithan and it won’t be my last either. I believe he has a fresh writing style; his stories are engaging; and …
I watched the movie first with my teenage daughter and then devoured the book. Delightful. Beautiful. Inhale in one setting.
Felt all the emotions with this book. Such a great read for all ages.
Not what I expected. An easy read.
I think that teens would like this book. It was imaginative and a unique premise.
A mesmerizing look at changing one’s identity daily
