“Fresh, confident, intelligent and amusing. Grab a cold drink, put your feet up, and enjoy yourself.” — Sue GraftonAfter ten years of cleaning up the dirt on Atlanta’s streets, former cop Callahan Garrity is trading in her badge for a broom and a staff of house cleaners. But she soon finds herself right back in the middle of a mystery when a client’s pretty, pious nineteen-year-old nanny is gone … nineteen-year-old nanny is gone … along with the jewelry, silver, and a few rather sensitive real estate documents.
Soon Callahan and her crew of eccentric cleaners are involved in a job messier than any they’ve ever encountered. Illicit love triangles, crooked business deals, long-distance scams— it’s going to require some industrial-strength sleuthing on Callahan’s part to solve this one.

Oh my goodness! If this first book is any indication of what this series will be like then I am hooked. The characters in this series are a hoot or maybe it’s just how Hillary Huber reads the characters. Hillary is fabulous at changing character voices. The storyline is entertaining. I am impressed at Callahan Garrity’s confidence and how she …
Everything MKA writes is an easy read, funny, entertaining. I can’t wait for whats b ext! Her characters are amazing@
I enjoy police procedural & detective novels. Yes, give me all the details of how you solved the crime! Especially when the lead is a semi-tough, big-hearted young woman–ex-sorority girl & ex-cop–with a smart-mouthed mama & many quirky friends. Fun & entertaining.
Ms. Andrews’ books are all a delight…I hope to read more!
I listened to the audiobook version and loved the Southern drawl some of the characters had. It is obvious that this series was written almost 30 years ago and I enjoy noting the little things that reminded me of those times.
This doesn’t affect the mystery in any way. It could have been written yesterday and I was hooked by this entry in the …
Great book
Great book!
I read it in one day. It’s funny, has a good plot, loved the characters – it isn’t a deep page-turner, but it’s well-written and I found enjoyable. A good break from some of the deep, dark mysteries I usually read. A winner…
EWasy to read and very entertaining!
The narrator is very good makes this book so pleasant to listen to and make you wanna listen to the end.
I thought it was silly, juvenile.
This book was very enjoyable. Likable characters. Justice was done, even if Atlanta’s finest were No help, in solving the crime. Heroine was feisty like able woman, who had guts, brains and loyalty! Also she got the bad guy, and found a new good guy!
You will laugh the entire time..,the characters ate defined by the eccentricity
This was a funny, fun book. Most of the bad language was unnecessary and eventually off putting. I will give this author another try, but try easing up on the cursing and f-ing. The book will appeal to a wider audience.
poorly written and conceived.
Lightly entertaining. Evenly paced, likeable characters, and humorous in spots.
You will find yourself chuckling at Callahan Garrity’s misadventures. But while there are some fun and crazy moments, there is some mystery and intrigue as well as some moments of fear. I enjoy Mary Kay Andrews and her fun characters. She never fails to have me laughing out loud…even sitting in a restaurant surrounded by other diners.
The …

I always enjoy her books. I like her style.
I love all of this author’s books. In particular, her settings and the characters she places throughout the story.
