Heartbeats had a pesky way of complicating things. They almost always came with the nasty side effect of humanity and finally… death.Since Thorne came into my life, I’d been plagued with both.Heartbeats and humanity. Both of these things were going to be the death of me.One way or another. And the death of everyone I knew and loved, a list growing longer with every beat of my newly repaired—and … of my newly repaired—and irritating—heart.
That pesky humanity was almost as toxic as the most debilitating illness on this hunk of rock, killing more humans than any vampire could.
Love.
And there I was, attached to a slayer who I couldn’t be undead without.
Friends who I was becoming increasingly attached to.
All things—people—he would take away from me.
Then he’d take me too.
But if it came to that, I’d yank out my beating heart and crush it in my hands before he could touch me.
It was lost anyway. If he won, my eternity would come to an end. As it happened, so would the world.
That only meant I couldn’t lose.

Oh how I HATE it when I can’t rate a book above 5 stars… Because if I could… This book would be a million and that wouldn’t even be enough….
The continuation of the Vein Chronicles and Isla’s story was everything I could’ve imagined and SO MUCH MORE than that! Isla is definitely back and she’s badder than ever… So many questions answered and so many more questions asked. You can’t help but to keep turning the pages to find out what happens next!
The writer has definitely left her stamp on the PNR world and I adore it. Shes created her own theology and it fits the story so well.
My heart hurt when I was done reading, but it hurt in the best way. I laughed, I cried, I yelled, I shook my tablet… All of the emotions were absolutely felt!
I’ve read this story 3 times and it gets better everytime.
Holy HELL this needs to be on your shelf!!!!!
And the drama continues…
It took me so long to figure out how to rate this story. There was so much to love and one glaringly obvious thing to hate.
Ultimately, the good outweighed the bad and here we are. I loved the way the story of the uprising continued to unfold and the idea of a prophesy. It was still interesting to see how all of these characters played a pivotal part, no matter how hard they fought it.
Screw it, I can’t continue until I get my Isla issues off of my chest. She drove me up many walls with her behavior. For the first two books, I found her annoyingly awesome and it was easy to stomach her superficial and irreverent attitude. I just couldn’t do it again. No more excuses for this witch.
“I am well aware of your unpredictable, narcissistic, childish, and downright suicidal behavior.” – Rick
And she had the gall to be proud of her abhorrent actions. I read this book with equal parts disdain and disgust over her character. At one point she even points out that people keep expecting her to grow up or evolve and that it wasn’t going to happen because she loved who she was.
I’m all for loving yourself. If you can’t love you, how can you expect others to love you? I get that 100%. And you shouldn’t really have to change just to please other people. But when you’re a horrible person and can admit that and when you know that those you love and who love you find it hard to completely get behind your movement? Loving yourself to the point where you hurt, disregard, and disrespect those you claim to love takes it too far. Considering that most of the book is told from her perspective, with her sarcasm, ignorance, and so-called sass sprinkled liberally throughout, this story has gotten a bit hard to stomach.
And really, how much more of this am I supposed to take?
When you take Isla out of the equation, for the most part, the rest of this story was insanely good. Whenever Thorne wasn’t busy saving Isla, being concerned for Isla, talking sense into Isla, and generally being her little Jiminy Cricket, he was the alpha, protective, vicious, and fearsome warrior I had come to know and love. I only wish I got to see more of his perspective. His voice of reason was beyond necessary. Let’s not forget the colorful cast of secondary characters, such as Sophie, Conall, Duncan, Rick and Scott. All were amazing and a couple of them broke my heart into pieces. I literally gasped from the shock and had to control my anger at the change in the story. Luckily a glimpse at the end gave me some hope, but my heart is still quite broken.
Heart. Freaking. Broken.
So there’s a rebellion and a rise for control of the human race. Leader of the pack is Isla’s not-so-dead husband, Johnathan. I really liked how the other used him as a potential growing pain for Isla and how fabulously it failed. Death is imminent and still Isla can’t take anything seriously. At least her bloodthirsty ways are still alive and kicking. I love the fight scenes and every chance there is for Isla to prove why I hate and love her so much!
