Jeff Powell is in over his head.He has a deadline to meet, an agent to satisfy, a barista to impress, and now, to top it all off, he’s stuck in the world of his bestselling fantasy series.A world, it turns out, that doesn’t even like him. Instead of deadlines, he’s got dragons.Instead of an impatient agent, he’s got characters who hate him.The girl of his dreams? Well, at least that’s one less … his dreams? Well, at least that’s one less thing to worry about if he can’t find his way home.
He thought he knew his story inside and out, but as a growing evil closes in on the world he created, he’ll learn just how deadly a fantasy can be.

What a unique story line. To bring the author of the story into his own book. The biggest question being is it his world? Or is he seeing glimpses into their world. To be honest I am not sure which way it is by the time I got to the end of this book.
But I loved the story. I did not want to stop reading. I kept going…one more …
Very good book. If you ever wondered what it might be like to be tossed into a fantasy world,it gives you a picture of what that might be like. Enjoyed it very much.
Interesting
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a new twist on plots, where an author actually finds himself living within the plot of his complicated fantasy series. It turns out that he doesn’t know his characters as well as he thought he did! He hasn’t thought out the complications that arise with some of the actions he puts in the book so that it will …
Enjoyed this series. Characters grew in depth and complexity through the series.
Cool concept! Definitely enjoyed reading this book!
This was a fairly unique story with some lovable characters. The whole “transported into his own story thing” almost seems cliche at first glance, but it was very well done. For anyone that enjoys reading D&D campaign type stories this is a great series to start.
How unique! Loved this book and the characters! Wasn’t sure what was going on at first, but it didn’t take long to be wrapped up in it. Couldn’t put it down!
I found it rather boring and lost interest
Interesting plot twist, but the narrative drags. I finally gave up about halfway through.
Absolutely count NOT get into this book. Got about 25% in and just gave up on it. Since I ALMOST NEVER quit reading a book part way through that should be an indication of how terrible this volume is. The characters are cardboard cutouts with no depth, there’s no descriptions to acclimate you to the environment and texture of the scenes, and I …
An alright read
idiotic
This was a clever idea for a story and it wasn’t bad but I think it should have been much shorter. Weeks would go by in the story with nothing much happening and I finally started skimming over a lot of it till something interesting happened again. I didn’t find the characters or their actions/reactions very believable, either. I think I now …
Not bad. Plays with some meta-fictional concetes, an author entering his own written work, only to get hit with unexpected twists and gain a new perspective. An okay read; it’s been done before and better, but enjoyable if you’re into that sort of thing.
Readable and the concept is good but character development is flawed and basically unrealistic.
entertaining and enjoyable
I enjoyed this book and the entire series. The unusual premise of the book (an author being caught in the world on one of his novels) hooked me from the start. The lead character was likeable and realistic.
An author I’ve never heard of, gave it a try, I purchased the series! Great read!
