Ethan knows he’s about to take a dangerous step, but he’s on the job, and no one—on the job or not—hurts animals while he’s around. This poor shepherd has taken enough abuse, and Ethan fears she is only the tip of a nightmare he’s determined to uncover. But he knows she’s going to lead him in the right direction.
He has his sights set on saving one dog in particular, Sentry: K9 File 01.

Dale Mayer does a lot with beat em up tough guys. This one has very real characters, including the protagonist who is scarred from military service. The relationship rings true, and highlights heroes that often get forgotten; service dogs. Enjoyed it.
A good read full of action and the storyline was unusual based upon the rescue of dogs in need
So inspiring I loved reading it Kept me interested thru the whole book
I read this author’s books regularly cuz I am never disappointed.
Not bad.
This is a really great book, Ethan is assigned to locate a K-9 soldier who they have lost track of and they all deserve great homes after their service to our country. There is nine missing and Ethan has been assigned to find locate and ascertain if he is in a good place. This book details this assignment, suspenseful romantic mystery thriller you just can’t put down or want to end. I loved this.
Boring and predictable
This was an entertaining story, and a hero who was a military dog trainer and handler was interesting.
Good read
Ethan is a gifted dog handler who lost his service dog, his leg, and his parents two years ago and has not quite recovered from all his losses. He is called upon to locate Sentry, a decommissioned service dog in Houston. All “veterans” need after care but Sentry has gone missing. Ethan encounters a severely wounded dog and brings the dog to the vet where he meets Cinn, a young woman who places dogs in loving homes. She recognizes his closed off nature and forms a friendship with him. Ethan’s search brings danger or Finn.
I am an animal lover and did enjoy the story but was disappointed with the Epilogue which seemed to be Chapter 1 of the next book.
I love books about dogs and their trainers!
If I could give it more stars, I would.
This was a good book. A nice quick summer read.
