Ever Told by Benjamin Bremasi is a crime mystery thriller. The plot is exciting and creates a thrilling environment. But, the climax was flat. Some of the events were unnecessarily included which disrupted the flow of story. Especially, Allen’s character was totally not needed.
Also, a child is being abused and he talks about the situation with his uncle. And, together they decide to commit a murder. I was really not able to digest this fact. And, there were many unanswered questions left by the author. I would like to give the book 3 stars.
A suspenseful and thrilling read. Probably because i was reading it at night. I was intrigued from the start.
Easy to understand as the story went back and forth between the past and the present, from different POVs.
Can’t wait for the author’s next book.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
An engaging story that is full of suspense and twists and turns that keep you reading because once you get into the book, it’s hard to put down! A locked-room mystery that feels like it was taken from the game of clue, involving family members and a whodunit, with lots of unanswered questions – because how on earth did the killer manage the murder and who may have helped? This family clearly has an awful history with each other and it’s fun to watch the dynamics as the mystery develops then unfolds. Completely enjoyable and I recommend it for any murder mystery lover. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksirens and am providing my honest review. I look forward to reading more by this author.
A murder mystery that grips you from the get go, Ever Told grabs on tight and doesn’t let go. Jumping from the day of the murders to the past and future, and with multiple characters at play, this mystery can get a tad confusing at the beginning, but once you get your bearings it becomes more clear. Just when you think you know who did it, another answer comes to light and makes you second guess, and the truth completely blew me away. I had an inkling about who performed the murders, but figured there was no way I could be right, but how the author was able to spin it left me saying wow over and over. I was actually half right but even partially knowing I was still left stunned at the outcome.
For a debut novel, this book blew me away. Well written, with the perfect tempo and length, this book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, and I actually ended up reading it in its entirety in one afternoon. The world building and characterization was authentic and true to life, making the scenario all the more sinister.
Incredible thriller, and a promising start to a writing career for Benjamin Bremasi. He has an instant fan with me and I am anxious to read his next book!

A well done debut from Benjamin Bremasi. Ever Told was a short, fast read that held my attention from start to finish. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, another twist was thrown. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
I found myself hooked from the first page of this story, and drawn into the tale of who and how! I thought the writing was great, and loved the characters, especially the bond between Caiden and Jill. I really liked how the story skipped back and forth from real time, to before the crime. I’m a sucker for a mystery that I’m never 100% certain on the who done it, and this story definitely delivered that for me.
The book is a gripping psychological thriller which reveals a new twist page after page and layer by layer. So many things seem impossible and just don’t add up, and this is what takes the book to an entirely new level of thrill.
If you like dark, twisted suspense as much as I do, you can’t go wrong with this book!
