I thought things couldn’t get worse. I was wrong.
I found out what I really wanted and was forced to give him up. Just as I found out who I really am, I was presented to the elusive Horde King as a gift.
This was the mystical being I was hidden from for more than twenty years.
Although Ryder promised to save me, I couldn’t let him get near this creature, so I willingly (sort of) signed myself … signed myself over to be his new plaything.
Now in the Horde Realm, nothing is going remotely like I thought it would.
My powers and emotions are on the fritz, and each day seems to bring surprises that I am not sure how to deal with.
The Horde King thinks he has me exactly where he wants me.
He thinks he has taken all of my options away.
I still have choices.
Embracing what destiny has planned for me, or escaping it.

Escaping Destiny is book 3 in Amelia Hutchins ‘The Fae Chronicles’ series. If you haven’t read books 1 and 2 in the series yet, it is highly recommend that you do so, as this book has many key points and characters that you need to read from them.
I have said in my reviews for the previous books ‘Fighting Destiny’ and ‘Taunting Destiny’ that I love the warning at the beginning of the book that Amelia puts in and I can say I still honestly love it.
I didn’t think that Ryder and Synthia’s story could get any better, well I can honestly admit I was wrong, it TOTALLY can get better and it did with this book.
Synthia’s world has been completely turned upside down, back to front and inside out in the last several months since she first meet Ryder. She went from being a Human/Witch/Assassin for the Guild, then being told she was the Light Heir Princess intended to marry the Dark Fae Heir, then being told she was the lost Daughter to the Blood King who had be contracted to the Horde King when she was a baby. How was she supposed to know who and what she was when no one else did. Now she was in the clutches of the Horde King. How was she going to get herself out of this without getting herself or Ryder killed.
There is so many twists and turns in this book it will have you on the edge of your seat and addicted to every word. Just when you think you know where the book is going bam Amelia hits us with a new twist. Ryder and Synthia’s story is addictive, a real page turner jam packed with action.
As always with this series, this book is so good that you cannot put it down. Even though you don’t want the book to end you can’t turn the page fast enough. Syn is really opening up and accepting her new life and world even though it’s a hard adjustment. A lot is coming to light and I look forward to seeing what direction it all goes to in the next book.
I so love this series. I didn’t see this ending coming. I can’t wait til the next one. All I wanna say is thank you Amelia Hutchins for such great work.
Day 2 of my reread and I have finished book 3.
To say that I devoured this series is an understatement.
My obsession carries on as the story does!
On to book 4!
This book is edgy and very dark, it is still sexy and all the feels a good dark romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Im loving this series. Its unpredictable and epic easy n quick to read. This is book 3 must read the 1 n 2 before this or you will be so lost in what is going on
Well Syn finds out she is Blood Fae and has been contracted to the Horde King in exchange for her brother Liam. This is why she was hidden as a child. Ryder has promised to save her! I can’t say more without giving spoilers. Must read.
A time for discoveries and adjustments. I just can’t put down the book. So many twists…and what about Ristan?? He is fun, smart, friendly, even being a demon…I’m definitely in love with this character. Let’s keep reading and see what will come next.
This book continues the story of Syn and Ryder. This book starts right where the last one left off. Syn has been gifted to the Horde King, who is know to be evil and ruthless. This story of this book is about Syn discovering who the Horde King is and how she is going to live with him.
I loved the continuation of this story and the twists that Hutchins has added to Faery. There is never a dull of boring time in the book. She keeps the plot going and keeps the book interesting. There are new plot points that are added to this story and I can’t wait to see where she takes it.
So Synthia is being gifted as a concubine to the Horde King as previously promised to preserve the fragile peace between the Horde and Blood kingdoms.
Syn is now placing faith in Ryder to ride to her rescue as her white knight before it’s too late.
But things aren’t always as they seem In Faery and Syn is In for some major shocks and reveals when her eyes are finally opened to the truth of it all and secrets are finally revealed.
So this one takes place predominately in the Otherworld as Syn tries to acclimatise to her new circumstances and condition.
She’s also struggling with her new reality and her place and importance in Ryder’s life.
While Ryder himself really need to step it up before he unintentionally loses what’s most precious to him.
He really could take some lessons from his beast who himself knows exactly what it wants when it comes to there little pet.
It’s all about priority’s really and balancing the human and Fae culture and expectations that come along with it all.
Syn may now be fae herself but she has the heart of a human.
There are old and new Jealousies rising and trials to traverse and I really adored how close Syn is in this to Ristan or the Demon as she affectionately calls him.
He’s in a way taken on Adams responsibility’s as her closest confidant and he is ever so protective of his flower.
This one also seemed to have a more mystical vibe to it than its two predecessors.
Really enjoyed this a lot and with the war with the mages starting to take centre stage and looming on the horizon, things are really starting to intensify.

