OMG! This my friend is definitely a must read 2019!
This second book by Nicole Fiorina and second in the series was just WOW!OMG! unbelievable gripping and hellish emotional. I don’t even know how to describe my emotional condition right now.
This book wrecked me It was a torture to read some of the chapters . My fingernails are gone thanks to the continuous breath-holding suspense and honestly?
I loved every second of this heartache and wouldn’t change a thing about it
Mia’s and Ollie’s story is so never-ending dramatic and incredible beautiful at the same time. Their unique love story is like nothing that I read before. This book leaves you breathless and emotional spent, but with a enormous need for more.
I’m really in love with the characters and not only with Mia and Ollie, through they will always stay my favorite soulmates couple, but also with Ethan and Jake. I know with the abrupt and surprising ending and unknown future because of the epic cliffhanger , someone will think that Ethan is a loose cannon, but hey! no one is perfect
After the first book I was curious if the second book would be as good as the first and you know what? I think it was even better
So much drama and heartbreak in so short time is inhuman, but that’s what this book is about. Take mental breakdowns and mental disorders mixed with psychopathic behavior and you have a small glimpse of the big story. I can’t give you more details, because I don’t want to spoil this dark book for you, but trust me when I say it is a must read. I love drama and heartbreak in my books, but this series brings it to the extremes limits of emotions.
If you haven’t read the first book “Stay With Me”, you’ve still time utill October 29th. You’ve to read the first book before you start this one!
I highly recommend to read it blind like I did. If you love drama and more drama without HEA (this time I’m sure there’ll be a HEA in the 3rd book), this is a story for you.
This book shredded me apart then Ollie came along and made it all better for me. The emotions are so so real and the author makes you feel the characters hurt, pain, joy, love, and so on. We are starting where book one ended and poor Mia is struggling to hold herself together and she has some support in a new friend, but nothing is the same without Ollie by her side. We learn how she has been coping and that her feelings for Ollie are real and deep. When Ollie does come back, he is not the same Ollie we know or Mia knows so she tries to bring her Ollie back. These two go through so much pain just to find their happily ever after, you can’t help but pull for them and wish them the best. It was an emotional roller coaster of a read and the twists and turns you don’t see coming blew my mind. This author knows how to take you to the edge dangle a happy ending in front of you then push you over the cliff. I think the first book was amazing, but book two is beautifully done and I just know book three will blow us all away.
Wow, “sigh” this book took me a min. To sift through. The story had so many emotional twists and turns I was not ready for. I loved this book and can’t wait to read some more from Ollie and Mia. I’m really torn up about it. Wow. This book will definitely have me in a deep thoughtful process for days to come.
Book 2 definitely destroyed me lol
It’s clear that Nicole Fiorina has a way of writing stories that make your heart beat faster than you ever imagine before. She is not afraid to give you ALL THE FEELS.
This book wrecked me till the point where BIG FAT tears were running down my cheeks without stop and I honestly couldn’t sleep afterwards.
By the end, I felt devastated, sad, anxious and extremely emotional. But mostly, I was astonished by the talent of this author. It still amazes me to know this is just the second book of this author. And let me tell you something, she proudly did all this without following the rules.
If you want to give a defined trope to this story. Try again!!!
This book has it all.
Do you want suspense? You will get it.
Do you want romance? You, without a doubt will get it.
Do you want a pinch of psychological thriller? YOU WILL F*CKING GET IT.
“You’re desperate, I know, but his touch is never going to fix it. You’re empty, I know, but he can never fill the place I once did. I warned you, my love, but you’re stubborn and never listen.” – Oliver Masters.
To talk about Ollie is simple and utterly POETIC. That’s the best way to describe the amazing character Nicola created. Watching him overcome his demons was FANTASTIC. Not only he fought for his sanity but also for his greatest love; Mia.
The character development was extraordinary. Each one of them has something important to add to the story. You can’t stop thinking they are there for a reason. And if you keep reading, you surely going to find out why.
“No matter how angry I was with him, my body wasn’t” –Mia.