Honestly, this story has been incredible. With the bold strokes this author gave to the world she’s created, you can’t help but be engrossed by the drastic twists and turns that she puts her characters through. I’m constantly surprised and I love not knowing what to expect next. Nothing is predictable and no one is safe. Is a happy ending still possible? I sure do hope so. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book of the series to see what sort of chaos will be my undoing.
The fight to protect the world from extinction continues. So much loss and heartache. War of any kind is ugly.
Isla is still in the fight of her life. The prophecy still breathing down her neck. And to make things worse, she is now more fragile than ever because she is in her awakening.
This story continues with Isla and all her badassery! We get to re-visit with old friends. Sophie is still struggling with dark magic that threatens to overtake her. Isla now has to deal with the aftermath of knowing that Jonathan’s memory was nothing but lies and deception and a mother that is hell bent on ending her.
And then it all goes really bad, Sophie and Isla are both taken.
This story had it all. A war that no one will really win without a great loss, a crazy ex that will stop at nothing to get to his ex-wife, losses that will leave lasting effects but also the power of love and resilience. I continue to look forward to more in this series.
What do you get when you combine vampires,a human slayer, witches, and wolves? Pure awesomeness! It sounds like the line of a joke, but I assure you, this series is no joke. Ancient prophecies, revenge, true friendships, some losses, but in the end love prevails!
Isla and Sophie are best friends, more like sisters really. Both would kill or die for the other. Isl a found herself in love with a human slayer and Sophie has attracted a wolf. Isla has made many an enemy, including her family and her ex husband who she thought was long dead. He’s back and he wants her back, to be his queen. Battles ensue, and Isla is fighting old prophecies, sand everyone else it seems. Will her version of good prevail? Yes, but at what cost, who will she lose in this war before it is all said and done.
I love this series. Isla and Sophie are bad asses in their own right, but this book? It’s on a whole new level. This one took me on an emotional roller coaster. But enjoyed every second of it!
This author never disappoints. She totally knocked it out of the park. This series has been one amazing ride, but Eternity’s Awakening was so full of everything, that I couldn’t get enough of it. I think Isla is my new favorite female character. She is just kick ass, strong, beautiful and sassy. I could feel all the words and felt like I was apart of it all. Vein Chronicles is not a prediction of actions, but an adventure of a whole new world.
Anne Malcom is truly a talented. Her books are so well written. She creates these stories that drawl you in, they take you to places and engulf you in the characters. You become so wrapped up in the feelings and the characters that you feel all the emotions they do. I am such a fan of Anne’s…she makes reading so exciting.
I have said before I’m not a big paranormal fan, but Ann makes me a fan. I hope you enjoy Eternity’s Awakening as much as I did. Isla, Thorne, Sophie…all are amazing character that only the mind of Anne Malcom can imagine.
This is the book where Isla finally gets to go to war against her d-bag exhusband, Jonathan and does it with her trademark snark, sarcasm, and flair, though she doesn’t come out of it unscathed. We’ve (the readers) have known all along that Isla isn’t exactly the monster she touts herself to be, but this journey brings her humanity to the forefront. This book is not only action-packed, it’s an emotional rollercoaster. If you’ve enjoyed the series so far, keep going. It’s definitely worth the ride.
You know that saying, “third time’s the charm…”
That’s how I feel about Eternity’s Awakening. I am stunned silent. This is how you go out with a bang.
Anne Malcom didn’t just slay with this book, she grabbed an entire ship full of TNT and blew it out of this world.
There was so much going on in this book. I mean, you’re just thrown into the fire within the first couple of chapters of the story and then taken back in time to lead us to that anxiety filled moment. I was screaming from the beginning. “Nooo! Wait, please, I need to know more! Why is there so much blood? Who is coming to help?!”
The whole book was amazing. We got to see a new side of Isla, one I don’t think I ever saw coming. Her relationship with Thorne grows even more, regardless of our sexy alpha’s never ending attempts to go all “caveman” on Isla any chance he gets.
