Twelve years since he promised her his heart, can their love stay as strong as ever… even without that ring?Environmental protection scientist Benny Turner has always managed to surprise his long-time love (and Valentine cynic) Sarah Drexel on Valentine’s Day. But when a toxic waste spill on tribal land requires him to travel out of state, for the first time since they’ve been together, they’ll … they’ve been together, they’ll have to spend Valentine’s Day apart.
But Benny has never been one to give up so easily. Determined to give Sarah a day she’ll never forget, he’ll move mountains to get back to her in time for Valentine’s Day… or even better, employ the help of friends and family to help him pull off his most ambitious plan yet.
But Benny’s not the only one with a surprise up his sleeve. Sarah has one, too.
This is a steamy Valentine’s Day novella featuring Dax’s sister Sarah Drexel and her longtime partner Benny Turner. It’s a slice-of-life story set in Taos, New Mexico where we first met Harlow and Dax in Everything She Ever Wanted. Featuring characters you’ve met in previous books in A Different Kind of Love series, this story is guaranteed with steamy feels and no cliffhanger!

I love Liz Durano’s books and this one is no exception! And, ooh, that cover! Recommend!!
Is anyone capable of resisting a well-written a steamy Valentine’s Day story? I certainly cannot, and Sarah and Benny’s romance in Liz Durano’s Every Breath (A Different Kind of Love) punches all the right buttons. This is a truly yummy and truly delightful novella. A prefect treat for those with love (and lust) in their heart. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The novella definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that it is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

Benny Turner and Sarah Drexel have been together for twelve years and have an eleven-year-old son, but they still live in separate houses, although their love is enormous.
When Valentine’s Day approaches and Benny needs to travel to work, this may be the first Valentine’s Day that they will spend apart.
But Benny will do anything to get to spend that date with Sarah, preparing a surprise she will never forget. But Benny barely knows that Sarah also has a great surprise prepared for him.
I loved the story and the characters and I highly recommend the reading.
Liz Durano is a favorite author of mine. She writes well with great storylines. This one wasn’t as deep BUT we finally get Benny and Sarah’s story. It can be read as a standalone, but is so much better with the series. I only wish it was longer with more details. They have a great, and HOT, story. Can’t wait for the next one! We still need Todd’s story!
Treat yourself! Your kindle will thank you.
What holds a couple together through everything? Is it determination? A marriage license? Family ties? Or genuine affection & respect? In this story, Ms. Durano writes about a couple that have been together for years but have never married. They don’t live together but have an eleven year old son that is the light of their lives. When a business trip means they will be apart for Valentines Day since they met, they both begin to reflect their lives & second guess some decisions. Will it pull them together or split them apart?
This is a lovely story regarding the strength of some bonds & relationships & how rare & lovely it is. The affection for each other comes through from the very beginning. I enjoyed the way the author made the relationship strong & caring but yet fragile in some ways. This was a wonderful story to read & enjoy.
Amazing hot read!
Benny and Sarah have been together for years. They have the kind of relationship that most of us dream of. But yet, they’ve never been married. Why? And will he ever put a ring on it?
This was a really interesting read. Sexy with characters that are easily to relate to. I haven’t read the first book in this series, so I didn’t know the other characters, but I still found this one easy to understand and get into. I found myself really invested in Sarah and Benny and their long relationship and their complicated pasts, especially Benny. Liz Durano always writes entertaining, lovable heroes and heroines, and Every Breath is no exception. I can’t wait for more from her.
Every Breath: Valentine’s Day Slice-of-Life Story is an awesome read.captivating, intriguing filled with love and passion, loved it! well written, lovely characters with plenty of steam, well done! cannot wait for the next one! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book!!! thanks!
Love and passion that can only be experienced by true soul mates, this novella took my breath away. Benny and Sarah are both hard-headed, independent people. Nevertheless their love has lasted twelve years despite the absence of a ring and Sarah’s refusal to marry him. Having read previous books revolving around this family, I was delighted to meet up with them once again and enjoy the conspiring love that brought together the perfect Valentine’s Day. The story is short and can be read in an evening. It is also a well-written standalone, revealing the pathos that comes from being separated from one’s love. There is a fair amount of explicit material in this book, and therefore not suitable for minors. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I received a complementary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review but I would have gladly paid full price. This author writes fantastic, unique and engaging stories with characters that are perfectly flawed and keep you hooked from the first page until the last. This one is no exception. I’ve been looking forward to these characters getting their story told since we were first introduced to them in the first book.
