Navy SEAL Jason Kealoha comes to Sunset Beach to release the ashes of his SEAL brother, who was killed in an attack in Nigeria. A Pacific Islander by lineage, Jason is unfamiliar with the Gulf Coast shores his buddy grew up playing in as a child. He befriends a beauty one night at sunset, as she roams the surf, skipping shells, lost in her own world.Kiley Worthington is on the run from a sex … a sex trafficking cartel she stumbled upon as an investigative reporter in Portland. She decides hiding out in her sleepy beach hometown in Florida makes sense until she can figure out where she can spend the rest of her life in safety. The one-night stand was nice, but the last thing she needs is a huge tatted overly-protective guy who won’t leave her alone. His attitude is all hardboiled, but his lips are warm and seductive. If she’s not careful, she may never escape.
But Jason turns out to be the right kind of wrong for Kiley, as her enemies find her. In Jason’s arms she finds a true sanctuary, as well as a safe place to hide forever amongst the white sand beaches and golden sunsets of the Florida coastline.

This is a book with mystery and murder but also one that shows the feeling of two who just meet but have things that will keep them close. Kiley is a newspaper writer and she has been writing about sex trafficking and has found herself in trouble and needs to hide out. Jason is taking the ashes of a friend and scattering them out to sea as his friend made him promise to do. This is where they meet on a beach and the store really kicks in and its a very unpredictable ending. Cant wait to read her next book.
An unexpected meeting, a h running from the cartel, Jason finds himself helping Kiley and falling in love. A bit if action and romance, a decent read.
This was a good read. I just didn’t much care for Kiley. She drove me nuts and I just wanted to smack her so many times.
I’m on the fence about this book. It’s not like the typical SEALS books I’ve read (and I’ve read a lot of them). The story is a decent one. By my first impression of the h is she’s one of those TSTL girls and she didn’t get any better. The H is okay. There is an obnoxious boss, whinny coworkers, a reporter who is in over her head, multiple sex trafficking rings, steamy scenes, insta love and the phrase “the glory trail” (yeah, add that to the list!). As I said I’m on the fence big time on this one.
Kiley is finishing a story about human trafficking. She runs into jason who she thinks is after her. They hit it off very quickly. Worth the read.
This was the second book I’ve read in this series. I really need to go back and read some of her previous books so I can follow who some of the other team guys (and their gals) were that were mentioned. I love reading about military men. I kept wondering when something bad was going to happen. The author kept me on my toes. Jason and Kiley were a great couple. I just wish it had been longer.
This fourth installment in the Sunset Seals books proves to be my favorite book of the series. Jason comes to Sunset Beach Florida to honor a promise to his Seal ‘brother’ and release his ashes. He runs into Kiley, an investigative reporter from Portland who is on the run from a sex trafficking ring she was reporting on. Jason’s protective impulses kick in with the frightened Ki-ley.
What can I say. Escape to Sunset is a well written, exciting book that has Seals, bad guys (both foreign and domestic) and tons of action on top of a love story. Who could resist!?!
I really enjoyed this story. It was a quick read but entertaining. Jason and Kiley have a one night stand which ends up being so much more. Kiley is hiding out after writing a newspaper story and is feeling threatened and escapes to the Gulf Coast. Jason is there to scatter his friends ashes . For some reason, even though she is afraid, she connects with him and they get together. He wants to protect her, but she thinks she can handle things alone. Great story with a HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
This is a gripping, suspenseful and intriguing story. When Jason goes to sunset beach to release his best friend’s ashes to the sea, he notices a woman just sitting on the beach wrapped in a blanket. When he goes to introduce himself, Kiley freaks out. Jason leaves and figures that if they are meant to be, he’d see her again. Kiley was in hiding from people who ran a human trafficking operation who had tried to scare her away from the story. Kiley and Jason meet again, and things between them heat up very quickly. When Jason gets called to go on a mission, he makes Kiley promise to stay in Florida and not go back to Portland. Unfortunately, the crap hits the fan while he’s gone, and Kiley has to put herself in danger. Jason is a native Hawaiian who chants to himself, and converses with dead people. He quietly strong, super sweet and very dedicated. Kiley is stubborn, determined and reckless. It’s a must read for SEAL fans.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
ARC for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars
Escape to Sunset is book 4 in the Sunset Seal series by Sharon Hamilton and a nice edition to this series!
Next up is Jason Kealoha and Kiley Worthington. Jason a Navy Seal has come to the gulf coast of Florida to pay his last respects to his Seal brother and send him off into the sunset. While doing so he sees Kiley on the beach and he senses she’s in trouble and there’s more to her than what he sees.