Mia is a strong and persistent woman. Even finding a purpose in life, she never stopped evolving. Never stopped believing she was capable of changing the course of her life even knowing the consequences would be devastating for her already broken heart.
“Give me a love so intoxicating, I never suffer a hangover” – Oliver Masters.
I can take all day explaining how this book can change your life but this is something you HAVE to experience.
This is a MASTER PIECE. There is not other way to explain how BEAUTIFUL this story is. I just can’t get enough of Nicola’s writing and how delicate and profound this story is.
No matter how much it hurts to read it, you don’t see yourself EVER STOPPING. You just keep craving more and more of Ollie and Mia’s story.
Be ready for the plot twist of your life because the journey has just begun.
I loved it so much I wish it were 1000 pages, so I could read it for a week.
Better than book 1 and that was a great book. I love the struggle, the emotions, the romance, and the heartbreak. This sequel has every bit as much feeling and strife as the first book, but in this one, Nicole Fiorina definitely brought the heat index up to the highest levels. I give this book five flames for sweltering scenes between Mia and Ollie .
At the end of the last book Ollies depraved brother Oscar had orchestrated a crime against Mia with Ollie watching but drugged so he couldn’t do anything. Mia barely escaped but it came out that she has been with Oscar when she first arrived at Dolar. Ollie couldn’t handle the though of Mia with his brother so he went back on his Medication. While on the meds he forgot about Mia and the deep connection they shared.
Dean Lynch sent Ollie away and Oscar was sent to prison for 30 years. Ollie was in jail for seven months until they could determine that he wasn’t involved with the prostitution ring Oscar was running, he is now back at Dolar and his love for Mia is back with a vengeance. Ollie is able to see Mia and confirm that she still has feelings for him, but he starts to go into withdrawals from his medication and has to go back on it. Mia and Ollie both know that will bring forth the mean and emotionless Ollie so Mia makes him agree to stay away from her for the year while he is medicated.
While Ollie was away, Mia leaned on the new security guard who had helped her get through some of her issues because of what Oscar pit her through. Mia leans on Ethan more as Ollie is medicated. It is heartbreaking to see them this way because you know how much they love each other. They are both hurting but underneath it all you know that deep in their minds they are each other’s end game.
The romance between these two is both inspiring and emotional and they sometimes can’t fight their feelings and that is when things really heat up. I ate up every scene where Ollie and Mia were together. The supporting characters were also awesome in this book. Zeke played a big role, he is the mute boy who was Ollies friend and who Mia would sit and talk to in the cafeteria. Jake was there also, he was Mia’s friend who was sent to Dolar by his father for being homosexual. Ethan the security guard was terrific as was the relationship between him and Mia. I won’t give out any spoilers or give away the main storylines, but I will say that the entire book was very well written and truly spectacular, including the ending. I can’t wait to read more.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“ . .”
It’s so hard to write an in depth review without spoiling because this is a continuing series with each book ending in some pretty big/epic cliff hangers – thankfully I don’t have to wait for the next book (haha) But this won’t be a big huge review because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Just know that this book broke my heart just as much as the first one; if not, a tiny bit more.
I love this story, these characters – Oliver Masters owns my heart.
Ollie struggles to get himself back in this book – and it’s Mia’s turn to help get him there.
There is so much heart break in ’ but where there is heart break there is so much love.
“ . , .”
So many revelations and the biggest cliff hanger of life is in this book and I’m eager to see where this story goes in the last.
If I had to sum it up with one quote from inside it would be this one;
“… , ‘ , , .”
I’m telling you, you need this story in your life.
Even When I’m Gone is a second chance romance between Ollie and Mia. Even When I’m Gone begins where Stay With Me ends with Ollie in solitary confinement. Mia visited Ollie once in solitary to show her dedication to their love reminding him that while gone he will always remain in her heart.
Mia is back at Dolor University with one year to complete. The relationship with Ollie will be faced with many new obstacles. Mia finds herself Torn between two worlds—life with Ollie, and life after him.
