Meet June, short for Juniper, the anonymously rich girl next door who finds herself fulfilling her passion of caring for homeless animals by volunteering her time at the local animal shelter.Unlucky in love, June sets her sights on finding the one, the perfect canine companion, that is, meant just for her. Things get complicated though, as Graham, the interesting man who delivers the enormous … enormous Great Dane to the doorstep of the shelter, not only threatens to come between June and the dog, but messes with her mind and heart as well.
Maxine, the Great Dane, remains a mystery, appearing out of thin air, as if destined to try to bring Graham and June together. The question is, will their relationship survive or are the obstacles set before them too much to overcome?

This has to be one of the sweetest stories ever! It caught me totally off guard because when I think of this authors books I immediately get scared lol but this one..oh my gosh I loved it and read it in one sitting. I’ve only read the books of hers that mess with your mind so this was a welcome change and now I just want to go see what else is available and read them all.
I want a Max/Maxine she was my favorite character in this whole book and I love that I was left guessing with her in the end. June had it rough growing up, some would think she had it made but it was the complete opposite and I felt all the feels reading her story. She came out the other side though a strong force that didn’t trust easily, if at all. This made life rough for Graham as his immediate attraction to her had him wanting to break down all those walls she had put up.
I loved the friendship bond between Monica and June, even if it still took a while for June to open up and trust her.
I love how this story was written, it had me hooked from the start and is one of those kinds of books you just want to curl up on the couch with coffee, a warm blanket and no distractions. This had it all…It had me super angry at times, super sad, and there were times I laughed at the banter between June and Graham. This was unique and I loved the message this book portrays.
Totally awesome read…A definite one click author for me.
This story is a little different for this author and I enjoyed it from start to finish. She still brings the romance but in this story she also brings in the cute animals to help her. It is a well written story about finding love where you least expect it. The characters including the animals make the story engaging and connectable. June has a passion for helping animals but love is not her strong suit until Carter. Will one Great Dane bring two people together? I highly recommend this book.