A gripping, intricately weaved story that’ll have you hooked. So many twists and turns that just keep coming. This book was well written with fantastic characters. There’s a few surprises that you won’t see coming. The many pieces of the puzzle are falling into place and all of the events are building into something even bigger. There’s a war coming and everything is gonna hit the floor running. I definitely recommend reading.

Favorite Quote: “I’m the fucking Horde King, I don’t woo.”
“Woo her,” Ristan continues.
“I don’t woo.”
“Woo,” he repeats.
“I’m not the kind of man to woo anyone. I can make her scream my name to the rafters, isn’t that enough wooing?”
“Woo,” Ristan smirks, which only served to irritate me more.
“Woo,” I grind out on an exhale.
“Yes, woo,” he says, already turning to walk away. I watch his shoulders quake with laughter.
“Woo,” I growl.
“Woo!” He says over his shaking shoulders.
“Fuck me,” I shake my head.
“No thanks, not my type…”
Review:
My favorite characters in this book definitely is Ristan. That dude is hilariously sarcastic. I really like him. I hope he has his own book because I definitely want more of him.
I liked that Ryder finally got it through that thick scull of his (thanks to ristan) that he needs to start trying more, as the quote above shows.
Things again where like I predicted. I was smiling like the Cheshire cat, I just fucking knew it hahaha.
Syn was really trying in this book, she really stuck to her guns on certain ways and I love that. She was trying so hard to remain in control, something I really can relate to. She starts to adjust to her new situation and wants to make the most of it.
This might be my favorite in the series so far.
Rating:
4 I really enjoyed it Stars
Well made story with well made characters, mystery, magic, action packed, domineering and sexual.
Loved this 3rd installment and read it in 1 day. On to the 4th book and so glad these books are not short (kudos to the author for that and providing a more detailed story)
Awesome book. The story of Ryder and Syn is captivating and the plot is pretty interesting. Really enjoyed this third book of the series. We learn more secrets about all the characters and who they are and can become.
Appealing characters, good plot, steamy scenes and a special humor between other things, will make you devour this series.
Loved it!
2 words…Horde King!!! Hold on tight, because he will take you there!!!
I really enjoyed reading this.. From the first page I could tell it was going to be a hard book to put down, I just wanted to know what was going to happen next. And lets not forget the secondary characters w/ are perfect in their own ways… A big thumps up for Amelia
Insane!!! Love it!
4,5 stars
After loving the second book of this series so much, I couldn’t wait to read the third book ‘Escaping destiny’. The pace in this book was a bit slower than in the second book but it still held some secrets and surprises in it. Some that I never saw coming and some that I had a suspicion of. We also learned more about the Horde King and his world. Some things haven’t change though, Ryder is still a dominant man and the sex is still steamy and plenty. Synthia is still a stubborn woman but because of her pregnancy she can’t be very active and that had also his influence on the story.
I liked this story and I’m curious for the fourth book in this series.
Amazing! Wow so much going on! Syn is amazing & Ryder is beyond words. I was completely shocked into their world!
