When one door closes … second chances open another … opportunity he can’t refuse. A chance to do the work he used to do … with a twist.
Cinnamon works from home as a project manager plus is heavily involved in global dog rescues—dogs of all kinds. When Ethan walks into the next door’s vet’s office with an injured shepherd in his arms, she sees another lost soul—just like the canine ones she helps.
Ethan knows he’s about to take a dangerous step, but he’s on the job, and no one—on the job or not—hurts animals while he’s around. This poor shepherd has taken enough abuse, and Ethan fears she is only the tip of a nightmare he’s determined to uncover. But he knows she’s going to lead him in the right direction.
He has his sights set on saving one dog in particular, Sentry: K9 File 01.

A great new series by Dale Mayer
The books are about the K-9 War Dogs that have fallen through the cracks and the men who are looking for the dogs. The Titanium Group (Seals of Steel) has been asked to find and check on them.
Ethan is a former Navy K-9 trainer and handler, he has been recovering form injuries received in the line of duty. He is now searching for one of the War Dogs that is missing, along the way he finds an injured Shepard who he helps and meets up with some old friend and make new ones. Cinn is an animal lover who volunteers for a national animal rescue group with dogs of her own. Ethan and Cinn together are great and you will fall in love with all the dogs in this book.
The story flows and you just want to keep reading until you finish the book.

I knew going into this that the dogs would touch my heart, they have already been through so much. Their training is tough, and for those who have served in military they have also seen and suffered much just with that. Many have lost their training partners, been shipped home and virtually forgotten. Ending up with people who don’t care about them or only in as what those dogs can do for them. Ethan cares, it shows in everything he does and how he treats them, also in how they respond to him. Cinn loves dogs as well so this is a match made in heaven, they just have to go through some pretty nasty stuff to get there. Suspenseful and action packed story that is equal parts human and dog, there is some violence and some tense moments to keep you on edge. Mostly this is about relationships, human and canine, trust and love as well as training and commands, it is a learning curve for all but so worth it all in the end. Loving this new series that is an extension of the previous ones, taking the security business along another route, still linking with Badger, Levi, Flynn and the others which is great. To see these all helping each other as needed and cropping up in all the various series means continuation of the original stories I fell in love with. This has a fast pace and an originality of plot that is interesting and a bit edgy, I loved getting lost in reading it and learning more about these dogs who help keep us all safe in their respective careers.
This book is the perfect one to start off Dale Mayer’s new series, The K9 Files! Ethan is home after losing his leg and his K9 partner. He has bouts of depression especially after his parents die and feels lost. When a request comes from Navy command to locate a missing retired military K9, Ethan is assigned the job.
There’s lots of excitement in this smoothly written suspense novel. There are lots of dogs, one pretty woman and a man finding his passion again. I really enjoyed this story and I look forward to the next installment in this new series.

Ethan: K9 Files, Book 1
What could be better than Wounded Warriors finding each other after combat and healing together?
Some of our favorite SEALS (SEALS of Steel) who formed their own security company after being medically discharged from service have received a new mission. They have been asked to locate Military War Dogs who have gone missing and to see that the dogs are receiving the good life as was earned by their service.
The first missing dog, Sentry, is assigned to Ethan Nebberly who was a former military K9 Handler before injuries forced him into a civilian life where he is still trying to find his niche. Who knew this search would include not just one special dog, but more as Ethan stirs up a hornets nest of illegal activity. Fortunately, he has found an ally and partner in Cinnamon Michelson as well as a full cast of loveable characters and some dastardly types, too.
This book that is full of honor, respect, mystery, suspense & romance will have you hooked from Page 1 to The End. I cannot wait for more from this new series by Dale Mayer.

Ethan, a former military K-9 trainer, has a new mission to find a retired military dog. Ethan is amazing in gaining a dog’s trust. When Ethan saves Sally, a German shepherd, his care for the dog perks Cinn’s interest. Cinn volunteers in helping with international dog rescues. As Ethan tracks back the route to where Sally came from, he inadvertently puts Cinn in danger. I received a free copy of this book from the author through Booksprout. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This book is a terrific start to a new suspenseful series. Through this interesting read, I learned a lot about military dogs, K-9 handlers, and dog training. It’s sometimes heartbreaking what happens to the dog and the handler when one of them is injured. This romantic suspense was hard to put down. I love this new series.
I really think this story Ethan The K9 Files – 01 is fantastic . Ethan and Cinnamon ( Cinn) , are just perfect for each other .Ethan is a damaged warrior with compassion and caring for K9s even if he is not so good with people . Cinn is fantastic and caring with rescuing K9s . Ethan And Cinn get along fantastically .
I love how characters from Dale Mayers other series are included in this story . This is a great book to start this new series . I look forward to reading more . Ethan is really action packed and intense . You are pulled right in and cannot put it down . It is full of suspense and intrigue . I felt like I was right there with the characters . I highly recommend reading this well written and fabulous story . 5 read all the way .
This new series (which is an offshoot of other wonderful Navy Seals stories written by Dale Mayer) starts with Ethan agreeing to try to find a lost K9 named Sentry. Ethan started his search not realizing he would come up against ruthless men in a drug operation and he would endanger Cinnamon his new friend as well. In the process of finding Sentry, Ethan did not only meet a new friend but also reunited with old friends. The book moves quickly enough that I couldn’t put it down. I was a bit concerned about starting a book with dogs as they can easily pull at my heartstrings but this story is well done and I’m really looking forward to the next in the series which is about Pierce and another search for a missing K9.
Love, Love, Love this new series by Dale Mayer from our Badgers group of Seals and their new company Titanium Corp, that employees former seals, who in this series is searching for K-9 units that the government has lost track of after their return home. This one has Ethan, a former K-9 handler and trainer searching for Sentry. He crosses paths with Cinnamon who works from her house and is actively involved in global dog rescues. This book touches all the bases, and can be enjoyed by multiple age groups. Suspense, K-9, romance, former seals, our wonderful friends, Levi, Anna, Flynn , who if you haven’t met before you will definitely want to go read their own stories.
Cinnamon is one intelligent, thoughtful, gutsy women and I loved how she took on each issue with calm and logic. Her banter with Ethan made me smile. His calmness as he took on aggressive dogs taught to harm was inspiring and his willingness to show all dogs can be re-homed if taught correctly made my day. You do not want to miss this series if you love former seals, dogs and their women!
Thank you Dale Mayer, thank you Booksprout for this incredible arc! All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
The start of a new series. Heroes, Navy SEALS who can no longer serve due to life changing injuries, find a new mission. K9 soldiers, dogs trained for military service, have been retired and now are missing. Ethan is the first SEAL to look for a missing dog, K9:01. The goal: to find the dog and to make sure he is safe, whether in an appropriate home or working for good. Ethan is a former K9 trainer and a dog lover. He meets Cinn, a dog rescuer. The two meet challenges and obstacles to make rescue their dog and more.
Dale Mayer, author of the series SEALS of Steel, Heroes for Hire, and SEALS of Honor, has another great series emerging. This book follows SEALS of Steel and there are a few characters from these other series. These are stand alone books (and wonderful). The characters are rich and inspiring, the plot page turning (yes, I missed sleep to find out what happened next), and am eager to read the next book (and the next and the next . . .).

This is an excellent new series from Dale Mayer. The K9 Files. This series is about finding military dogs that had gone unaccounted for, for different reasons once they were back in the states. I love the stories and how the military dogs are not forgotten. There is a lot of action in this book and heartbreak for the dogs. Also loved Ethan’s story and his connection to Badger. Also Cinn’s character is amazing as well. They make a good team.
