Especially like her style of writing! Never disappoints. I have pre purchased her next two in the series. The first came free, but I have bought the whole series.
She leaves me still hungry for more!
I really enjoyed reading this book. The main character is a strong quick thinking young women. I found the plot and its many turns very interesting I barely put this book down.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book.
Wow, this book was fantastic! It pulled me right in, kept me reading till the end, & left me wanting the next book, I will impatiently be waiting for book 2! (This does have a cliff-hanger ending) The flow was fast & furious, the reader learns the world building along with the sheltered princess as the story progresses, which I thought was very effective at pulling the reader into the story. The characters are fabulous (even the secondary ones IMO). There are lots of secrets, surprises & plot twists. This was definitely well worth reading.
Amazing opener for a series I cannot wait to continue reading. I really enjoyed the familiar yet creative setting, the good exploration of character archetypes with a promise of so much more, and the delicious world building.
I had flashes of a “great ensemble cast” feeling from a Joss Whedon serial, or a Mass Effect party of misfits, or Dragon Age parties.
I admire every author for all their hard work. I enjoyed the story, and will read more books written by this author. The characters are adorable and the story telling is consuming. I escaped in a well-written fictional world until I finished.
I liked the story, however, it ended too soon.
So, I got this book back in February and only just read it. Totally love it. W. J. May just became one of my top 10 favorite authors. I bought the entire series.
Katerina. The princess is on the run from her brother and along the way meets interesting characters. Her character transformation is believable and keeps me engaged. She makes mistakes and she learns from them. She learns to survive from her companions and she does. Dylan is totally book boyfriend material. Same goes for Cas.
I think this adventure is good for 15 and older. It’s a paranormal adventure that keeps me reading and lately its been really hard to keep reading. Top notch writing and world building.
Why do I always seem to be waiting on the next book!
Thoroughly enjoyed the magical world it took me to . I will continue reading this series in anticipation of more magical adventure to come.
Great start to series. Can’t wait to read more.
This book quit to soon for me.
If you like short books,( less than 200 pages) with impossibly gorgeous self centered people, who really only like themselves, in sometimes compelling situations that only get resolved if you buy the next book. Gets old fast.
Eternal (The Queen’s Alpha, #1) was a great read by W.J. May. Katerina is the only daughter of the king. When he is murdered, she must flee for her life. She knows that her brother is the one who killed the king, and Kat is his next target. She finds a mysterious protector to help her. While she’s out, her brother’s assassin’s seem to close in on her every turn. I can’t wait to read more by W.J. May.
Great Series, loved the book! Read in one sitting, & couldn’t wait to read the next one interesting characters, story plot moves along & very fun read!
Enjoyed the story
Hate books that do not finish so tend to not look for the next book
I liked the book, the characters, the setting, and the story line. I wish it was more complete, and not the abbreviated stories I keep finding on ebooks.
I had high hopes with the way this book started, but that dropped off as I continued reading. Interesting characters and a creative twist on some stories we all have heard about. However, when a princess that has been groomed to take the throne becomes just another “clueless girl” aimlessly following some brooding stranger – I am no longer a believer. A girl groomed for the throne is not likely to be so compliant. Naive yes perhaps, but clueless and willing to go blindly along as a follower and never ask “hey, where are we going?” It became less likely that I would read book two by the end.
An enjoyable read that was fun to explore
Very Good i enjoyed reading it. I heald its story line well and never got boring.
