Welcome to Evermore Academy where the magic is dark, the immortals are beautiful, and being human SUCKS.After spending my entire life avoiding the creatures that murdered my parents, one stupid mistake binds me to them for four years. My penance? Become a human shadow at the infamous Evermore Academy, finishing school for the Seelie and Unseelie Fae courts. All I want is to keep a low profile, … want is to keep a low profile, but day one, I make an enemy of the most powerful Fae in the academy.
The Winter Prince is arrogant, cruel, and apparently also my Fae keeper. Meaning I’m in for months of torture.
But it only gets worse. Something dark and terrible looms over the academy. Humans are dying, ancient vendettas are resurfacing, and the courts are more bloodthirsty than ever.
What can one mortal girl do in a world full of gorgeous monsters?
Fight back with everything I have—and try not to fall in love in the process.

Great world-building, great characters, and a love story full of challenges to overcome. This is a must read! Summer is caught while trying to steal food to feed her starving family in a devastated land after the Fae’s magic infects the human world. She escapes into the Fae world only to end up forced to attend Evermore Academy as a sort of servant to the creatures she holds responsible for the death of her parents. She’s determined not to let the Elite Six-especially the Winter Prince-break her but she’ll need more than a sharp tongue to make it out of this school alive and with her heart in tact.
I don’t often read books with a character that just grabs me right away–but this one totally did. The books starts with a neat intro–the character is trying to STEAL food. It’s sort of John Valjohn (spelling!? LOL) meets like, Holly Black. The world is our world, and also not. The Fae have invaded.
One thing I actually liked is that this feels like a YA book written for adults. (And I’m an adult who likes YA, so there ya go!) It has an older character, who is stuffed into a school full of OLD fae, who, to their people, are young and have a lot to learn. And it starts with a character who has a lot to learn, about herself and the world, and a lot of room to grow, but she’s still pretty spicy as is.
I meant to read a few chapters and ended up staying up all night. I feel like that’s enough said… But I also really liked the love interest who finally developed and the different sides you see to the side characters. 🙂
I loved everything about this book. The world. The characters. The words. All of it! A must-read for romantic fantasy fans!
I really liked this book.
It has all the ingredients that I love in a fae romance book, fated mates, enemies to lovers, magic, action, misunderstandings, hot male Heroes with a bit of darnkness and brave h that fight for what they want.
There’re also great secondary characters like Mack or dragon boy and even Eclipsa. It’s a bit like a Howarts for grown up humans in a Fae world.
I’m giving it 4 starts instead of five because the main heroine is a bit unbearable for me. She has a big mouth and sometime she should think twice before speaking. Also the ending is a bit hurried, lot of things happening in a very short amount of time.
I’ll be glad to read book 2 though.
Absolutely loved this book. I devoured it. Moved on to book two. Can’t wait for book three! This book made me an Audrey Grey fan!!!!
This is the first book that I have read of Audrey Grey, and I loved it. Her ability description of the Evermore world took me straight into the characters world. I love Summer and the Winter Prince. Their chemistry is off the charts, and there is a constant will they or won’t they.
Summer has some fae powers in her, but the question is what? Who is she exactly. She isn’t exactly a human, but not fully fae. She is trying to find her way in a whole new world that she has always told to stay away from.
Will she find out her powers? Will she get together with the prince? Will she last at Evermore academy? Read the book to find out!!!
I am a Sarah J Maas fan and this reminded me of her series. I am addicted and can’t wait to read more. I love Summer’s personality and self awareness. I am able to see she is growing as a character and am excited to see how this continues.
You think you know but then you don’t. This book!!!!
A Fae School Where Humans Are Taught How To Protect Them!
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
Winter (Evermore Academy #1)
This was a really enjoyable read. I liked the world build & characters as well as the storyline! Summer is funny & feisty, strong willed & caring! The Prince comes across as cold but it’s clear he’s hiding something big! Mack & Eclipsa are fantastic characters, loyal and fierce! The bad guys/girls are suitably vile, the types you’d wish nothing but harm to.
I’m looking forward to reading book #2!!

Received an ARC from the author.
This is A Court of Thorns and Roses meets Vampire Academy, with an itty bit of The Selection mixed into it. I have to say though, that this book didn’t feel like a copy of any of those, but rather one that would fit in with them. A few typical tropes were used, but I wasn’t annoyed by them and they were all used in an unexpected and creative way.
I wasn’t sure what I would be getting into with this book, but I LOVED it. Due to Thanksgiving weekend, I was taken away from it for hours yesterday, and it was all that was on my mind. Between the characters, the story, and the genre, this one just hit the nail on the head for me and I will put it in my top 10 of 2019.
It’s a slow build bully romance. The romance build-up was fantastic. There was no rush, pacing was lovely, and the level of angst was supreme. While he’s being mean to her, he’s being a doll, and you know right away that there’s some grander explanation, which he does give later on.
The Prince is a great character. Funny, sarcastic, mean, but loveable. He’s hot and basically what you’d want in the alpha male character. Protective, strong, and fierce. Summer is a fairly strong character I’d say. She can hold her own when needing to, and I didn’t find her personality unbelievable or annoying. Which is sadly often the case in books like these.