We get to see our signature redhead in all her sass and action packed “badassery” with her trusty soulmate sister, Witchy Sophie.
God, I love that relationship so much. I need a Sophie and Isla in my life. I have said this before and I’ll continue to say it again.
Or better yet, just give me Anne Malcom. I’ll take the brains behind the operation. Be my friend, Anne Malcom, PLEASE!
Ugh, I really didn’t expect to cry with this book. Or, well, what am I talking about? What Anne Malcom book hasn’t made me cry?? This woman is so good at packing powerful, emotion filled punches with her words. She so amazing at grasping these feelings and sucking us readers in to join along with her characters.
With so much action, you can only expect that much death. And there are some doozies in this book. I’m still clutching my heart and trying to steady my breath.
Amazing… simply amazing! 10 Stars!! You’ve done it again, Malcom. #WinnerWinnerChickenDinner
When you throw your kindle more than once when reading that’s how you know it’s a good book Or is that just me? (Looks around…anyone?..anyone..?) Moving on..
Eternity’s Awakening is definitely my favorite book so far in this series..this action packed, sassy, emotional roller coaster will take you on one hell of a ride.
The time for war has finally arrived and Anne Malcom does not disappoint …between the fast paced action, swoon worthy Thorne/Isla moments, all the sassy/sarcastic words & (my personal favorite) Sophie/Isla moments; you will be on the edge of your seat, gripping you kindle, smiling, laughing and freaking out while reading. And that ended oh the ending! If you love paranormal then you must read Eternity’s Awakening; you won’t be disappointed
Fast paced, witty, funny, tense, full of all of the snark. This book is so many things and it does it so well. It has everything from laugh out loud moments to moments so tense you will be on the edge of your seat. You will laugh, smirk, be tempted to throw your e-reading device of choice. Anne Malcom really hit a home run on this one. This series has been wonderful from the beginning with sassy and snarky female characters that you will want to be. This book we see some amazing character development for Isla. The best in the series. It is wonderful to read with the authors typical flare for writing not only emotionally descriptive prose but being able to do so and draw out not only emotions from the reader but also make you laugh and smile at the same time.
This is my favourite vampire PNR series as it isn’t often you get the female lead being the vampire. It is also packed to the gills with pop culture references and more sassy snark than your average book. I always feel empowered as woman when I read a great female lead like there is in this book.
This book really feels like it has it all. Touching moments, funny moments and moments so frustrating to the reader you want to scream. The best kind of emotional rollercoaster to go on. I completely recommend this series and this book even if PNR isn’t usually your thing because I am certain you will fall in love with the characters as much as I have.
I am so in love with this series! I am not a huge fan of paranormal stories, but Anne Malcom has a wonderful way of writing these stories that just pull me in! The covers alone are enough to make want to read this series! I think I have a love/hate relationship with Isla – there is no way around that. Thorne is so alpha yummy and the secondary characters are amazing. This is another 5 Stars read from this series!
Oh man. Some stories are just too much to properly review! Was it everything I expected? YES! Did it bring out extreme emotion? YES! Did I find myself sending messages ranting? YES! Is it completely epic? YES!
I’m not usually a reader of PNR. But I gave book 1 – Fatal Harmony- a chance and was totally and completely sucked in by Isla and crew. Make sure you start there. Followed by Deathless & Faults in Fate.
I have no idea how to write this review but to say BUY THIS BOOK!
You definitely need to start from the beginning of this series, but this isn’t your typical fantasy vampiric romance. It’s sassy, it’s petty, it’s designer clothes and a bloody drink. It’s sexy, raw and so sarcastic, I wanted more.
Eternity’s Awakening is book three in Anne Malcom’s The Vein Chronicles series. This book continues on from Deathless, so it’s highly recommended that Fatal Harmony and Deathless are read prior to this, also it wouldn’t hurt to have read Faults In Fate (Sophie & Conall’s novella) before as well.
Heartbeats had a pesky way of complicating things.
They almost always came with the nasty side effect of humanity and finally… death.
Since Thorne came into my life, I’d been plagued with both.
Heartbeats and humanity.
