Single dad Andy Shaw loves his job as a sports agent, with one exception: it doesn’t leave him much time for his kids. No parent likes being sidelined, so Andy decides to hire someone to share the workload. But when one of the hottest agents in the industry applies, Andy knows that this deal is definitely trouble.Danicka Douglas works her butt off, but being an attractive woman in a … testosterone-heavy industry isn’t exactly a cakewalk. She guards her professional reputation fiercely, which means no crushing on her gorgeous boss. But the more they ignore that sexy little spark, the more it sizzles…
Just when it looks like romance might be in the game plan, Dani is threatened by a stalker with dark intentions. To keep her safe, Andy must cross the line between professional and very personal…because this time, he’s playing for keeps.

I’m now completely addicted to Beth Ehemann’s words!! Was it only a couple of weeks ago that I read my first book by this author and I’ve devoured each one! Even The Score was no exception.
“She had cute ears. Who the hell had cute ears? They were weird little cartilage-filled skin flaps that hung off the sides of your head, yet hers were adorable.”
The characters are so real, human and flawed. Best of all the situations and the humor is real life, down to earth and not blown out of proportion!
“The way we were standing left me in a bit of trouble. On one hand, I didn’t want to let go, ever, but on the other, if she kept talking in that low, sexy voice, she was going to know exactly how much I liked her when I impaled her hip bone.”
A friend and I listened to the audiobook of this on a long road trip. Perfect narration for an enjoyable ride! We laughed and were entertained the whole way.
“Up until that moment, I had no idea that some people could hug better than others.
“No guy had ever given me butterflies the way he did.
This is my third book by Beth and I enjoyed Even the Score as much as I did the two books in Cranberry Inn series. Before I picked up this book I was in such a reading slump. Nothing sounded interesting to me besides this book.
I loved it from start to finish. All the characters were amazing. I especially loved Andy’s two kids. Both Andy and Danicka were really interesting characters. They are both sports agents, I really liked that Danicka was one too. Normally you don’t see a lot of female sports agents so her being one was really refreshing. I just love it when women are in the business dominated by men. What was refreshing as well was that Andy wasn’t a douche or anything. He hires Danicka because he sees her as a great addition to his compant. There is attraction from the start but Danicka is hesitant to mix pleasure with business.
This was a light contemporary romance. I loved that characters from previous books made an appearance in this book as well. There was a little bit of suspense, but it didn’t takeover the whole story. I thought it was a great extra layer to the story.
PS: I so need to read Viper’s Heart series! Viper was AMAZING in this book!
OMG! I really loved this book. Andy and Danicka were friggin amazing and I loved them so much. It is very refreshing to read a sports romance that does not involve an athlete. I loved that this set around the things that go on behind the scenes with athletes and their sports agents. The slow burn romance building between Andy and Danicka was hot. They both tried so hard to deny their attraction for one another. But things are also complicated because Danicka is in a business dominated by men and her starting a relationship with her coworker would tarnish her image and Andy is a single father with a crazy ex-wife.
I really enjoyed this book. It was cute, funny, and suspenseful. The characters are lovable and Andy’s kids are so damn adorable. I looking forward to reading more books by Beth Ehemann.
I’ve had this book on my TBR for ages and for whatever reason never pulled the trigger. My first from this author but it won’t be my last. Even the toughest of women sometimes need a strong wing to enfold her once in a while and to Danicka Douglas’ surprise, it came in the form of a single Dad who is also her boss. Strong, independent and immensely gorgeous, she needs to fight a crap ton of stereotypes in order to make it as a sports agent and she does it with style and a fight. But someone out there wants to see her fail and soon, Andy and his kids are stealing her heart and teaching her needing someone on her side is not a negative thing. A little suspense and some nice steam round out a good story.
Although I liked hanging out with my favourite characters from the previous books, I didn’t like this book that much.
I wasn’t as invested in Andy and Dani’s relationship as I should. They were brought together due to circumstances and for me the progression in their relationship felt really unnaturally. That been said, the book is well written and I would love to read more by this author. This just wasn’t the book for me.
5 Brody Murphy, who? stars
If you have been following my reviews on this interwoven series then you know that I have mad love for Brody Murphy. He was the perfect catch in Room for You and my love for him grew with every book Ehemann released. Even Viper, with his crude jokes and tats, couldn’t top Brody for my book boyfriend of this series. But now, it’s with a not-so-heavy-heart that I tell you that Brody has been replaced by Andy Shaw. *swoon*
I recommend that you read the first three in the Cranberry Inn series and the Viper’s Heart duo before jumping into this one. It will give you some insight on Andy and you won’t have to be worried about getting spoiled for the other books. You’re welcome.