If you are a fan of contemporary romance and are looking for something not quite like every other reused story line… then this is a great book and author to add to your collection.
Happy Reading…enjoy!
Benny and Sarah has spent 12 years together. Even though the disagreements and separations the love always manages to shine through. Though they are completely committed to each other their are still somethings in their relationship that is need of change and there’s a never better time to do that than right now. Sarah and Benny compliment each other perfectly. It goes others in world where everyone is constantly breaking up or just pessimistic when it comes to love, that can last as you put in the work. Sarah and Benny is prove of that.
Let’s start with this cover – it is hot!!!
Who is the male model?!?!?
This is a quick story about Dax’s (from the book – Everything She Ever Wanted) sister, Sarah, and her longtime boyfriend/lover/baby daddy, Benny.
This story mostly takes place on Valentine’s Day. (Sweet theme) Benny can’t be with Sarah on Valentine’s Day due to being out of town for work. Sarah is a bit sad since they always spend this commercialized holiday together.
Does she tell Benny she misses him and wishes he could spend the day with her?
Does he cancel work to be with Sarah?
Do they miss spending the holiday together?
Maybe they spend the 15th together instead….
Read this story to find out how February 14th is spent. You won’t be disappointed.
My only ‘complaint’ – I wish this story was longer. I enjoyed these characters and would have loved more interactions between mother, father and son.
4.5 stars
Lovely and short Valentine’s Day romance about a couple whose relationship has remained fresh for twelve years and may be ready for stepping things up. There’s steam, yes, but the main arc of the story focuses on reliving some of the high points in their romance through a “scavenger hunt” that takes heroine Sarah down memory lane as she’s missing hero Benny who’s called away on a work assignment just before Valentine’s Day. The story had a real Southwest feel thanks to some Navajo expressions and Benny’s family background. And I really liked the way Benny opened up at the end about parts of his past that he had not shared even with his long-term lover/the mother of his child. A perfect addition to a very happy ending!
The story is a continuation of the stories of an ensemble of characters from Durano’s New Mexico-set series of romances, but it’s easily read as a standalone. This couple’s romance started way before the novella but you get the background years thanks to the highlights of Sarah and Benny’s story provided during the scavenger hunt.
A sweet, sexy story
The very first Liz Durano book I ever read was Everything She Ever Wanted , which featured Sarah and Benny and their unusual relationship. At the time I wondered why this couple were content to live such a fractured life, and whether they were all that close or sticking it out for the sake of their son, Dyami.
Well a couple of years later and I now know the answer to those questions. Sarah and Benny have the sort of love we all aspire too, though even for them it has never been easy. The passion and feeling between them was excellently portrayed. Not only was I was totally drawn into this story but I was massively wanting them to get their perfect HEA.
Despite this being a novella, I felt we really got to know both Benny and Sarah really well. This was helped by the plot being pretty focused on them and a certain event. We do get to briefly meet other characters, who add interest and depth to the story. Whilst this can be read as a stand alone, I do think it would be enhanced by reading at least Everything She Ever Wanted . This will give you a lot more background to the side characters and the whole setting of the books. Plus it’s a really good read too.
This is a book I’m very happy to recommend to those who like a well written, steamy romance.
This is a really good, quick read full of all your favorite characters. It proves that every relationship is different and as long as there is love and it works for everyone involved then that is all that matters.
Thank you so much for letting us know more about Sarah & Benny! They are such a strong couple & I’m so glad to have their back story & know their future. What a sweet Valentine tie in too!
Every Breath…gosh i loved it. I am glad to finally unfold the mystery of why these two weren’t married. I was a little confused about Benny and Sarah’s relationship in Everything She Ever Wanted. And yes I totally agree with the concept… when you met him, you’ll know he’s the one and nothing can break you apart!
I am happy to meet Alma again too.
Now, I am planning to re read the entire series again
I loved reading Sarah and Benny’s story. We first met them in Dax’s book and they grabbed my attention then. This story is full of heart, family, passion, a bit of mystery, and Love.