Nicole gifts the reader with her artistic imagination while still allowing the readers the gift to interpret the story and characters in their own individual way. She allows for the readers mind to explore possibilities without boxing ideas in. Nicole brought in a few new characters while also removing some from the prior book.
Along with this being a second chance romance it also has elements of love/hate. With Ollie losing control of his mind and body Mia watches the guy she fell in love with change before her eyes. There an edge of love triangle and cheating. While Ollie’s emotions collide back and forth Mia continues to strengthen her mind by focusing on helping others. There’s still that element of a push n’ pull with unconditional love between them.
Nicole challenged herself by pushing Mia and Ollie away. It allowed her to stretch her imagination by focusing on developing other aspects of the story without overcrowding it with other characters. Nicole graced us readers with Ollie’s point of view. My aching heart loves a dual point of view story.
Nicole will test your moral boundaries with these imperfect characters. Testing the love between them has never been so complicated.
The British slang is great: arse, fag, chap, bloke, wankers, bollocks, knob, cock-up, Fanny, and cows. A few words seem insulting in the American English dictionary, but not when used in the UK. I had a good laugh just with the use of these words.
Ollie’s character had wisdom while Mia’s character had talent. Together they blended well together providing a solid foundation of comfort and trust.
Even When I’m Gone had a different feel to it. With the stalker threatening Mia’s life the story had elements of danger and suspense along with a psychological twist. It was utter brilliance. Nicole gave me chills on numerous occasions delivering her passionate words.
This book was just as good as the first book if not better. Usually the second book in a series runs flat but not in this case. The flow between book 1 and book 2 was flawless with the same amount of passion and emotion as the first. Nicole was consistent in her artistic performance creating magical scenes and characters bringing to life this story of unconditional love. It was therapeutic reading how each of these reformed characters healed the broken pieces from within. As past memories disease the mind of these characters plans formulate to seek out vengeance.
I’ve only just finished book 2 and I already have a book hangover. I’m so not ready to let go of these characters or Nicole’s writing for that matter. I’m blown away by her poetic beauty of how she formulates words into true emotional intensity. Nicole’s words when combined together illustrate a visual picture of passion and desire so strong that the reader could feel these characters pain and pleasure. Every part of this book worked. The characters, the storyline, and the transitions worked together like a well oiled machine. There was never a dull moment only relevant moments where each character impacted the lives of each other. Not one character overcrowded the storyline. Each supporting cast of characters enhanced the growth between Mia and Ollie. There love gave hope to others that the curse could be broken, all with trust.
After reading Stay with me I immediately had to jump into this one after that ending. It’s Ollies turn to clash with his demons. After being consumed by them for months he has returned to find Mia struggling to keep her promise to stay with him even when he’s gone. I was expecting alot more brutal actions from Ollie but it was more indifference than anything. Normally that would annoy me but it suited Ollie so well.
Mia’s growth from book one to now is amazing and while they both are constantly making terrible decisions and screwing things up it was real and raw. That ending though whew I loved it I was all in my dm’s throwing around my theories and thank goodness I was wrong with what I thought was going to happen. This one definitely keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat.
Someone send me the name of an excellent therapist, ASAP.
Fiorina nailed it AGAIN, with EWIG, the 2nd of the SWM series.
I absolutely gushed about the first book, and while I’d love to contain myself, I find that I’m unable to do so, and will be gushing in this review as well.
Haunting. Heartbreaking. Anxiety Inducing. Riveting. Poignant.
We are consistently being dropped into the throes of the mental illness that each of the characters is experiencing, and it is all of these things at once.
“’ ’ .”
I have NEVER been rocked by characters the way that Mia and Oliver get to me. They consistently prove that they have what it takes to find each other in their respective darknesses. And for every single high and low, happy and sad, heartbreaking and triumphant moment in their journey, they grip me by the tatters of my heart and drag me along with them.
“ , . .”
Not only does Fiorina give us a beautiful novel, but each time, she touches us with the poetic glimpses of Oliver’s soul, and really, I applaud her giving us so much more than just the basics.
