Two couples torn apart–one by war between countries, one by war within. In this moving sequel to Even Now, Emily Anderson, now twenty, is attending college on a soccer scholarship when she meets the man who changes everything for her: Army reservist Justin Baker. Their tender relationship, founded on a mutual faith in God and nurtured by their trust and love for each other, proves to be a … trust and love for each other, proves to be a shining inspiration to everyone they know, especially Emily’s reunited birth parents, Lauren Gibbs and Shane Galanter.
Lauren and Shane still struggle to move past their opposing beliefs about war, politics, and faith. Shane believes it’s possible but Lauren doesn’t. So she says a painful good-bye to her long-ago love and returns to her job as a war correspondent in Afghanistan.
Both hearts are shattered, and Lauren and Shane believe that this time their relationship has truly ended forever. Then tragedy sends shock waves through all their lives. Can Lauren and Shane set aside their opposing views so that love–God’s love–might win, no matter how great the odds?

Love this author. Have read almost all her books. Really good. Heart warming and faith filled.
Loved it!
This is the second book in a two book series. This series has been my ALL TIME favorite series that I’ve read! It was so realistic, the sanrio is one that could have played out in real life. I’d like to believe that it really has. Karen Kingsbury, has always been a great writer. Many of her books touch my heart, this series: “Even Now” and “Ever After” are great reads!
There has never been a book that made me cry so much. Amazing that it would come along to read it right when we have lost so many troops in Afghanistan. This book touched my heart.
I loved the book and the characters. Was a fast read! Didn’t want to put it down. Love all her books!
Very good read but sad!
In light of what is happening in Afghanistan today, this story was very relevant and enlightening to tragedy that is unfolding in that region. It is so important for everyone to question their beliefs and where they come from. Also it says some about how much we should trust, or not trust, journalism. That is the unfortunate truth.
One of the best books I’ve read recently. The characters are so real you feel like you know them.
I really enjoy Karen Kingsbury Books. They have unexpected twists to the stories.
I also enjoy the characters in her books. They are believable.
A touching story about the effects of war and how wonderful God is when we allow Him to work in our lives. Have a box of tissue nearby.
Too sad
All of Karen Kingsbury books are great reads. They inspire me to be a better person, and they are realistic with everyday people with everyday challenges.
Another gotta read each book in the series. Waiting to purchase the rest of them.
Wonderful! She can’t write them fast enough to satisfy me.
I’ll never stop loving Karen Kingsbury books. Great read and very encouraging

I thoroughly enjoyed this book on many levels!
I have not read one book by Karen Kingsbury that I didn’t absolutely like so much. I am finding out that there are few, if any that I haven;t read of hers.
