Unforgettable characters, sizzling romance, and riveting suspense: These are the trademarks of beloved author Judith McNaught. Returning to the lavish Chicago setting of her popular novel Paradise, and revisiting some of that book’s characters as well, this story will captivate in inimitable Judith McNaught style. High atop a snow-covered hill, the stately old Wyatt mansion is perched like a … mansion is perched like a crown, its stone spires pointing upward, its stained glass windows glowing like colorful jewels. Such opulence means success and, surely, happiness. But on the eve of wealthy philanthropist Cecil Wyatt’s eightieth birthday, all the money in the world won’t bring back his missing grandson, William Wyatt. The only thing for certain: Foul play was involved.
The family, the police, the media–all have tried in vain to discover the young man’s fate. Now suspicion has turned shockingly toward William’s own half-brother, the rather distant and enigmatic Mitchell Wyatt.
Kate Donovan never dreamed that a chance romantic encounter on a tropical island paradise would tag her as a suspect in a high-society murder case. But after Kate tangles with the darkly charismatic Mitchell Wyatt, she finds herself cast in a shadow of guilt and mistrust. As the Chicago police tighten their net, it will take all of Kate’s ingenuity to clear her name. With her calm, cool wit, and the help of a man who may or may not be a dangerous catch, Kate vows to claim the life and love she desires.

I really enjoyed this book … But then I love any of Judith NcNaughts book. My favorite is Saving Grace. I could not put that book but down and it is just about like that with any of her books I pick up. I collect her books and I can say this book is right up there with all the others. Hope this helps you make a decision.
I love this author. Wish she would write more!
A lot of negative reviews on this book but I enjoyed it. I prefer Julie Garwood’s historical romance but she has some very good contemporary books as well. This is a good one!
I like this author but this was not my favorite. Still a decent read.
Excellent story. I recommend all books by this author.
Two people meet and fall in love on an island resort. They are torn apart and meet up three years later under difficult circumstances. They work out their misunderstandings and learn to deal with their difficulties. Loved the characters.

This is my favorite of all. I have read it twice and will probably read again at some time. I only wish she would write the follow up story.
A rewrite of an older book, one which I loved, with many changes to the original but I liked it just as much.
I loved this book I’ve read several times. One of my go to books when I need a good read.
I have been reading Judith McNaught’s books since I was a teenager and along with Nora Roberts, she is my favorite author of all time. I own all of her books in paperback and they were the only ones I kept when I downsized my book collection, but now I’m so glad they are on ebooks and I will surely be buying each one again. This is the most …
Loved this book. Have read it more than once. Really like this author. Have read many of her books.