Recommendation: I WILL ALWAYS ADVISE YOU TO TAKE THE CHANCE ON THIS AUTHOR. DIVE IN, AND LET HER SET YOUR SOUL ON FIRE.
Nicole Fiorina is a freaking genius!!! This book was phenomenal. I don’t even think phenomenal is a good enough word for this book. My emotions are still all over the place! This book broke my heart so many times just to mend it back and break it all over again. This book shattered me. And I loved every minute of it!!
Have you ever finished a book that has left you in the state of not being able to formulate words or thoughts? That is pretty much me right now. Mia and Ollie are everything! I love these characters like they are my own. Regardless of the troubles that Mia and Ollie have been facing, their love for each other is so strong that it surpasses it all and always brings them back to where they belong. The ending of the story was definitely not one that I saw coming and I love that the author totally blindsided us with that. I love Nicole Fiornia’s way with words, she is able to make you feel the emotions of her characters as if they were your own. I think that is an incredible and rare talent for a writer to have. I am looking forward to reading the last book Now Open Your Eyes.
Even When I’m Gone by Nicole Fiorina is an absolutely amazing Reformatory College Romance. This is the second d book in the Stay With Me Series and she knocked it out of the park. Nicole does an amazing job pulling you into the story. This story took me on an emotional roller coaster that I didn’t want to get off. I cannot wait to get my hands on the last book in the series Now Open Your Eyes that will be released on February 9, 2020.
After the events of Book one and where Stay with Me ended, I was glad I finally had time to sit and read Even When I’m Gone. The book picks up 6 months after the events but we do find out what has been happening to both Mia and Ollie in this time. I won’t go into too much detail for my review because A. A LOT of stuff goes down in this book and B. I don’t want to post spoilers.
So as we know from the end of Stay with Me Mia has embraced her emotions and Ollie has turned his off, he became this person who is cold, indifferent and uncaring. For the first section of Even when I’m Gone this stays pretty much the same. As much as you want the happy Mia and Ollie back as they are clearly two parts of a whole, I live for the angst. Ollie’s darker persona made me feel, it made me want to keep reading, I was annoyed and disappointed with his actions; but that means the Author is doing a great job of developing her story and her characters!
I loved the tumultuous journey this books takes us on with separate story lines running for Mia and Ollie as well as their over arching relationship. Even When I’m Gone added some suspense into the mix with the addition of the prankster targeting Mia, with some secrets being revealed, only to raise more questions in their place. I honestly couldn’t believe Nicole threw so much drama into this book, yet somehow it worked! Just when you are lulled into a safe sense of comfort, BAM! something else happens. For me it all fit and it worked well for the book but their were a few elements that didn’t work and this is the reason it wasn’t a 5 star read.
For me personally the book is long winded, there are many scenes that I felt weren’t needed, they didn’t add anything to the story and sometimes felt repetitive. Moments in the dining hall, it felt a little samey day in day out. However mainly the sex scenes (gasp shock horror I know!) there were a couple of moments between Ollie and Mia that I thought needed to be there for sure, the story lines dictated that intimacy between them it was well placed and relevant. Others however felt superfluous and I found myself skimming over them entirely. The story line and the emotional level of the novel was strong enough that it just wasn’t needed and it slowed the pacing of the novel down.
That said I loved Nicole’s use of Ollie’s poetry at the beginning of each chapter. The way she showcased Ollie’s inner mind and the struggles he faced over his emotions towards Mia through his medicated haze. The multi-layered plot themes were well managed, and sensitive subject matters were well thought out and delicately written. Plenty of plot twists throughout that kept me guessing but one thing is for sure, the clarity of Mia and Ollie’s relationship and the fact that they are made for each other doesn’t waver and I am looking forward to reading Book 3.
So I have been impatiently waiting for this book to come out as soon as I finished Stay With Me!
So naturally when it got dropped on my kindle at night I dropped everything and started it and read all night til I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. Then finished it the next day lol.