Andy Shaw is a talented and focused sports agent who manages a lot of famous athletes – like Brody and Viper. With his client listing growing, he finds himself working long hours to the detriment of his kids. Andy is a single dad of two wonderful children. And with a barely there mother, they need him to step up and really be a parent – not just a provider. That’s when he decides to hire a partner to help carry the workload. But he doesn’t want just anyone, he wants Danicka Douglas.
Dani is growing tired of being a woman in, what feels like, a man’s career. Her current employer doesn’t seem to take her seriously and wants her to accept a client that has been unprofessional towards her. So when she hears that Andy Shaw is hiring a partner, she applies and hopes that this is the break she has been working towards. Dani and Andy have a bumpy start, but like I mentioned earlier, Andy will stop at nothing to have Dani at his side.
When lines start to blur and a stalker arises, Andy and Dani’s professional, and not so professional, relationship takes a hit. (Ehemann will blindside you with the twisty turns in this one guys!) Dani can’t believe she is letting Andy take care of her. Andy can’t believe he is already claiming this woman as his. And the Cranberry Inn gang, and myself, are cheering them on from the sidelines!
I’m telling you guys – this is the best one yet! Highly recommended!

A touch of suspense, some quirky friends, cute kids and a lot of sizzle- my kind of story! This was my first book by the author & I can’t wait to read more. The audiobook narrated by my favorite ear candy Christian Fox was the icing on the cupcake!
Wow! This book was so amazing, I didn’t want it to end. This author has created some of my all time favorite book boyfriends, but I gotta say – Andy is now my favorite!! He has the whole hot single dad package going for him, and man-oh-man did he make me melt with his sweet and swoony words.
I have so many favorite parts in this books, but Becca’s prayers were downright hilarious!!!
Thank you Beth Ehemann for Andy’s beautiful story.
*4,5 – 5 stars*
My first read from this author and I really enjoyed this book. A fun sexy romantic read that will definitely wurm it’s way into your heart. And of course, who doesn’t love a good single dad’s romance book 🙂 Loved the kids in this book, they were totally adorable and loved the interactions with them in the story. Definitely would recommend this book!
Andy is a single dad with a busy schedule as a sports manager although he’s trying to do the best he can to be there for his kids but it isn’t easy. But with his business growing every day, he realises he needs to hire more help in his office so he puts out an ad to hopefully find someone soon. But it’s not as easy as it seems and when he finally gets to interview Danicka, upcoming rising sports manager, he feels his luck is changing. Danicka isn’t very impressed with him but she needs to find another job as soon as possible ‘cuz her current situation is taking its toll on her. When both find an understanding and she gets hired, things are looking up for both of them. Even though they are establishing a great working relationship, the chemistry between them is off the charts. But when Danicka is getting threats, things get even more harder. Will they finally be able to admit their feelings for one another? And will Danicka finally know who is out to get her?…
**4.5 Stars**
Man, oh man, Beth nailed it with this one! After meeting Andy and his horrendous ex-wife Blaire, I was dying for his story. Needless to say, it was everything I wanted his story to be and more.
Andy, then agent and friend of Brody and Viper’s that we first meet in the Cranberry Inn series, is probably my next favorite character within this group of friends. After kicking his ex-wife to the curb, he has been the rocking the single dad and business owner thing, but he finds himself in the position of working more than he should and spending less time with his kids. When Brody dreams up a brilliant idea to hire a partner, Andy can’t wait to start sharing some of the responsibility, what he didn’t know was that Danika was more than he knew he needed.
After making a name for herself in the sports agency field, Danika (aka Dani) jumped at the chance when she knew Andy’s company was looking for a new partner. Finding herself in an awkward position with her old agency, Dani jumped at the chance to join the agency, what she didn’t know was that she was jumping in with more than just business with her new boss.
I loved Andy’s story. The tough sports agent was trying to do it all on his own and didn’t realize that having a business and a happily ever after were just what he needed. You see more of our favorite Cranberry Inn and Viper’s Heart characters but, you get a whole lotta Andy love. I can’t wait for others to read his story and fall in love.
