Awesome action and psychological thriller plus romance!
I have no words for where this story took me. I am in awe of the author’s ability with the written word and an abstract concept. It’s a daring thrill-ride that I pray is pure fiction, but terrifies me with how very possible it is. In a world that seems hell-bent on tearing people apart, I love reading about lovers being reunited. And Damian and Raine are a pair that more than deserved a second chance. Ever since I first met him, there was just something so compelling about the enigmatic Special Agent in Charge that made me rather desperate to know more about Damian. Raine is his perfect partner in every way. When talking about Raine, I feel the need to borrow an Old Hollywood analogy about Fred & Ginger: sure he was great, but don’t forget that she did everything he did, …backwards and in high heels. This sentiment, to me, perfectly captures who Raine is and why she is so amazing at her job. I hate that the book is over already because I am nowhere near done with these characters. I need the next book NOW!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
Amazing, Romantic and action packed.
Raine meyers of DIA and Damian Prescott of the FBI reunite for a great story to show the bravery and loyalty of the brave men and women who serve to protect our freedoms. There is an unknown threat against the wives and families of Delta Force. Raine and Damian must live as a married couple under cover to locate the threat and protect the wives .it’s a journey of Healing and Victory. I highly recommend this book
This is a wonderful romantic suspense book about a young woman named Raine who is a defense intelligence officer who was saved at one point by the elite Delta Force Echo Team and feels that she owes them her life. There has been a Russian threat to the Delta Force wives – the Russians want to threaten and hurt the wives to distract their husbands from their missions, possibly even convincing them to quit the Delta Force altogether. Damian is currently a FBI Special Agent in Charge, who was a former Delta Force operator and also Raine’s former fiance. Raine and Damian decide to pretend to be married (which makes Raine one of the targets of the Russians), to try to catch a mole causing problems for the wives. Can Damien keep her safe? It was interesting to read about all the alias’s Raine has used in her various missions and about the double agent roles she and Damian play. It was fun to discover how much the author must have researched to write in such detail about various fighting techniques, agent strategies, and especially the various communication and weapon devices similar to what you might find in a James Bond movie. The Moscow Rules were a great addition to the book. And the romantic side of things was wonderful to read. There was lots of action, adventure, danger, and violence. I was glad for the HEA after all that tension. I highly recommend this book!
I seriously need more than WOW!!!
Even Odds brings Fiona Quinn’s Iniquus world back to her FBI Joint Task Force Series and it’s the man himself Damien Prescott in the firing seat…lol Damien has been a presence throughout Fiona’s world and I have been wanting to read more about him for ages and seriously who knew everything this gorgeous badass had been through and Fiona write amazingly awesome badass characters both men and women…
Raine Meyer is the woman who walked away, ran away but she eventually found her way back… There is that saying ‘if you set it free it will come back if it’s meant to be’ I felt this was true of both Raine and Damien and their way back to each other was filled with so much emotion, action, and love.
Raine and Damien both struggle with decisions they made in the past, they both made mistakes but honestly it was so apparent from the very beginning that their connection was extremely solid and once they both let go of the past their way forward was always going to be together.
The ending of this story for me was PERFECT seriously perfect. I loved the whole book but especially the ending.
If your new to Fiona Quinn I seriously recommend starting at the very beginning of her Iniquus world with Weakest Lynx, I began there and have loved every single book since.
Another great book by Fiona Quinn! She has a way of tell a story that grabs your attention and doesn’t let it go. This book features Special Agent in Charge Damian Prescott and his high school sweetheart Raine Meyers aka: Clara Edwards, Cammy Burke, Paisley Moorhead, Oscar, Storm. These two were engaged at one time but it ended when Raine threw her ring in Damian’s face. Fast forward 6 years with no contact and each are working for different alphabet agencies and are after the same target. Can they work together or will unresolved emotions on both sides interfere? The lives of military wives depend on them finding the threat. This book is action packed, suspense filled and will definitely make you think.
Delta Force wives are being threatened in an attempt to force their spouses not to re-up. That these deep secret identities and contract information are somehow getting out there is what the alphabet soup people are out to figure out and end.
Raine Meyers is ex Delta Force, coming back after a long absence, it’s her assignment to put a stopper to the leak. Because she owes them for saving her life. And because that’s what she does. That it puts her undercover as the now retired wife of a Delta Force operative – that she was engaged to years ago, in another life – will change life as she knows it in ways she doesn’t even envision . . . yet.
Another no holds barred adventure for the joint mission.
Each of these three volumes is great as a stand alone, but they interweave seamlessly with Quinn’s whole thriller list. I first found Fiona Quinn with Open Secret, the first in this trilogy. Locked down ownership of the other two without even blinking an eye. Sadly – no, not really – I’m going back to catch up her whole back list, I don’t want to miss any of them, you won’t either. Promise!