I have loved Ollie since SWM and just loved him even more in this one. His mind, heart and how he wears his emotions just pulls on MY emotions. To get his POV of what happened in the end of book 1, if you haven’t read that go now cuz I don’t wanna spoil it for ya, to see what was going through his head at that time just killed me but made me happy that he was still in there deep down. There were parts that I wasn’t happy with him but in the end understood the situation haha.
Mia my poor little Mia. I was so happy with her this book, not that I wasn’t in book 1, but her strength in this one just made me so damn proud and happy. There were so many times she could ya w went back to how she was but she stayed true to her new self and made sure she got her Ollie back. Never once did she lose her faith in him. I love them together. But the ending you guys about damn near broke my heart for many reasons. So now I am left impatiently waiting for the final book haha.
This book took me on such a roller coaster of emotions. From happy to sad to flipping anger and to broken-hearted. I have no words other than incredible and amazing. Loved every since damn page of this gorgeous book!!
5⃣ PLUSSSS
recommend this book and this series!!
Even When I’m Gone is the second book in Stay With Me series. Just like in the first book, Nicole took me on an emotional ride.Joy, sadness, anger, love. That’s all I felt when I read that book. This dark new adult romance had a lot of twists and turns, which made the book intriguing.Mia’s been through so much in this book that I can’t wait to see her hea.
And Ollie… I can’t wait to see what he’ll do to save their relationship. I need book 3 ASAP.
Loved this second book in this series. Full of steam, angst, love , twist and turns at every corner. This book has it all. Mia and Ollie are fire ! But ..spoiler alert it leaves at a cliffhanger…when will they get their HEA. I need book 3 like yesterday!!! I didn’t see the Ethan twist coming and loved how his perspective came to view at the end. Really excited to see where Fiorina takes this story next .
This is the second book in this series. The first introduced me to Ollie and Mia and their emotional breath taking love story. It left me with quite the cliff hanger. This one picks me back up with these two still in desperate need of each other. Mia is struggling with the fact that Ollie has left her. But no matter what she will not give up on him. But Ethan is there to help her through the nights so to speak. But things start happening to her. That is the plot twist of all plot twists. Who is doing these nasty things to Mia and why? Every chapter every gripping moment in this one had me hooked from the very beginning to the very end. Nicole is an amazing writer and this book this series proves that. She not only brings out the emotions when you are reading about these characters but you can easily feel what each of these characters are going through with their illness. This book is full of suspense, twists, turns, emotions you never see coming. A page turner you don’t want to put down until the end. And the end again left me hanging on the ledge. I loved each and every character in this one. Felt each and every emotion. I absolutely love Ollie and Mia’s story and cant wait to see what happens next.
I am not even gonna lie. I ignored everything when this came out. I don’t need sleep. #TeamOllie S.W.M. was earth shattering but this. I can’t even with this. It obliterates you. The ups and downs in this book are a rollercoaster ride.
Mia is so strong, more than she realizes. She fights for him, for them.
Ollie’s mind is a prison. Hes stuck on the inside looking out. Know what he wants but his mind and body are beyond his control.
Ethan, holds Mia together. Chases away the monsters in the night. The unwanted hero.
Who comes out on top?! This will blow your mind.
An epic intense sequal to Stay With Me!So many emotions went thru me while reading this.So many twists and turns.I was on the very edge of my seat the entire time wondering what was gonna be thrown at Ollie and Mia next. The struggles these two go thru..absolutely devestating! The strength of their love, even after being tested so many times and so many obstacles being thrown in their path.gosh its swoonworthy.I highly recommend this series.Even after finishing the book I haven’t been able to get their story out of my head.Ollie is sticking to me like glue.Wondering whats next for them is driving.me crazy!
This book is everything and more. Nicole Fiorina did it again with the second book in Oliver and Mia story. Nicole’s books are like nothing I have read before. They are raw, emotional and take you on a journey you never expect. This book keeps you on edge and asking for more. Nicole attention to detail and description of the characters pain is poetic and beautiful and has you feeling right along with the characters. After reading book one you will definitely want to dive into this second book that is a book you will never forget.