The author also does a great job at keeping the mystery of her characters locked up until the end. Some hints are dropped, but only after 50% in. I did guess at a few things, regarding mates and souls, but it still rolled out in such a way that I couldn’t be 100% positive about my suspicions.
I did find the ending a bit sudden. He’s telling her truths, and then it just ends. I wasn’t completely satisfied here, but I do know it’s book 1 of 4 so I’ll just hold out for the next. I can’t wait for more as we unlock more of Summer’s past. I can’t believe I need to wait until June 2020. I will not survive. Since this book was watching the Fae Prince progress and open up, I look forward to the romantic side of him in the next one.
I just fell in love with this book. It’s a great addition to the fantasy genre. Fresh without being too out there and still giving you the feeling you want to have when picking up a YA Fantasy/Paranormal. I think I’ll have to purchase as a paperback and start an Audrey Grey collection…
Even better then it looked! I’m a fan of Grey’s books and while the cover and blurb grabbed my attention, they didn’t do this story justice. I loved the UF/fantasy world crossover, the darker themes, and all the adventure associated with the trials, exams, and conflicts. I loved Summer’s tough as nails determination and strength as an MC and Ruby’s antics kept me cracking up. Grey combines complex characters with depth of storyline to create a gem that sucks you into the pages. A great start to this series and one I’m excited to continue.
A fun, steamy read with a fantastic twist at the end. The wonderful characters really make it shine.
This story is as beautiful as its cover! Couldn’t stop listening to this one! and Moyen totally sold the story. Thanks ladies for a fantastic ride. Will definitely be back in the Spring!
I absolutely loved everything about this world!!
The world building was fantastic and I was absolutely enthralled with the Fae world and everything to do with Summer!!
This Academy book at least for me, was not like the other typical academy books. It was a nice thing to see as well. This book is intended for upper YA audience and that may be why but I truly appreciated. I listened to the audiobook and I highly recommend picking this book up. Vanessa does a fabulous job narrating the book and she truly is a fabulous choice for the MC, Summer.
I’ve always been a fan of Audrey and her writing and this is no different. I’m in awe of her story telling, her world building and her flawless character conversations that make you wanna hug and punch them at the same time. Truly a great read for any YA fantasy fan.
I picked up this book on a whim looking through books to read on Kindle Unlimited on Amazon. I love books about Fae, and Audrey is a new to me author.
I am so happy that I did. Have you ever read a book that was so good that when you had to put it down, you actually didn’t want to pick it back up because then it would end to soon? Yep that’s what this book was like.
It has been quite a long time that a fantasy book has gripped me so much. I never wanted it to end.
I have been obsessed with all of the Academy books recently, I can’t get enough of them and Evermore Academy did not disappoint. It went above and beyond, actually.
Summer is a human living in the tainted lands in Texas after the Fae world has kind of exploded into hers. One mistake gets her sent to Evermore Academy to serve out four years for her punishment.
This book made me so nostalgic. It really took me back to my early days of reading when I was obsessed with anything paranormal, fae, or fantasy.
I loved Summer’s character. She’s so sarcastic sassy and never knows when she should shut her mouth, which gets her into lots of trouble as you can imagine.
And of course, the Winter Prince. We can’t forget him. I loved the cruel Winter Prince and I can’t wait to see more of both him and Summer in the future books. But honestly this book wouldn’t be nearly as good without all of the friends. Mack is amazing and Ruby, Summers sprite, had me cracking up so many times.
This is just one of those awesome books that you can dive into and completely lose track of reality and just be in the story. It was so amazing. I am so looking forward to the next book. I don’t know how I’m going to survive until June of next year!
I would 100% recommend this book if you’re looking for your next can’t put down read.
I love academy reads and this is one of the best that I have read! Hooking me from the very first chapter this has an exciting and explosive storyline in a fabulous world designed by this author! Throw in intriguing And fabulous characters , magic, Fae and fated mates and you have one heck of a story that you will not want to end. Bring on book 2 quickly please!!
I could NOT put this book down! From the first page I was drawn into another world. First is a world after the Fae war changed everything forever and then the world of Evermore Academy. I loved the fish out of water aspect of Summer immersed in the world of the Fae. I also loved the sexual tension between Summer and the Winter Prince. I cannot wait for book 2!
This is a very impressive, detailed and glamorous fairy tale. It’s set is such a magical world with an amazing mixture of human, fae and mythological creatures. There’s action, story telling a hint of romance and a big, bold new world to explore. I very much enjoyed getting lost and can’t wait for the next story. I did think parts dragged on with very little action or meaning. Also it took me almost 15% in before I started caring. 4.25 stars.
I can not express in adequate words haw absolutely fantastic these characters and this world is that the author created!
Magic, fae, humans, other worldly creatures, and a potential love story that rivals romeo and juliet. You will even root for the characters you so wanna hate… but can’t (except for Inara, pure evil). This is probably the best book I’ve read all year. It’s got me all in my feels.