Both of these things were going to be the death of me.
One way or another.
And the death of everyone I knew and loved, a list growing longer with every beat of my newly repaired—and irritating—heart.
That pesky humanity was almost as toxic as the most debilitating illness on this hunk of rock, killing more humans than any vampire could.
Love.
And there I was, attached to a slayer who I couldn’t be undead without.
Friends who I was becoming increasingly attached to.

It was lost anyway. If he won, my eternity would come to an end. As it happened, so would the world.
That only meant I couldn’t lose.
Now it’s taken me a few days to write this review as I am still reeling from it. There is soooo much happening and it’s a lot to process and recover from. But I am so looking forward to what’s to come next in this series.
The sassy, immature, narcissistic, kicka** Vampire Isla and her Scooby Gang are back to fight the rebellion to imprison humankind with More death, destruction, betrayal and impeccable sense of fashion. I just love the characters in this book, they are all special and loved in their own unique was, especially the ones that are lost, they will be missed and cherished the most. But Isla and Thorne continue to grow and push the boundaries, their bond and connection is one in a million. I do hope that Isla will eventually learn to stop trying to push Thorne away as he is only looking out for her, and as he continues to tell her it’s not cause she is helpless, it’s cause he is helpless without her.
This book had me going through a roller coaster of emotions, I was laughing, crying, screaming and shocked af. I think my husband was on the verge of locking me in a padded cell lol, with all the different moods I went through while reading. But I channeled Isla and was able to finish reading with no padded room.
Wait! What?!! Holy shit, what did I just read?!! My heart has literally been ripped from my chest, whilst still beating! Dramatic much?! I don’t care *stamps foot!
Ugly cry!! Not even going to lie! Snotty, ugly cry. Tis not a good look, but this book took me through every emotion possible….and then some!
I have binge read the last three books in this series, could not put them down!
5 stars doesn’t even come close to how I feel about this book in the series. I have loved each one a different way and love how the story has grown. This series was also the first I had read of this author and have not looked back since.
Her stories are so good that I take my time reading as there is soo much detail in them you don’t want to miss it. I have loved Isla and Sophie throughout each of these and this one doesn’t disappoint either.
Isla is still a kickass female even when the Awakening is happening to her and she doesn’t want to slow down. Sophie is still battling her coven for her own identity and not fall into the darkness she knows can happen.
If you love PNR you would enjoy these books and totally fall in love with Isla and her freaking awesome sence of style and Sophie who is the best friend a girl can have and it doesn’t suck that she is a witch who can be very helpful in a tight situation.
I could go on an on but you need to discover this series and enjoy it as much as I have.
25 stars…all I can say is wow. The ending KILLED me!!! I finished this book 3 days ago and had to think of what I wanted to write. This book went ABOVE and BEYOND my expectations. It was amazing. I’m still in shock!!!! All I can say is Anne is truly talented. To be able to keep up the sarcasm ,wit, banter and fashion references like she does is a talent within itself. This book was absolutely hysterical. The relationship between Isla and Sophie is one of the best friend relationships I have ever read. We also got more of Sophie and her wolf. Plus Thorne… I love him. I loved every single second of this book. I hope we hear more from the king and the pesky human mute ‘Helen’ plus more……. this book was anything but boring. I was on my seat the entire book. Round of applause and standing ovation for Anne she nailed this one!!!! Oh and Thorne’s little sister….she is amazing!!
Oh how I have missed Isla my sassy vampire and she is on fire in this one. I LOLd a lot, I got teary a lot, I got squirmy/horny a lot & I got so angry that my Ipad might have been thrown at one point!!!
So much happens in this story I was binge reading as fast as my adult life would allow… it’s SOOO GOOD!!! We pick up where things left off in the last book and this one is packed with action, sass and a lot more emotions than we’ve experienced before. We really get to know what everyone means to each other and what they’re willing to do to keep those they love safe.
The ending had me slamming my Ipad down on my bed after flicking the page over and over hoping there was more to come. How could the author leave me like this. Seriously!!! I need book 4 immediately. Definitely recommend.
