No memory is just the beginning of his troubles… tell him anything about his past.
As he tries to learn something about his life before, Gabriel finds himself inexplicably drawn to two very different men: Solomon, the exorcist priest who found him and has been helping him try to remember who he was, and Florian, an occultist coffee shop owner whose own tragic past allows him to accept Gabriel as he is.
As Gabriel’s health begins to dwindle—and not even his angel can explain why—he scrambles to find answers before he’s taken away from the happiness he’s found and the men he loves.
But without the foundation of a past, Gabriel worries the life he’s building will crumble around him.
Equinox is the first in the Augarten series and is an 84,000-word MMM romance with magical realism, an amnesiac willing to try just about anything to remember, a priest with unpriestly thoughts, and lots and lots of espresso.

The book is well written and the author sets a great world and describes Augarten in Vienna really well. I felt like I was really there seeing things through my eyes. The romance section of the book was good and well written also, but the bits I didn’t like was the religion side of it. It was confusing the way it was written and mixed with the metaphysical world it was a little far fetched.
The author loved to used big words to describe basic things and I am a well read person and even I had to look a few of those words up to see what they meant.
I received a ARC of this book and the review is my own opinion
Lovely book. This book was a change in my normal reading genre and I didn’t regret taking a chance on it. The characters felt alive and the author’s ability to set the scene was great. You can tell research went into this book and I appreciate that. I will definitely re-read this book but I couldn’t give 5 stars. Some scenes in the final chapters seemed too rushed with lots of information being thrown at you. Except for this problem excellent book.

I finished this book yesterday and as I usually do I came to review it but I really had to let it sink in before I could. This is an incredibly different book, not in any weird way just that it’s set in the future and a man wakes up naked in a garden not knowing who he is. This could easily have been a very frustrating story to read because even by the end of it you still haven’t been given all the answers but it is so incredibly well written that I just had to keep reading (although I was happy to read that there are more books in this series). Even the smallest side characters in this book have stories behind them and there is not a two dimensional character anywhere. The plot is intriguing and different and you need to know that I read an average of one or two books a day so when I say that something is different I have a lot of books to compare it to. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it highly. Sometimes I wish that I had an extra star that I could only give a few times a year. I would definitely be giving one to this book. I can’t wait to read the next one.

I devoured all five of the books in this series. Spiritual main characters who battle both personal and cosmic evils are always attractive to me and this book, set in the near future is told with such detail, such a lovely mix of mundane and magical that I could believe that I have been there in this fictional future. Christian angels, pagan tree spirits, reincarnation and a sweet threesome of committed lovers with complicated pasts make this a worthwhile read. There is a spinoff series, too.
Full of intrigue and magic. Great world building. Interesting characters and their relationships. Well written novel. Great start to new series.
A world with ancient Gods and the Christian-Judaic God, Catholic angels from a superior astral plane and antique Celtic magic energies, reincarnation or complete destruction of souls. Intriguing mystery, beautiful moments of love beyond time and space, and no real good vs evil but more denial vs acceptance.
This is a fantastic story!! The story starts with Gabriel waking up in a park with no memory where he is found by a priest Solomon. This is the an MMM story. Their world is amazing, full of magic! Its unique and fast paced. Really good!!
I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
This story was difficult for me to finish. I could not see any connection between the 3 MCs. The story for the most part was rather slow and at times boring. The main premise in this story is Gabriel’s amnesia and all he does on that is meditating. Tbh, the blurb was also somewhat misleading – giving the impression that there was more to offer.
It took me several days to read this as I found it difficult to pick up.

I have mixed feelings about this book. One the one hand, I found Gabriel’s situation fascinating and was constantly trying to figure out what had happened to him, and who he might be. I loved that he had such strong feelings for and around both Florian and Solomon. On the other hand, the magic/supernatural reality was stop nebulous that I found it to be confusing. Does the Archangel Michael not work for the Christian God? If not, and the exorcists know this, why would the Catholic Church encourage prayer to an intermediary that doesn’t have a true connection to Christ? If he does, then what tradition could any true believer have to set up a space where angels can’t go to help with the truly difficult demons?
We have a situation where angels are definitely real, as are other gods and magic systems, but where it’s not clear if Catholic Christianity is just another magic system in a world of many, or if it is something different, but akin. Because this is so unclear, I found myself pulled out of the story, several times, to question what was going on.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
As much as I like the character Gabriel, I found this books well-written but unoriginal. This is not a books I want to re-read.