What begins as a one night stand turns into more than either expects…but can Jason keep her safe, figure out her secrets before he has to return to his Seal duties…only time will tell…
This is my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed reading this book and I wish I had read the books that came before it. Great book and definitely recommended.
I really enjoyed reading Kiley and Jason’s story. It was packed full, of drama and suspense. I love a strong, independent female character. This did not disappoint. This is a book that would not normally appeal to me and a first for this author for me. I am glad I took a chance on it. I wil, definitely read more by Sharon Hamilton in the future.
This was a fast-paced, well-written story with an entertaining storyline. Jason and Kiley were great characters and they had amazing chemistry. There was emotions, drama, danger, romance and love. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!
I received an advanced readers copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
I love a good story about a SEAL and this book didn’t disappoint! Lots of action and romance!
Jason and Kiley have quite the adventure in this quick, action-packed book. This is my first time reading a book from this author, and I was not disappointed. Kiley finds herself in danger as she investigates a ring of missing women. After fleeing to Florida for her safety, she meets NAVY Seal, Jason. I loved the strong female character and the unpredictable ending to this mystery! Great read!
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Escape To Sunset . I really enjoyed reading this story . It’s well written and Jason and Kiley are the perfect couple . It’s full of intrigue and suspense and action but definitely romance . It’s all out fabulous with a great ending . I highly recommend taking the time to read .
Sharon Hamilton is one of my favorite authors. When I see her name I know that I will have a good story to read! I have even been to two of her book signings while she was on the East Coast.
This story does not disappoint. Jason and Kiley seem to be perfect for each other. Their only problem is finding the time and the space to be together. Kiley is a newspaper reporter who wrote a few articles about the sex slave industry naming names. She went into hiding when several things happened to scare her. Jason feels frustrated because he can’t really help her.
Of course this was a great story and well worth buying.
Jason comes to the Florida Gulf Coast to fulfill his friend’s last wish and he winds up finding a whole lot more. After tossing his friend’s ashes into the ocean, Jason notices a woman sitting on the beach hiding under a large hat and sunglasses. After a time, he realizes that she is crying, but before he can ask her if he can help she jumps up and takes off leaving her blanket behind.
Kiley just knows that the trouble she has been running from has found her so she takes off again, but upon reaching her bungalow she realizes that she left her favorite blanket on the beach and returns to get it. Jason tries to talk to her, but winds up causing her to have a panic attack and he can smell her fear. After Kiley comes to, Jason tries to offer his help and gets attacked by Kiley. He calms her down and finds out that she may be in danger and he again offers to help, but Kiley refuses and they part ways. The next night they meet again on the beach, but instead of finding out what she is running from, Jason winds up spending the night with Kiley. The next day Jason learns that Kiley is an investigative reporter for a paper in Oregon and she is doing an expose’ on kidnapping and human trafficking of young girls and that she has been threatened. Before Jason can possibly help her he is called back to duty and deployed on a mission. He tries to hook Kiley up with some former team mates and his leader’s wife to help her, but Kiley is headstrong and doesn’t want to listen to anyone’s advice which leads her to do impulsive things that put her in more danger that Jason may not be able to rescue her from.
This book had me laughing, cringing, swooning and cheering. It is a good story and definitely worth the read.
Its so awesome to open a book and be pullled in with the amazing story line, fantastic characters, and a well written book you dont want to put down. This is what Sharon Hamilton has brought to you. So looking forward to reading more seal books and the awesome women they meet
We are back on the Gulf Coast of Florida and this time the story belongs to Navy SEAL Jason Kealoha and investigative reporter, Kiley Worthington.
Jason is there to release into the ocean the ashes of his best friend, Navy SEAL Thomas, who was killed in action.
When he sees a woman on the beach, he is drawn to her, but she is on the run and keeping secrets.
Later, Kiley reveals her story on human trafficking has her in the crossfire of evil men. As much as Jason wants to protect her , he is also trying to keep his actions in check.
A secondary story is revealed when Jason’s next mission has him going to the Canary Islands where there they too are working against human traffickers. Makes one wonder if in later stories these two incidents will be related, though that is only this reader’s speculation.
If you have read previous stories, you will get a chance to visit with some of those characters. Always nice to “hear” how they are all doing as well as enjoy their camaraderie.
In general, it was an engaging story with interesting characters and a good plot.
My only but in the story , is that Jason is Hawaiian with Polynesian ancestors, and having visited New Zealand, as far as I know, that is the home of the Maori not Hawaii. But , I could be wrong.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
